Copperas Creek COE, Comanche, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice COE park with plenty of space between sites. Sites are rocked, not paved. All have concrete picnic tables, many have awnings over them. We had lots of shade at site 60 and 61. Sites right on the lake have little shade. As previous reviews said - there are many grass burrs - we kept our long coated dogs in the RV most of the time. We enjoyed our stay but it was a bit far from our home and not sure we will go back. There was not anything special about it to drive that far. No Verizon service. We did not get TV reception either. We were basically disconnected all weekend. We camped at Copperas Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We went into Comanche - enjoyed shopping on the square. Very busy Brookshires in town. We also went over to Dublin and visited the bottling company. Ate at Woody's - it was excellent - highly recommend! If we would have been in town longer, we would have gone for a second visit.

Airport Park COE, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

First visit to this park. Our site, #30, had no shade and it was 104 degrees. Many sites had shade. Nice aluminum picnic table on grated surface. Most concrete pads were extra long and spacious. Signage to the park is poor. Their sign sits back off the street at the entrance. The grass/weeds needed mowing, it was over our ankles and lots of burrs. We enjoyed our weekend get away in Waco but might look at other campground options next time. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Travel Trailer.

We went to Homestead Cafe - it was an interesting place to go. They have a village surrounding it with little shops. We also went to Spice Village and The Findery and enjoyed both for shopping.

Great Plains State Park, Mountain Park, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground. Sites are rocked as well as the roads in the camping loops. Very scenic. There wasn't much shade. There were trees but small and not helpful for shade and it was hot. Sites we noticed that did have some shade were 39, 41 and 42. Sites were easy to level. The sites on the lake were not full hook-up. Full hook-up sites had a great view but were not on the lake. There was lots of grass which was nice for our dogs. We like the ease of making reservations on the Oklahoma State Park website where we were able to secure a specific site. We camped at Great Plains State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Closest big town was Snyder. It had a Dollar General but that's about it, literally. Drove 20 miles to Altus and had lunch and grocery shopped at a Super Walmart.

Lake Whitney State Park, Whitney, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park - it was full on the weekend we camped. Lots of pull thru sites, however we got there late and had a back in. We had site 21. Their back ins are wide and short. We had to park our truck next to the camper making it tight. Family camping with us in site 19 had a 5th wheel and had to park awkward to fit in their site. Pull thru sites were long and spacious. Lots of trees. Picnic table and fire ring at each site. Lots of open space for kids. Nicest sites are on the lake but the full hookups like we had are not. Whitney is a short drive and there is a Brookshires and other small town shopping. We look forward to camping here again but the key is to get a pull thru. Nice walking trails. We camped at Lake Whitney State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Black Rock Park, Buchanan Dam, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice small rv park. It's a wide open park - the spaces have lots of area between them but no privacy. Would be great for groups with multiple families to camp together. Specific sites can be reserved. Really pretty views of the lake. Full hookups, long paved pads, nice picnic area at each site with a grill and fire pit. Only negative was tv reception - few stations would come in and none of the major stations for news, etc. really impressed with this park! We camped at Black Rock Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mother Neff State Park, Moody, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park! We were only there only one night but everything was nice, new and very clean. Campsites were excellent - easy to get into and set up. Only concern would be a summer trip - not many sites with shade trees. Picnic table at each site that sits in a large cleared area with some type of crushed granite. Roads were nice and paved and pads are level and paved. Can't say enough about this beautiful park! We camped at Mother Neff State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Tawakoni State Park, Wills Point, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Love this park as a great weekend getaway from Dallas. Park is nicely trimmed up and sites are spacious. Sites are paved and level. Although the sites aren't directly on the lake, it is a short walk. So glad they have added full hookup to all the sites in one of their camping loops! We camped at Lake Tawakoni State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Eisenhower State Park, Denison, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park. We stayed in the Bois D Arc loop which is all full hookups. The spots are spacious. Our spot was fairly level but there are a lot of un-level spots at this park so come prepared with extra blocks and things to level your camper. The park is a little rustic with brush. Picnic tables are aluminum and very nice. Lots of good shade. Park hosts and rangers were very friendly. Great weekend getaway from Dallas. The lake is beautiful but can't be seen from campsites. If you are going here, look at the alternate directions on the state park website. The main road to the park is closed due to road damage from the spring floods. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Travel Trailer.

