Pismo Coast Village RV Resort, Pismo Beach, California

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Large RV park in Pismo Beach. Very good location. Site had a restaurant and pool, but we didn't use either of them (restaurant was closed for the Holidays and it was too cold for the pool). Helpful friendly staff. Park was very clean and organized. Spaces were very adequate, although it was pretty much "wide open" without any separation barriers between units. The half of the park that had long-term units were concrete pads. the half that was designated transient was mostly gravel. Although entire park looked flat, we had one of the few sites that had enough slope to require leveling blocks. Easy walk into downtown and the shops and restaurants that are there. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pismo Coast Village RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Coyote Valley RV Resort, Morgan Hill, California

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Although this RV Park is very close to San Jose, it really feels like it's out in the country. Coyote Valley is a fairly large commercial park just south of San Jose and north of Morgan Hill. We stayed here so that we wouldn't have to tow a trailer into Pinnacles National Park (about 60 miles south). Very nice facility with super accommodating staff. They had a guide to assist in parking our trailer. The space itself was all concrete and very clean. Space between units was about 5 feet. I would have given it a better "value" rating if they had a seasonally adjusted rate for our winter stay. We camped at Coyote Valley RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA, Petaluma, California

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

This park is on the expensive side, but maybe OK given it's proximity to San Francisco and Bay Area attractions. We were just passing through and did not use any of amenities. That contributed to the bad value rating. The park had a lot of long term residents (not implying good or bad). Our space was deemed a "premium" spot, but other that being on the perimeter of the park, it was nothing special. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park), Garberville, California

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA had over 100 pull-through RV spaces, all in a big open square. Very adequate spacing between units, but no trees or other visual barriers. Maybe not the best park for you if you need privacy. Park model mobile homes were available for rent at one end of the park. Very friendly staff. We camped at Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Harris Beach State Park, Brookings, Oregon

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Another wonderful Oregon State Park. This one sits on the bluff, above the Pacific Ocean. It's a bit of a hike down to the beach, but well worth it. They were putting in upgraded power hookups, so at least 1/3 of the park was closed. They should be done by summer of 2018. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beverly Beach State Park, Newport, Oregon

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great location next to the ocean. We had a short overnight stay on our way down Hwy 101 to California. Self check-in during the winter. We were able to get a spot in Loop B, closest to the ocean. Typical state park in that we felt like we had a lot of elbow room. We camped at Beverly Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.
