Delaware State Park, Delaware, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Older campground but well maintained and clean. Lots of sites, mostly shaded, but quite full on the weekends. No hose bib for potable water in our loop, so had to return to the check station to find a water point. College students running the gate could have been much more forthcoming with information. I felt they were a bit lackadaisical with their procedures and could use some adult supervision. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Picnic sites and shelters, older play grounds, marina, beach for lake swimming. Four camping loops with about 40 sites each. Close to Columbus. Made a day trip to Dayton and Wright Patterson AFB to see the museum. Well worth the hour drive and a great rainy day activity.

Levi Jackson State Park, London, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Great experience at a wonderful state park. Clean facilities, many amenities, friendly staff. Could use a bit more litter removal, but other than that, no complaints. We camped at Levi Jackson State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in the park, so didn't venture much into the community. Swimming pool, hiking trails, miniature golf, museum, mill and duck pond kept us and the grandkids busy.

Destiny Parks and Pavillion (Military FamCamp), Fort Campbell, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This park is geographically in Tennessee, just off LaFayette Blvd in Clarksville, and not on the catonement area of Ft. Campbell, so it's open to anyone traveling through the area. A few soldiers and families in the park, and many of us retired types as well. There are actually two RV parks, but we stayed at Fletcher's because of the 50 amp availability and pull through sites. Not much cell or TV reception, but you are next to the skeet range, so there is entertainment.

Take your Golden Age or America The Beautiful Passport to get the reduced rates. Open to everyone. We camped at Destiny Parks and Pavillion (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Andersonville City Park Campground, Andersonville, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here three nights and will come back. Neat, quaint spot for overnights, if you're looking for bells and whistles, go somewhere else and pay the associated prices. Near lots of history, good museums, parklike setting. May be a bit tight for larger rigs, but it is full service (30amp, sewer and basic cable), and the staff is absolutely wonderful. Did our own cooking so can't comment on local restaurants. We camped at Andersonville City Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Andersonville village, historic site, National Cemetery, POW Museum, village museum and shops, Americus GA, Plains GA are all very close. Take in the historic site and all it offers. We stayed here so we could visit Plains and attend former President Carter's Sunday School class.
