Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park), Ashland, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice quiet, first come first served campground. Host greeted us upon arrival and told us of things around the area to see and do, gave us the pass codes for the showers (bathrooms and showers are located up by the enterence and beach area) and also offered us a 6 nights get the 7th free. We decided to take her up on the offer and stay a week. We camped on site #11 witch was more then large enough for our 40' 5th wheel. (Various size sites here) This campground is water and 30-50 am only. No sewer hookups. There is a dump station located at the enterance. Checkout is 11am but Plan to arrive early to get a site, they do go quickly! Wifi was not working while we were here (host told us of that). My Verizon internet service was just OK 3G or Lite but ran slow, phone calls were fine as well as texting. We also have Dish service and it worked great. There is a trail system that runs through the campground and to town. Nice bike riding or walking. Also there is a boat launch at the entrance as well. We had a very enjoyable stay! We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Ashland also Very nice visitors center with hiking trails through it gift shop etc. beautiful murals on the sides of buildings in town too. Indian Creek COE, Monroe City, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects us using our national parks senior pass. Beautiful campground but beware the ticks are bad this season. Be sure to put tick repellent on your pets and be vigilant at checking yourself, children and pets for ticks. Our site had a level paved pad. The Patio area was gravel with large grassy area to the back. We stayed on site 81 in the night hawk section which was a full hook up site and if I remember right it's 96' long!!! Plenty of room for our 40' fifth wheel with 6 slides and truck with lots of room to spare. Lots of trees and brush between sites. This particular site is in the west section that is non reservable (first come first served). Note that not all sites are full hook up. The east section is reservable and sites there are similar. Many trails to the lake nice beach and boat launch area. Had deer walking through our site almost daily and also had a couple owls. It's a Little bit of a drive to Monroe City but not bad. We had Great Verizon cell service also. Overall beautiful campground and price was great! Look forward to coming back next time through. We camped at Indian Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Prairie Band Casino, Mayetta, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Quiet, free shuttle service to casino and back. Nice dog walk area plus Bathrooms, showers and laundry room are very clean and well kept. Level full hook up sites, great water pressure and wifi. Lots of grass space between sites with nice picnic tables. If I could add one thing I only wish there would be a tree Or shade of some sort at each site. It gets pretty hot when the sun is out and if you want to sit outside or grill you tend to chase what little shade there is around the RV because the RV awning really was of no help for shading us. Shade or not we enjoyed our stay. Staff at campground and casino were very nice and helpful. Easy in easy out, Great place to stay!! We camped at Prairie Band Casino in a Fifth Wheel.

Gunsmoke RV Park, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. Sites were spacious with grass between sites and quiet in the back half. All pull through, gravel and level, few small trees. Wifi was intermittent and not able to stay connected. Good Verizon service tho. I had wondered if we should stop given all we read about the owner, But we decided to stop in to see if she had any openings. She was actually very nice to talk to. At least she takes the time to explain the rules whereas many places just give you the brochure and expect you to read it. Many don't and then wonder why they are asked to move, not do something or worse... leave. I can see why many think she's mean or strict. She's simply a "straight shooter." A, to the point, kind of person. Nothing wrong with that at all, just many take it the wrong way. Just like her saying, "Or Get out of Dodge." Well, that's an old saying in Dodge and it's in the theme of things being your at Gunsmoke RV right? Anyway she was nothing but nice to us. We noticed the day after we arrived that there was water standing on the ground around the water faucet. We walked up to let her know. She came right down to look it over, offered us extra hose to run over to another faucet and within a hour the plumbing crew was there to fix the broken pipe. Thankfully it was an easy fix for them and she thanked us for letting her know so quickly. We had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed chatting with her. Wish there would have been more things open in town when we were there. We arrived about a week early to see many sites in town, will have to come back to Gunsmoke RV later in the season to enjoy more of the town. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

La Junta KOA, La Junta, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Mostly buddy sites up front (you face your neighbor and tables for each site are side by side between RVs. That's fine if your a group camper but otherwise sites are close and not very private. Back sites are a little wider with grass between each site. They have Gravel interior roads and sites are level. Fairly easy to maneuver around campground, we were hauling a 40ft fifth wheel. Our site was long enough for our RV and had to park our truck crosswise at the front of the site to fit it in. Lots of road noise and loud banging, maybe dumpsters being dumped at stores on the other side of the fence? They say that they have excellent wifi but I could not stay connected with any of my devices. Staff was nice and easy to talk to. They said they were emailing me our receipt but have not received it as of yet so if your wanting one you should ask for a paper copy. Not my favorite place but a good place to stop for a night or two. Walmart is within walking distance. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Bayfield Riverside RV Park, Bayfield, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little campground, some road noise but the sound of the many water rapids running through outweighed that. A+ to the Owners and staff. Very nice to talk to and very helpful when we had questions on road conditions due to snowfall and getting our mail. Gravel interior roads and sites, full hook up with cable tv and excellent wifi. We stayed a week and had to stay one extra day due to weather. They were very helpful and accommodating when we needed to stay another night. Loved watching the deer come into the campground each morning. Nice little place. Will return when in the area again! We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Duke's Slickrock Grill, Campground and RV Park, Hanksville, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Nice well kept campground with young trees. We stayed in April for a week in a 40ft fifth wheel and had no trouble getting around (the area at the back for larger rigs is pretty wide open for maneuvering) all gravel roads and sites. level full hookup sites with 30/50 amp service Cabins looked new and well kept. Nice grassy areas for tents and walking dogs. Did not use but they had code entry restroom and also a laundry room. Pretty vacant while we were there but several RVs pulled in each night for overnight stays. Was not able to connect to their wifi at our site (#35) but could pick it up in the front area of the campground. (Restroom to office area) They did tell us that wifi was spotty in areas. Had extended 3G Cell service with Verizon for the most part worked well but a few dropped calls. We enjoyed our stay and staff was very friendly. Will return when we get back in the area. We camped at Duke's Slickrock Grill, Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
