About Dave Krobath

We are early retired and travel part time. We bought of first MH in 2015 and use our MH at least once a month, and have done several 2-4 week trips so far. We travel with our 2 dogs Myla(corgi) and Max(yorkie) who love it., So we always look for places with good dog parks to get them exercised. We are more glampers than campers.

Crossing Creeks RV Resort (formerly Mountain View RV Resort), Blairsville, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic area and weather. We had temps from 66-81 during our stay with low humidity. Temps in Houston were hitting 100 so this was like heaven. Park is beautiful with fantastic mountain views and 2 creeks that run on both sides of the park. Just starting phase 2 of the new development by the new owners. Making it a super nice owner park like a 55+ place with those type of activities. Great food and sites to see close by. Has fast internet to stream with and good HD cable. Will be back. We camped at Crossing Creeks RV Resort (formerly Mountain View RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pick you spot for a northern direction to get the best shade. Trees are young and not much shade yet. Brasstown Bald mountain is a must see. It's about 20 mins of breathtaking drive and about a 15 degree change when you get to the top. Quaint town square with excellent food all around.

Lone Star Jellystone Park, Waller, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic place for kids, we brought 3 grand kids for a week and they loved it. So many things to do and kept them busy. Water park, slides and lazy river were great. Lots of open space for walking dogs. Fencing in a specific area for a off leash dog park would make this place an 11. We camped at Lone Star Jellystone Park in a Motorhome.

Weekends are crazy busy with golf carts, bikes and kids everywhere so be prepared for that. Tons of activities, open air movies every night. It's the best place for a family a must go park in my opinion.

Beachfront RV Park and Resort, Freeport, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

I was the only paying customer there. ( it was a 2 day stay weekdays in of off season)There were 3 other rigs in the park but they were working on the new bar/restaurant that will be open in A few weeks. Had a great site ...about 20ft from the beach. This may be a great location once they get the construction done and spend some time on the RV park. The new building is very nice and large and will be "the place" to go when you're in Surfside. You can't get much closer to the water. But too high priced in my opinion. Not a great place to bring dogs... No grass to speak of and what is there was full of sticker burrs. We camped at Beachfront RV Park and Resort in a Motorhome.

Lagoons RV Resort, Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

I have never complained about a park before but I must say that Lagoons RV park in Rockport has the worst customer service and interest in "the customer" that I have ever experienced. I heard they were sold recently and it's the new management but man they are difficult to work with. This park is NOT DOG FRIENDLY!! If you have pet's keep on looking.. They have a poor excuse for a dog walk with no lighting, pet waste stations or fence borders, just signs everywhere that say no pets. Plan on getting berated and verbally abused by the maintenance crew if your pet walks off the paved road and on to any grassy area going to and from the "walk area" or the grass area on the borders of the "walk area". Their poor customer service and attitude was astounding. We had a very bad experience and left early. I was cursed at and harassed for my dog lifting his leg and peeing on one of those signs. I just wanted to warn anyone thinking about this place for a vacation spot with their pets.

WIFI only in clubhouse and office. It was disabled for the other parts of the park. We camped at Lagoons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Llano Grande Resort and Country Club, Mercedes, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

The best overall RV Resort we have stayed at so far. Other parks that call themselves resorts can learn from this place. Great facility with large lots, best dog park ever. Unmatched entertainment with the new event center. While we were there we saw National Acts like the Oak Ridge Boys and the Bellamy Brothers and 2 great tribute bands from Nashville Eagles"7 Bridges Road and Beatles "Liverpool Legends". Also top notch local variety/dance bands. Plenty of on site food with the Cafe and Sports bar and 3 heated pools. More activities than you can do in just the month we stayed. Close by to all standard restaurants, grocery stores etc. Other than a few super windy days it was perfect. We camped at Llano Grande Resort and Country Club in a Motorhome.
