Cochiti Lake COE , Pena Blanca, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time that we have stayed at Cochiti Lakes and love this park but we did notice a decline in the maintenance of the facilities. The restrooms were not maintained regularly and at times unavailable. On the positive side, the park is quiet and biking areas are plentiful. There are elevated grills at each site and covered picnic tables on concrete pads. Washing of your RV and tow vehicle is allowed and much appreciated. Some of the sites can be challenging to level but overall a really great place and the rates are unbelievable. If they maintained the restroom facilities, this would be a "10". We will be back. We camped at Cochiti Lake COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Hike the slot canyon at Tent Rocks National Monument, great hike! Take your dog to the "Dog Beach" for a dip, great addition. Bike ride on top of the dam, hard surface road, and no public vehicles!

Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was not very level, took some adjusting to get the RV level. Enjoyed being in the cedar trees. The owners/managers were friendly and helpful, we enjoyed our time at the park and would stay again. Nice "leg stretch" trail for hiking around the park. We camped at Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Turner Inn & RV Park, Mountainair, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This park needs a good deal of work, the electrical went out a dozen times per day. We were offered a different site. The park is OK if you enjoy trains, we estimate one train per hour around the clock. We would not stay here again because of the noise. Convenient to the Salinas Pueblos. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here to visit a number of the attractions in the area. The park was clean and organized, staff helpful and friendly. No pool or other amenities but a very nice park in the Grants area. Walking trail for the dog. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the Mining Museum in town. El Malpais Nat'l Park was OK, ranger talk was not very good. El Morro Nat'l Park is amazing, do not miss this one. El Calder0n hiking to the volcano was a nice leg stretch. OK to take dogs on most hikes.

Sky City RV Park, Acoma, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed that this RV park because it was convenient to the Acoma Pueblo that we intended to visit. It was an OK overnight park but nothing special. The parking spaces are on worn out / crumbling asphalt. The parking lane is identified by sloped curbing that makes walking around the RV difficult. Sewer hookup on our site was uphill from our drain point. We camped at Sky City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Queen Mine RV Park, Bisbee, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This park is the place to stay if you are visiting "Old Bisbee" - the park is within walking distance of the historic downtown and the major tourist attractions in the city. The park is exactly that, it is for parking, no real extras but we were not there for the resort experience. We had no problem getting into our spot, plenty of maneuvering room. Was glad that I viewed the entrance on Google Earth so I was not surprised with two relatively tight turns uphill into the parking area. The owner was easy to work with and had our site well marked when we arrived. We camped at Queen Mine RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are planning to receive packages at the park please note that the PO does not deliver to addresses in Old Bisbee, all mail goes to boxes in the Post Office in Old Bisbee and you need a box. The main Post Office is south/west of town, Old Bisbee is a sub-station. UPS and FEDEX deliver in Old Bisbee. Took us a while to get this figured out - got lucky and found our package at the main PO just before it was going to be returned.

Tombstone RV Park and Campground, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a typical Arizona RV Park in that it is all gravel with not much greenery, but heck, it is a desert. The park is well kept, clean and well laid out. Convenient to the doings in Tombstone, the owners also provide a free shuttle to and from town. We would stay there again. We camped at Tombstone RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed the park with one exception, the speed bumps (humps). The park is well laid out, clean and organized. Maneuvering with large rigs is comfortable and the spaces are reasonably sized as commercial parks go. From the office to our parking spot we had to cross 11, yes 11, speed bumps. There is no way to avoid these, each time we entered or left the park we had to cross all 11 speed bump. While they are clearly effective in slowing traffic, we believe the owners could find better ways to deal with their obvious concerns for controlling speed. The owners provided a list of shopping and service providers in the area -- appreciated and useful. Left turns out of the park are challenging given the exit across a busy divided highway that is not signal controlled. Would have rated the park a 9 or 10, if it had not been for all the speed bumps. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
