Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort, Hardeeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Second time we stayed here overnight. Far enough away from I-95 that you get no traffic noise. Staff is pleasant and efficient. The roads are easy for big rigs to navigate. The sites are dirt and get muddy when it rains. The utilities worked well except that the cable box was falling apart. The sites are close with no vegetation for privacy. The dumpster is not conveniently placed. There are a few trees, but we got satillite with no problem. The lake is quite beautiful, and it's pleasant to sit on the dock to enjoy the view. I would definitely stay here longer than overnight to visit the nearby attractions. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Casey Jones RV Park, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Great for overnight stay. Easy access from I-75. Staff is friendly. Easy to navigate a big rig in the park. The roads are asphalt and the sites are grass. We had a pull through site that was long enough to keep our toad connected. Our site was level. The utilities are well placed and worked well. The WiFi worked well. There are many channels on the cable, but many don't come in well. Casey Jones is a bargain for $29 a night. I would stay again. We camped at Casey Jones RV Park in a Motorhome.

Eagles Landing RV Park, Holt, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great for overnight stay. Easy access from I-10, bur far enough away that there is no I-10 traffic noise. Staff is friendly. They do not accept credit cards. Easy to navigate a big rig in the park. The roads and sites are gravel. We had a pull through site. Our site was level and very long. The utilities are well placed and worked well. The wifi is not free and we passed on paying because we weren't sure it would work anyway. Verizon signal was okay. There was no cable, but we got many channels on our HD antenna. At $25 a night you can hardly go wrong. I would stay again. We camped at Eagles Landing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $83.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights. We had a little difficulty finding the place. Far enough away from I-10 that there is no I-10 traffic noise, but there is airplane and train noise. Staff is business like and efficient. Easy to navigate a big rig in the park. The roads and sites are gravel. We had a pull in super site on the water. That was nice. Our site was level. The utilities worked well. The wifi signal was so weak at our site that we couldn't sign on. Verizon signal was okay. We had a problem with the cable and the staff responded right away. The cable has numerous channels that came in clearly. Unlike other campgrounds I've stayed at in the area, I felt safe here. The pull in water site was pricey. I would stay here again, but doubt that I will. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Cajun Palms RV Resort, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights. Easy access from I-10, but far enough away that there is no I-10 traffic noise. There is good signage and it's easy to find. Staff is very pleasant. Easy to navigate a big rig in the park except they need to trim the trees so that they don't brush against the RVs. Also the trees can be a problem on many sites when you are leaving. Some of the trees are planted in bad locations. There was some sort of utility box near the back of our site which made it aggravating pulling in. The metal posts protecting the box clearly indicated that they had been hit by RVs. The roads and pads are concrete. The utilities were toward the back of our pull through site, but worked well. The WiFi is not free. A real bummer. Verizon signal was okay. The cable has numerous channels and come in clearly. They want you to wear wrist bands. I didn't like that. I doubt we would stay here again primarily because of the trees not being trimmed and the WiFi not being free. We camped at Cajun Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Forest Retreat RV Park, New Caney, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights. There is good signage and it's easy to find. Staff is very pleasant. Easy to navigate a big rig in the park. The roads and pads are concrete. The utilities are toward the back of our pull through site, but worked well. The wifi was difficult to sign up, but worked well. Verizon signal was okay. The cable is not digital and is grainy on all channels. The channels on our HD antenna were grainy as well. There were few trees so the satillite worked well. This is a very attractive campground. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Forest Retreat RV Park in a Motorhome.

Gulf Coast RV Resort, Beaumont, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed just one night. Easy to get to from I-10, but far enough away that there is no I-10 noise. Staff is pleasant. Easy to navigate a big rig in the park. The roads are asphalt and the sites are narrow concrete slabs. Lots of mud when you step off of the concrete slab. The utilities are toward the back of our pull through site, but worked well. The wifi was awful, but the Verizon signal was okay. There is no cable, but we were able to get channels on our HD antenna. There are no trees or landscaping so the satillite worked well. We would stay overnight again. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lakeside RV Park, Livingston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Extremely nice campground. Convenient to I-12, but far enough away that there was no I-12 noise. Staff very pleasant. Many long term guests, but their sites are neat and orderly. Beautiful paved roads and sites with well place utilities that worked well. No cable, but our site was in the open so satillite was no problem and we picked up several local channels on our HD antenna. Beautiful lake with paved path along edge. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Lakeside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed just one night. The campground is convenient to I-10, but far enough away that you don't hear traffic noice. Our gravel site was level, and the campground is easy to negotiate in our big rig. The utilities were toward the back of our pull through site, but they worked well. Cable was good. The wifi was hit and miss. Staff is very friendly. There are some long term residents, but their sites are neat and orderly. I would stay again. We camped at Pensacola RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tallahassee RV Park, Tallahassee, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient from I-10, but it can be challenging to get out of campground and back to I-10 when traffic is heavy. Pull through sites are way too close together. If there was enough room to put out your awning, your neighbors utilities would be under the awning. Utilities work well, but the threads on the sewer connections are stripped. Cable is good. Wifi is much better than most campgrounds. Staff is friendly and the campground is clean. We camped at Tallahassee RV Park in a Motorhome.

James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground. It's unusual to find a public campground with sewer and 50 amp, and when I do I usually take advantage of the opportunity. We stayed a week. Lots of trees so satellite may be difficult and they don't have cable. Antenna only brought in a few channels. Utilities are well placed and worked well. Lots of walking trails which we made good use of. Close to downtown Charleston. One night on our way home we saw 3 deer. Lots of coons. We will definitely return. We camped at James Island County Park in a Motorhome.

This is the best Florida State Park that I have ever camped in. 50 amp, sewer and great cable set it apart. About the only thing I missed was wifi at the site, but my Verizon hot spot worked well. I definitely will return. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

In my opinion this park is way overpriced. It's nothing but a nice parking lot with RV hookups near the French Quarter. All sites are back-in. The utilities are well placed and work well. Channels on the cable are grainy. It is unbelievable that for the price they are charging that they don't provide wifi at the sites. The area seems safe in daylight, but I wouldn't walk to or from the park at night. I can't imagine staying here again. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

No one was at office when we arrived. We had to call the hotel to get a site number. The site was just barely long enough for our big rig and toad. We had to disconnect the toad because the utilities are at the very back of the site. They planted trees at the very front of the site which I couldn't get around without scraping our motorhome. The wifi was poor but did work. The cable was very good. The utilities worked. Just poorly placed. I wouldn't stay again. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.
