Whispering Pines Campground, Rincon, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight...family lives in area. Clean and quiet. Grass spot with ants in many places; didn't spend time outside so wasn't a problem. We camped at Whispering Pines Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bandits Roost COE, Wilkesboro, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is the place that RVrs don't want others to know about. Awesome views, great service, perfect sites. No Wi-Fi but ATT cell had three bars and LTE. Went to Mount Airy and the Wilks Heritage museum ... both were great. We camped at Bandits Roost COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Colleton State Park, Walterboro, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park! Shower house, main road, service, trails, and access to river were all really nice. WIFI worked well. AT&T Cell Phone worked well. We stayed in Flight (lot) #1. It's a pull through on a relatively steep grade. It wasn't bad, but my rear stabilizer jacks wouldn't reach the ground without about 1 foot of wood blocks under them. It's still a nice site, but most of the other sites were better, but they were taken. If you're debating staying here or at the other RV parks close by, I'd choose this one any day. My only complaint is the neighbor's barking dogs...why people think it's ok to let their dogs bark all day is beyond me. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We didn't realize there was a short hiking trail until leaving, so it may be worth checking out.

Gantt Lake RV park, Andalusia, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

The park was under construction due due some sort of drainage or sewer problem. There was a dead bird on our site; no biggie, but it looked like it had been there for a good while. The homesteaders don't tie up their dogs, and look pretty comfortable (accumulated stuff) in the park. The lake was nice, as was the country store. The WIFI wouldn't have worked at our site, but we have the Alfa Campro wifi extender, so we were good. We camped at Gantt Lake RV park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great place if you're there to fish or just spend one night, other than that, I'd probably look elsewhere. The lake was nice, but we didn't have a boat. I saw that they rent them.

River Town Campground, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

I can't speak about all lots, but lot 76 is a nightmare when it comes to the sewer hookup. See description below. The park is outside of Vicksburg, so a bit of a drive into town, but that's what we wanted. WIFI would be poor, but we have the Alfa Campro so we were good. We camped at River Town Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Take a drive down Hwy 18 and then back Natchez Trace...it's a nice drive. We went south on hwy 61, took hwy 18 North to Raymond (Port Gibson-Raymond Scenic Bypass). We had lunch in Unica at the Strong's Family Restaurant. It's rough on the exterior, but welcoming and good food on the inside. We continued on hwy 18 to Raymond and then came back via Natchez Trace.

Hitchin Post Corral and Campground, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The owner/managers were great...they us when we arrived, guided me into my site, had a fire pit ready to light (didn't use), and took a few minutes to chat. At this point, the property is rather rustic, but that is the charm. My wife and I fished in the large pond and both caught a bass, and she also caught a catfish. The power and wifi worked perfectly, sites are adequate size, and we liked where they're going with this property. Will return. We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Check out the pond...it's very nice. Also, don't pay much attention to the road leading to the property, it looks rough but no worries once you're settled.
