Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Very well-maintained campground. Can get crowded over the holiday weekend, but the staff handles the crowds very well. Lots of activities for kids of every age. New activities/amenities built on ongoing basis. Everything needed for several weeks of vacation within the campground, no need to leave. The number of golf carts can be overwhelming, but the staff regulates use for the safety of the campers. We enjoyed the patriotic activities for July 4th! We camped at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lanier's Family Campground, Surf City, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was friendly & welcoming. There was a gate at the entrance, but the campground was not fenced. The pool was being enjoyed by lots of campers, but it appeared small for the number of sites/campers. The lots were small & narrow. There were only 27 sites in the huge campground that would accommodate our 24ft camper, of those 10 did not offer full hook-up. Of the 27, several were vacated permanent sites with gravel pads. A lot of maintenance is needed on the campsites (grass mowing, weed eating, weedkiller). Some of the roads were in bad shape (bumpy ride, broken pavement). There are a lot of improvements that could be made at this campground. We camped at Lanier's Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

White Oak Shores Camping & RV Resort, Stella, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very refreshing to find such a nice, new campground in North Carolina. The staff is very friendly. Quiet, friendly campers on all sites. Smooth roads are great for walking & skating. Great fishing off the new pier. The upcoming campsites and plans for the campground look very promising. While there are no trees, the sites are very nicely manicured lawns (reminded us of a golf course). Location is convenient to the beaches. The facilities are all very nice & well-maintained. We camped at White Oak Shores Camping & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
