Pioneer Village Campground, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Campground was located in the country but was still close to interstate. It was exceptionally well kept and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It was a beautiful location. We travel with our dogs and there was plenty of space for them. We will stay here again when we travel through this area. Very nice! We camped at Pioneer Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

R Shaefer Heard COE, West Point, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This park was absolutely beautiful. Stopped for an overnight visit and would have loved to stay longer. Big sites with plenty of room. We were in a back-in slot and there was plenty of room to stay hooked up. The sunset over the lake was breathtaking! We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. We camped at R Shaefer Heard COE in a Fifth Wheel.

A Stone's Throw RV Park, Lamont, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We booked a site online and when we arrived someone else had parked there so we chose another site. If you don't book online the cost is less; there is a sign indicating rates that were $3.50 less. This is a minimal park but adequate and convienient for an overnight stop. No frills but clean, ok WiFi, and sites were a bit narrow but worked fine with our slides.

A dog park is advertised but the grass was very high and there were old chairs stored in it, that I was concerned my dogs could get cut on.

Will we stay there again? Maybe; it's about half way between our two sons homes. Hard to rate this park. Overnight is fine but don't expect too much. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Indian Springs Campground, Hickory, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We were traveling on I-40 and needed a one night stay. The campground was located just a short distance off exit 119a so was convenient. With that said the hill is steep to get there but was well worth it. The campground was extremely nice and felt like an oasis of green after a long day on the road. It was clean, very well kept up and everyone was friendly. There was no cable but that was fine with us. We would highly recommend this campground. We camped at Indian Springs Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Overall this was a nice park. Well kept and friendly staff. 30amp electric was a bit of a pain and though we were careful we did trip the breaker a few times. We were there for 6 nights in a 5th wheel. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Site 700 is by dump station and it smelled! Couldn't sit outside. There is a wonderful dog park about five minutes from the park. Two Rivers Dog Park was clean and spacious. Highly recommend it if you are traveling with a dog that needs to run a bit! Downtown we loved Roberts Western World. It was recommended by a friend and was the best "downtown " music we heard!

Graceland RV Park & Campground, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 2 nights and the facility was fine. It was clean and neat. The proximity to Graceland was our reason for choosing this campground and we were not disappointed! The entrance was right across the parking lot! No fenced in dog area, though a suggestion to the campground would be to add one because "boomers" like to travel with their furry friends, but there was a large grassy area to walk them. We had heard from another camper at an earlier stop that this area of town was dicey but we felt safe. No issues. I'd stay here again if I were to return to Graceland but definitely not as a destination. We camped at Graceland RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Oscar Scherer State Park, Osprey, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Lots of "buffer" between slots. Negatives were many sites were extremely difficult to back in to and we arrived in a thunderstorm and many sites, including our original assigned site, were flooded. If you are selective when picking a site I feel you will truly enjoy your stay in this beautiful area. We camped at Oscar Scherer State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lakeside RV Park, Livingston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This was a beautiful and immaculate park. We stayed one night in a pull through space. We did not need to unhook our vehicle from 5th wheel. Plenty of length but only a strip of grass between spaces. While this park is extremely nice, it is more for a relaxing weekend than a one night stop. It was a bit of overkill for one night and pricey. All in all I would recommend this park if you are up for some R&R but as a one night we probably won't stop here on our next trip through. We did not have picnic table nor fire rings at pull through sites. We camped at Lakeside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunset RV Park, Sunset, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night at this park while traveling to a destination. The park was not fancy but it was nice and fulfilled our needs. Our site was level enough that we didn't need to unhook our truck from our fifth wheel. Little restaurant close by could walk to. Easy on and off entry from road. Convenient. The park could use a little work but we would stay again and would recommend it for a one night stay. We camped at Sunset RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Corral RV Park, Dalhart, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight in this campground for one night while traveling to another destination in our 5th wheel. We found the service outstanding! We got lost due to construction in the area and the host stayed late and talked us in. The sites were of average size either plenty of room to leave our 5th hooked up to our truck. The park was obviously well cared for and spotless. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it. We camped at Corral RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Park, Mosca, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This was the last park we stayed at on our Colorado adventure. The best thing about the campground is it is very close to Great Sand Dunes, which is very remote. It was a decent campground though sites were close. There was not much of a dog walk area But the dogs did fine with what was available. During our stay a wind storm unexpectedly came up and the staff was very helpful in dealing with it. What the park lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in location. For that alone we would stay here again and can recommend the park. We camped at Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We had anticipated staying one more night to see everything at Great Sand Dunes but did not. The dunes are fascinating but the park is fairly small unless you plan to do the road that requires 4 wheel drive. Please note we are your average retirees and hike a bit. If you are an avid hiker or biker this park may require more than one day to see. We felt one day was adequate. Just a thought...

Haviland Lake, San Juan National Forest, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Our stop here was for one night on the way to another destination. It was a beautiful setting in the woods with a lake and would have liked to stay longer because it was so nice there. Everything appeared to be in tip top shape. The turnoff to the park is not well marked; it looked more like a driveway to the farm located at the entrance. We were a late arrival and there was no one to check us in. We have done that before and it is no big deal and very easy. However, the rates were not posted and they should be. We relied on a previous RV Reviews rate and that was what we paid. We were gone early and did not get to discuss if it was correct rate. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Haviland Lake, San Juan National Forest in a Fifth Wheel.
