Munising Tourist Park Campground, Munising, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great view from site 37, not water front but nice open area next to us. Hook ups are a little scattered so be sure you have extension cords and hoses. Staff were friendly and easy to deal with. Beautiful setting a few miles from town. Water front sites are sandy and become a little bit of a mess during rains but offer great lake views. Sunsets are as good as they come!!!! We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Book well in advance - the park was full our entire stay. Take the Pictured Rocks Cruise at sunset. It's worth every penny just get there early to get in line for the upper deck seating. No major chain stores nearby so stuff costs a little more but keeps the small town feel alive. Cork Town bar was great!!!!!! Be sure and take the country drives - all are great.

Lots to do downtown, worth a walk!!! Stay out of the casinos,no good. Cruise the coast and check out the light houses. Great Ship Wreck museum is well worth the drive. Download the Findship app and keep up with the boats on the river. Not really worth the drive to Canada, not sure they like us!!! If you do must have passport.

Great setting in the woods, not on the lake ,cant even see it.Only electric hook up,no WiFi,no OAT TV,no T Mobile cell service. Showers were closed, told us to use others over a mile away. Planned a 4 day stop here, but after they offered us a 120.00 fine for our cat being outside we left, yes I know there are leash rules. We have been full time for 2 years and have never had a problem with our cat till now. No Office have to find the host. We camped at Sangchris Lake State Park, Deer Run Campground in a Motorhome.

Great park at a great price. Staff was great and easy to deal with.We chose a site with out sewer, but they do have them.Like all state parks no WiFi or cable, but at $14 per night that is fine. T Mobile service was fine. Hiking trails were great. If possible, take a drive and look at site first, just to find the best way in. We camped at Atlanta State Park in a Motorhome.

Sun Valley Campground, Bowmansville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for the NHRA race. The campground is close to race track, but not within walking distance. WiFi only at the office and no Verizon service .They had lots of activities over the weekend and a band on Saturday night! The roads in the park are tight but go slow and you will have no problems. Most people here are seasonal but they put was travelers all together. We camped at Sun Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed the week after the races to explore. Lots of Amish stuff in the area, several family farm stores near there that are worth the stop. Try and fuel up outside of PA,they have the highest prices of anywhere we have seen on the east this entire year and get an Easy Pass for the toll roads.

Sunflower Acres Family Campground, Addison, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice country campground with mostly seasonal people, had plenty of sites for travelers too.Beautiful sitting in the hills of southern New York. The staff was great and helpful,we had to stay an extra night because of an escaped cat,the staff got a big laugh out of that. A little hard to get to,roads are very narrow heading in,lots of room once in the campground, very large campsites. We camped at Sunflower Acres Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Riverdale Farm Campsites, Clinton, Connecticut

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Great park, good location. Just watch the trees on River Road coming in; they hang low, not the campground's fault. The pond was some of the best times we have had in the water all summer long! Lots of events always going on in the campground. Being from Texas, we had to attend the Texas BBQ meal and hoe-down. They did a good job! We had site 8E. It was level and open on our door side. Lots of room, could park Jeep in open area next to us We camped at Riverdale Farm Campsites in a Motorhome.

Clinton has all the basic stores you need, others are not that far away. The Ace Hardware store in town was one of the best I have ever been in, they care. Take the short drive up yo Rhode Island and check out the beach. We went kayaking out in Long Island Sound, unloaded at Harborside Marina. They were the cheapest: $10.00

Bull Run Regional Park, Centreville, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Price was a little higher than we like to spend, but it was the best deal near DC. Beautiful setting, lots of trees. Yes, you can hear the gun range but all is quiet when it closes. The hookups were on the wrong side, but we were able to cross connect without any problems. Not all sites are like that. No cable or Internet. Close to Metro station for our trips downtown. Every store you could need is located in Manassas only a few miles away. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

We parked in one of the parking lots and unhooked to find the office and check in; parking at office is tight. The right hand turn into the park comes very quick after the 10 MPH turn off of Post Office road, DON'T miss it. Heck to turn around! The water park was a blast! Drive to the Vienna/Fairfax Metro terminal and take the train downtown, we went 4 days and that is not enough! God Bless the USA

The Buckhorne Country Store and Campground, Clifton Forge, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Good location. Not a a lot of extras, but the price is right. Did not get Escapees discount on check-in. My fault ,but they fixed it the next day. The cable did not work at my site #12. They told me the cable was not working in the site when I booked in March. Yes, as in other review the water is not all that good; it stinks and stains. Good stopping place. We booked for 2 weeks, was too long, ran out of stuff to do in the area. Again the record rain fall caused problems on the rivers and lakes, but not the park's fault. Quite a few of full timers there but they are nice people. One of them will be by to visit, she's easy to get along with and knows everyone! Easy to find, easy in/out.
