I have stayed at this campground many times over the years. It is wonderful. It is family operated. It has a beautiful oceanfront view with great ammenities. A very nice campground store too with a cozy woodstove and a dynamite view. Fantastic potlucks on the weekends, very well attended. It sells out from June 15th to the 3rd week of August most of the time so reservations are recommended. It has everything you can imagine from kayaking, to fishing charters, water taxis, and more. The cabins are mostly camping type cabins, so rustic but the best prices in Alaska. There are posts here about the bad showers. They used to have primitive showers but they added a brand new shower and bathroom house and it is really nice. The help there is seasonal, mostly college kids or retired folks. It is safe, and a wonderful view, and I think one of the nicest places to camp in Alaska. The two sons have also taken over the campground and have changed a lot in the last few years. Go there, and you won't be disappointed. Most Alaskans stay here. The road CAN be bad because it's not maintained well but that is not the fault of the campground and it is well worth the bumpy road. It's usually only bumpy after it rains and there's minimal maintenance done on it. But it doesnt stop the campground from filling up. So that should tell you something. We camped at Millers Landing in a Tent.
Great prices on kayaking. Short trips, long trips, overnight trips, all age groups. Fantastic fishing charters for halibut or salmon and best prices around. Camping cabins are rustic but best prices in Alaska. They also rent nearby cabins for other property owners of all types (luxury cabins on the oceanfront). Water taxi is awesome. Go camping in a remote area or go to Caine's Head State Park for amazing hikes. Do the hike using the water taxi there and back.
