Kanopolis State Park - Langley Point Area, Marquette, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The rating doesn't tell the whole story. When we pulled into this park, we loved it. The campsite that we chose near the lake was beautiful and clean. The view was gorgeous with very few other campers, so it was wonderful. The park staff were gone for the evening, so we self registered. The restroom by the office was closed for the winter (we were there May 8 and not sure when it was supposed to open). There was a toilet at the other end of the loop which had not been cleaned for what seemed like quite some time - overflowing garbage, unswept. We walked to the next campground to the comfort station and it was the same story. The showers can only be described as "icky". One shower had no working light; one was disgusting and one was barely usable. The one that we used didn't drain properly resulting in standing in a pool of water with sow bugs and june bugs floating around. The garbage containers were full. How can such a beautiful place have such disgusting bathrooms? I would not return to this park without some assurance that there was improved sanitation and upgrading of the bathrooms...what a shame. We camped at Kanopolis State Park - Langley Point Area in a Travel Trailer.

Johnny Appleseed Campground, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We travelled for 10 weeks, almost 10000 miles and I have to say that the restrooms were the best of all the places that we camped in the USA. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Even though we were camped in the city of Fort Wayne, it didn't feel that way in this lovely wooded oasis. amenities were close by for shopping and eating. Don't be deterred by the location as it is set back far enough from the road to not be too noisy. We would definitely return to this campsite in the future if we were passing through. We camped at Johnny Appleseed Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Italian restaurant (CASA RISTORANTE) is within walking distance and was fantastic - well worth the 15 minute wait to get in.

Tips for other Campers:

St.George is close by for shopping. Great hiking/biking. Beautiful scenery. A terrific park. There are only 30 sites but some of the sites are quite private with fantastic views. Approx. half the sites have services.

Beautiful spot on the San Juan and amazing petroglyphs. Stayed 3 nights at riverside. Such a nice change from RV parks. We would definitely return. Grand Canyon Camper Village, Tusayan, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We are here for a second night and will be leaving in the AM. The toilets have not been cleaned in 2 days that we know of and are in great need. In the women's restroom 2 of the 4 toilets have not had toilet paper for 2 days. Many of the sites seem small and ours is so narrow the picnic table is half on the neighbouring site. The grass/dirt lot is very uneven and our trailer support bottomed out as we drove in. Our trailer is only 15 feet long. The location is good as a shuttle bus is available close by for transport to the south rim. We will not return to this RV park. Note the price we paid did not include sewer hook-up. We camped at Grand Canyon Camper Village in a Travel Trailer.
