Cinderella Motel & Campsite, Grand Island, New York

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here while we toured the falls. Great location ,easy drive over to both sides of the falls. The price was the best for the area. The sites are a little tight but worked great for our short stay here. You check in at the motel office. The staff was great and easy to deal with. We camped at Cinderella Motel & Campsite in a Motorhome.

Sun Valley Campground, Bowmansville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for the NHRA race. The campground is close to race track, but not within walking distance. WiFi only at the office and no Verizon service .They had lots of activities over the weekend and a band on Saturday night! The roads in the park are tight but go slow and you will have no problems. Most people here are seasonal but they put was travelers all together. We camped at Sun Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed the week after the races to explore. Lots of Amish stuff in the area, several family farm stores near there that are worth the stop. Try and fuel up outside of PA,they have the highest prices of anywhere we have seen on the east this entire year and get an Easy Pass for the toll roads.

Sunflower Acres Family Campground, Addison, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice country campground with mostly seasonal people, had plenty of sites for travelers too.Beautiful sitting in the hills of southern New York. The staff was great and helpful,we had to stay an extra night because of an escaped cat,the staff got a big laugh out of that. A little hard to get to,roads are very narrow heading in,lots of room once in the campground, very large campsites. We camped at Sunflower Acres Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Riverdale Farm Campsites, Clinton, Connecticut

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Great park, good location. Just watch the trees on River Road coming in; they hang low, not the campground's fault. The pond was some of the best times we have had in the water all summer long! Lots of events always going on in the campground. Being from Texas, we had to attend the Texas BBQ meal and hoe-down. They did a good job! We had site 8E. It was level and open on our door side. Lots of room, could park Jeep in open area next to us We camped at Riverdale Farm Campsites in a Motorhome.

Clinton has all the basic stores you need, others are not that far away. The Ace Hardware store in town was one of the best I have ever been in, they care. Take the short drive up yo Rhode Island and check out the beach. We went kayaking out in Long Island Sound, unloaded at Harborside Marina. They were the cheapest: $10.00

Bull Run Regional Park, Centreville, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Price was a little higher than we like to spend, but it was the best deal near DC. Beautiful setting, lots of trees. Yes, you can hear the gun range but all is quiet when it closes. The hookups were on the wrong side, but we were able to cross connect without any problems. Not all sites are like that. No cable or Internet. Close to Metro station for our trips downtown. Every store you could need is located in Manassas only a few miles away. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

We parked in one of the parking lots and unhooked to find the office and check in; parking at office is tight. The right hand turn into the park comes very quick after the 10 MPH turn off of Post Office road, DON'T miss it. Heck to turn around! The water park was a blast! Drive to the Vienna/Fairfax Metro terminal and take the train downtown, we went 4 days and that is not enough! God Bless the USA

The Buckhorne Country Store and Campground, Clifton Forge, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Good location. Not a a lot of extras, but the price is right. Did not get Escapees discount on check-in. My fault ,but they fixed it the next day. The cable did not work at my site #12. They told me the cable was not working in the site when I booked in March. Yes, as in other review the water is not all that good; it stinks and stains. Good stopping place. We booked for 2 weeks, was too long, ran out of stuff to do in the area. Again the record rain fall caused problems on the rivers and lakes, but not the park's fault. Quite a few of full timers there but they are nice people. One of them will be by to visit, she's easy to get along with and knows everyone! Easy to find, easy in/out. We camped at The Buckhorne Country Store and Campground in a Motorhome.

Laurel Creek RV Park, Damascus, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Location,Location,Location! Park backs right up to the Laurel Creek for a great setting. This is a no frills place to park while you explore this great area. There are no extras, just a great place to park with water, elec, and sewer. They have the fastest free Internet of any park we have ever stayed in. There is no office on site but the owner is by every morning and loves to talk. He is a good guy. We were there during record rain fall and the park had a drainage problem but they were bringing in loads of gravel and working to correct it when we were leaving. Owner let me pay the monthly rate even though we were only there for 21 days, it was cheaper. We camped at Laurel Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Watch carefully for the sign at the entrance easy to miss, don't worry about the steep decline entering the park. It's not that bad, BUT DO TAKE CARE when crossing the bridge and making the curve from the highway to the park road! Great location for exploring Damascus. Book your Creeper Trail ride with SunDog outfitters, they were great. Take a day trip down to Boone NC and jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Apollo RV Park, Concord, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Chose this park because of family in the area. Did not realize we were in the middle of NASCAR country, but that was great!!! The owners were easy to seal with, they run it out of their home at the entrance, just went into the kitchen to sign in.No credit cards ,cash or check. We chose site #8 after a quick trip through the park in our Jeep. It was paved and very level, most sites are grass/gravel and got pretty messy with the spring rains. The location is great for exploring all the area has to offer,we will be returning in the future. Lots of speed bumps, but that is OK keeps the traffic moving at a safe speed, but the there is not a lot of movement in the park. We camped at Apollo RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wind Creek State Park, Alexander City, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Could be the prettiest state park we have ever stayed in. Check in was easy and help was very friendly, lots of sites here so we unhooked and found site before taking the bus into the park. We had site B27 backed right up to the water, lots of room too. We launched our kayaks right behind the site. They also have a well stocked store with boat rentals too. No WiFi or cable in our basic site but with all there is to do you wont miss it. Park is patrolled and secure and they don't hassle you about the little things, like parking on the grass. Lots of stuff for the kids too!!! We camped at Wind Creek State Park in a Motorhome.