There is a Walmart at the next exit as well as lots of fast food restaurants. That's in Denison. Sherman is a short drive and there is a mall and lots of shopping. We ate at Fullbellies in downtown Sherman and enjoyed it.

Arrowhead State Park, Canadian, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful state park! We camped in the outer loop - site 5. It was nice but had little shade. The inner loop sites have more shade. The pads were very large concrete pads which was nice because it rained every day of our trip - we weren't in mud. There was a camp host that came around in a golf cart - there was no site office. The sites were labeled with our name and dates of stay. Down the road within the park was lake access - we went down in a car due to the distance. There plenty of shaded picnic tables in the park. The restrooms were regular state park ones - only as nice as the people before you left it and no air movement. We went to Eufaula for fireworks for the 4th and did some shopping in Mcalister. About 15 minutes to each. There was a concrete picnic table, fire ring and grill at each site. We enjoyed this campground and plan to return! We camped at Arrowhead State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Eufaula has a good bbq restaurant. They also have a very cute downtown area. McAlister had a Walmart and some shopping. In addition, there is a Dollar General right close to the entrance to the park in Canadian. They carry a lot of supplies and some frozen foods.

Mill Creek Ranch RV & Cottage Resort, Canton, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Our campsite was along the tree line and were about the only sites that provided shade. These were the least expensive in the park but the best as far as we were concerned. They were back in. Their pull thru sites were very long. They have a lot of kid friendly activities on Saturdays. Their restrooms were very immaculate. Our breaker kept popping but they let us borrow a 50 to 30 plug and that solved the issue. Our only concern was that they don't allow tents - which is nice - but it includes pop ups. We love sitting in our screened pop up at night and could not use it at this park. We loved this park and plan to go again. There are a lot of cool restaurants in this city and a great weekend get away spot! We camped at Mill Creek Ranch RV & Cottage Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Green-Dickson Municipal Park, Shiner, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice city-owned park that happens to have a few RV hookups. It's very clean. There is not a office on-site. On weekends - check-in is at the police station which is just a few blocks away. We were the only over-night campers the night we stayed. We felt a little uneasy, however, when we got up in the morning and realized we had left our truck windows down and found everything still in place, we knew it was a very safe location. If you want to camp out and enjoy the park, it's a great location. Would be nice for a group/family stay or reunion. We camped at Green-Dickson Municipal Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pecan Park Riverside RV , San Marcos, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We only have the very best to say about the park itself. It is a very nice campground. Our trip turned sour around 11:45am on the day we were leaving(checkout was at noon). The park booked our site to new campers coming in that had already arrived. The owner asked us if we were leaving (the trailer and truck hooked up and we were unhooking the electric) and literally stood at our site, arms crossed, and watched us load up. The new campers stood there as well. We had noted in previous reviews of this park that the owner was rude. We always try to give parks the benefit of the doubt. We had every intention of being out at the contracted time and were on track to do so. We pulled out of our site at 11:55am. On our clock, we were out on time, according to the contract, and the owners harassment was not warranted. It's a shame because we talked about returning to this park, however, we will find another park next time. There are plenty in this area. We camped at Pecan Park Riverside RV in a Travel Trailer.

Cloud Nine Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 2nd stay at this park. It is our favorite park of any we have stayed at. The staff is fantastic, even though the ownership has changed since we were last there. The views from the sites are beautiful. The sites are gravel but very level. Has a very nice game room. The restrooms were squeaky clean. We can't say enough about this park and the staff. Top-notch and then some! We camped at Cloud Nine Park in a Travel Trailer.

EZ Daze RV Park, Southaven, Mississippi

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

An excellent RV park. It was very clean. Sites and roads are all concrete. Office staff was very helpful and nice. It's close to a mall and many restaurants. If visiting the Memphis area: staying here is the best option for safety, cleanliness and an all around great RV park. The laundry facility was spotless. They even have a fenced dog run area. We gave this park a 9 only because there is some airplane noise, depending on flight patterns. Also, since it is relatively new, there is little shade. We would choose this park over any in this general area. One of the nicest parks we have ever stayed at. We camped at EZ Daze RV Park in a Motorhome.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. The staff was great and very helpful. Quite a bit of shade in this park. Nice laundry facility and curb-side trash pick-up. Only reason we did not rate it a 10 was due to the tour bus parking lot behind us - they came and went at all hours of the night. If you stay here - request a site on the other end of the campground. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the Nashville area. Convenient to many tourist attractions and restaurants. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Travel Trailer.
