Peaceful Pines RV Park, Cheney, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here annually, as our daughter and her family live in Cheney. I booked a particular site (one of the few pull-through's) back in January of this year for an August arrival. Instead, we were assigned another spot because "of the number of days we were staying". So, basically we were being penalized for staying for a longer period of time. In addition, although they allow pets, this is not a pet friendly RV Park. They are not allowed on any lawns (there are signs all over telling you to keep your dog off the grass) and in order to get to the weeds they've assigned for the pets, you either have to cut through other people's sites, or go all the way around the park to get there. There is a lot of grass, so they could easily make a small dog park that is more convenient. There is a new RV Park opening next year at Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights, and we will likely stay there instead, even though it's much farther away from our kids. We camped at Peaceful Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cranbrook / St. Eugene KOA, Cranbrook, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

I've done many reviews on this site but have NEVER given a score of 10 to any of them. Until today. Wow, this is a great campground. Brand new (in fact they are still building more sites), but it is right next to a beautiful hotel, complete with pool, spa, and fabulous restaurant. There is also a casino there. My husband had a wonderful massage at the spa. We did not use the restrooms but peeked in on them and they are like a hotel bathroom. Complete with blow dryer! Sites are very wide and level. The only negative I can think of is that the wifi wasn't very strong. No big deal. We would definitely stay here again! Best KOA we've ever stayed at and just about the best RV park we've ever stayed at. We camped at Cranbrook / St. Eugene KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Golden Eco-Adventure Ranch & Campground, Golden, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Here's the good - the sites are quite far apart from each other. And are very forested, protecting from the heat. Town is close by, owners are friendly. Really fun to watch the hang gliders landing on their property. Here's the bad. Mosquitoes. Mosquitoes like we've never seen before. Made us want to stay inside at all times, and if not, we were running to the truck to get out of there as quickly as possible. Also, we have a 38' 5th wheel and getting in to the forested area, and getting out was difficult. They should spend some time pruning the tree branches if they want bigger rigs coming in. Internet was there, but not very reachable from where we were in the park. We camped at Golden Eco-Adventure Ranch & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley, White Sulphur Springs, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This park isn't spectacular, but the view makes it worthwhile. There are mountains almost all the way around as far as the eye can see. Staff was friendly, site was mostly level. However, there is VERY little to do in this area without driving for quite some time. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Fifth Wheel.

Get supplies before you get there - there are two small grocery stores. Someone on this site recommended the Memorial Falls hike (a 38 mile drive each way), which we did, and it was quite lovely. Other than that, not much to do. Glad we didn't plan a week here!

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

After reading some of the reviews, I think we hit the jackpot with this historic, first ever KOA! Our site was beautiful! They have a very nice pool, a putt-putt course that was quite popular, bikes to rent, etc. The only reason they did not get a '10' was because they never answered their phone and that was very frustrating, as we needed to speak with them before we got there. All we got was a recording. When I checked in, I let them know that there might be a problem with their phones because no one answered after several attempts. The lady rolled her eyes, and simply said, "yeah we are too busy to answer the phones sometimes." NOT good customer service. That said, the rest of the stay was great and we would absolutely stay here again, if we go through Billings. We camped at Billings KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Eagle RV Park, Thermopolis, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pluses - the owner is extremely nice and accommodating. There were some shade trees too, which was good because we got there in a heat wave. Minuses - the sites are EXTREMELY narrow. We were so close to our neighbors that when we put the bedroom slide out, it was almost hanging over the neighbor's picnic bench! Thankfully, we were able to negotiate out of there easily when we left. Decent location; some road noise but not too bad. Wi-fi was good. We camped at Eagle RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Wyoming Dinosaur Museum was outstanding! Be sure to take the time to go there. Also, it was too hot to go into the hot springs, but they are beautiful and you can walk on the boardwalk around them and enjoy the incredible colors. Be sure to be brave and cross the suspension bridge across the river!

