Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park, Belleville, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Not their fault but the service road off the hwy to the park is horribly potholed. I slowed down to a crawl to get through the worst part. The park is very nice. Wide open grass fields with hookups and picnic tables. Interior roads were easy to manage in my 40' 5th wheel. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was friendly, Park was clean. They were just getting it ready for the season. Several trailers with foam boards around the bottom were in the park for the winter. Maneuvering was easy enough for my 40' 5th wheel although some trees were pretty close to other sites. We camped at Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Cedar Lake Bible Retreat & RV Park, Cedar Lake, Indiana

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

My fault I didn't look at my paperwork prior to arrival. I expected a check in process like most other parks. The emailed paperwork gives you your site # and you can turn into the CG without going to the office where it will be a bear to turn around a big camper. First impressions were not good at the site. They say no smoking there were dozens of cigarette butts around my site and other trash as well. Had to ask for a clean up. 50 feet of water hose was barely enough to reach my camper and it ran through part of my neighbors site. The roads were easy enough to maneuver with my 40' 5th wheel. We camped at Cedar Lake Bible Retreat & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

All gravel sites with hookups. very basic. Staff was friendly. Maneuverability for 40' 5th wheel was good. Some pot holes in their roads needed to be repaired. I'd stay there again for a few days to explore the area if needed. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Fifth Wheel.

Nothing fancy here. Gravel lot with spaces and close to the freeway. it was still freezing at night then and had to disconnect the water lines each night and stow the hose. It was easy enough to maneuver my 40 foot 5th wheel in the park. We camped at Grandma's RV Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

When our other arrangements failed to work for us I contacted them for a site to put my 40' 5th wheel while I stayed with family. They had one sport left with water and electric only. They made the site work for me and I appreciated their help. RV has to stay plugged in due to the residential refrig. Park was big rig friendly with fair spacing between sites. We camped at Nashville East / Lebanon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Hot Springs National Park KOA, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with friendly staff, escorted to site and was shown all the hookups and other details about the park. Almost tipped the guy. Next time I will. Big rig friendly with only a few tight turns but overall no problems. Fitting the truck and trailer on the site was a bit tight and friendly neighbor moved their truck when I departed to make it easier. We camped at Hot Springs National Park KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Los Angeles / Pomona / Fairplex KOA, Pomona, California

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: 20 minutes from the gold line, 5 minutes from the metrolink, staff was courteous, Park was clean, many spots for big rigs. I stayed there in December and got a site big enough for my trailer and tow vehicle. Cons: stayed there in January and my spot was only big enough for my trailer and they charged me additional for a parking spot (later refunded by manager when I complained). While staff was courteous, there were no personnel driving around to see what was needed like in so many other parks. There were problems with the plumbing there that week and it smelled awful occasionally. One big flaw was the laundry. For a full big park you need more than 2 working dryers. Staff, again courteous, said that they were to be repaired but nothing happened. We opted for the local laundromat. We probably won't stay there again. We camped at Los Angeles / Pomona / Fairplex KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Sequoia RV Ranch, Three Rivers, California

Overall Rating:

Park was easy to find and navigate. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of nice trees and the river borders the park. Some roads are paved, sites are gravel. Some had concrete pads on their sites for a patio. Most did not and were all gravel. Park is quiet, Wifi and cable were basic. Verizon cell was one bar LTE. Park is easy to find, quiet, and clean. The roads were narrow but the big rigs were able to manage OK. You may have to ask a neighbor to move their tow vehicle or toad when leaving. Electrical, water, cable, sewer all worked just fine. We camped at Yosemite West Mariposa KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Willits KOA, Willits, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

This park did not start well with us. We showed up about 11:00 and they informed us that their policy was $10 per hour for early check-in. I felt like they had us over a barrel. Where was I to go for 2 hours? They said it was for the extra work someone would have to do to get it ready. I paid it and was sent to a spot that was not appropriate for my 5th wheel and certainly not clean either. Luckily, one of the staff was nearby and helped me get another site and was better for the RV but again not that clean. The park has more components than any park I have ever been in. Pool, splash park,, kiddie pool, hot tub, mini golf, turtles, petting zoo. ghost town, disc golf. Train station, Lots to do but there are lots of "NO" signs everywhere. I have never seen so much signage in a park. The roads and sites are all gravel and there was quite a bit of trash around my site. As for the early fee...I went back the next day to complain and was eventually told they would give me a refund. When the statement came in it was for half of the early fee. I am not impressed with their customer service or the cleanliness of the park. We camped at Willits KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