Granite Corner RV Park, Walden, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The owners of this park are VERY friendly and want to do their best. That said, this is a weird park. It's situated right in a neighborhood. There are only 3 sites. No wi-fi. The owners were not there when we pulled up, there is no office. So I called the first number listed on their sign and no one answered. With the second number, I connected and they said they would be right over. Meanwhile, we had made the decision to pull into one of the spots. Our spot was a bit uneven, but roomy. Not a whole lot to do in this area except go see the State Forest State Park. Great park if you are just passing through, but not a destination spot by any means. We camped at Granite Corner RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ouray KOA, Ouray, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Ouray - what a gorgeous place! This KOA is 4 miles north of Ouray and 6 miles south of Ridgway, so it's located perfectly. Staff was very friendly and it's a nice park. Our site wasn't very clean (lots of leftover food around the fire pit), which we needed to clean due to bears in the area. Our site was level and fairly easy to get into. Their BBQ dinner that they serve on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays is outstanding! Live entertainment was quite good too. That was a nice surprise! We camped at Ouray KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The Views RV Park & Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park and depending on where your site is, your views can be phenomenal! Our site was mostly level, the park was very clean the the owners took customer service to a new level, even hand delivering our packages that had arrived in the mail that day. It's close to the McPhee Reservoir and the Anastasi Vistor's Center. Not too far from Cortez (about 15 minutes). We would stay here again! We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pagosa Springs RV Park, Cabins & ATV Rentals, Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The owner and his team make it a high priority to make you a returning customer! The sites are very nice. He's set up a little store and there is a large coffee shop under construction. We were greeted with our choice of a bottle of wine, and some ice cream. No other RV park has offered us that before and we've stayed at many parks. There is no cell service, but you can use your phone with wifi calling. Wifi was pretty good most of the time. The only negative is that this park is 10 miles outside of town. But for some, that's a plus. We would definitely stay here again if/when we come through Pagosa Springs. We camped at Pagosa Springs RV Park, Cabins & ATV Rentals in a Fifth Wheel.

Route 66 RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed this park! We have stayed at many, many RV parks and this was by far the nicest pool we have seen. The staff are extremely friendly. The sites are all concrete and level and all have beautiful views of the mountains in the distance. We are not gamblers, but we had a very good dinner in the casino one night. They will pick you up and take you there if you don't feel like walking. If you put your garbage out "curbside" by 10 am each morning they will pick it up for you. Their Wi-Fi was extremely strong (a real rarity!). The only disadvantage, and it may be an advantage to some, is that it's about 15 miles outside of Albuquerque. But no big deal, we just made trips. Great park! We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful spot! Sites are large, easy to get into, some with amazing views. The lagoons are lovely and there is much to do. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because there's no sewer. But there is a dump station right at the entrance. Verizon reception is good, but not ATT. Still, well worth the price of admission! We camped at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This location is all about...well....location. A huge parking lot, with wide spaces but rows are tight. You will not be greeted at all, but given a list of rules. Worst internet connection we've had in 9 months of traveling, including tiny little towns. That said, it's a great location. Bike trails and lots of things to do very near here. What really angered me though, was being charged extra to park an additional vehicle overnight with absolutely no warning of the cost. Right after we left, we received an email informing us we had been charged for this. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. Over all, if you are willing to put the horrible greeting, extra charges, and lousy internet aside, there really is a lot to do in this area. My suggestion would be to look at other parks in the area first. We camped at Mission Bay RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Klamath Falls KOA, Klamath Falls, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A pretty nice park situated close to a Fred Meyer and a mall. But no one has mentioned the "midges" - the thousands, I mean THOUSANDS of non-biting bugs that look like mosquitoes. Thank goodness they don't bite, but we had to hurry in and out of our rig and still spent quite some time killing the little pesks in our rig. Apparently, they are quite common in the summer here. This isn't anything against this KOA, but it is something to be aware of. Grounds are nice though. We camped at Klamath Falls KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Ravenwood RV Resort, Athol, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

GREAT place to stay to take the grandkids to Silverwood! The sites were beautiful and spacious. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They do everything to make your stay enjoyable. The pool was beautifully maintained. We would absolutely stay here again. My only complaint is that we couldn't get a site with sewer (they are awaiting final inspection) but that was fine for the three nights we were there. Can't recommend it enough!
