Oasis RV Park and Golf Resort, Ephrata, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We love this park. Folks are friendly. Cute little golf course. Looks like the park is fairly old but the new owners are working hard to renovate. Little pond for fishing. Basketball. Mini-golf. Pool. We camped at Oasis RV Park and Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tamarack RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park seemed like a glorified parking lot. Tall trees, yes, but piney foliage so high that they provided little shade. Sites very close together and hard to maneuver. The park was located right next to a busy street. No view. Folks that arrived after us were victim of a scheduling snafu and had to be sent away, although they had reservations. The year round residents gave this a shanty-town feeling. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Meadow RV Park, Hungry Horse, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for five nights, including the 4th of July. We loved it. Lots of shade. Pretty little catch and release pond surrounded by a nice little meadow. Roads maybe a little difficult for bigger rigs, but possible. The bathrooms were the best we've seen, must be new. WiFi nearly nonexistent, but the park was full. Sites not too small. Few mosquitoes. Easy drive to Glacier National Park. No sewer, but dump site available. We camped at Mountain Meadow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Miles City KOA, Miles City, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Everything was fine. The young men who checked us in were very personable and helpful. It would be a more pleasant park if the grass at the sites was not dead. Very nice walking park nearby. Site surface was gravel and featured a fire ring and picnic table. We camped at Miles City KOA in a Motorhome.

Great Falls KOA, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

Checked in on July 1. We were told the sites in the main part of the park might not accommodate our 27 foot motorhome, so asked us to park in a newer open camping area. It was hot and there was zero shade! We felt like we were on the moon. The main part of the park looked nice and shady and it appeared there would have been room for our rig. They told us there would be fireworks at 10:00, but we turned in early because we had to get an early start. The fireworks were loud and seemed to go on for a long time. Then the campers around us kept setting off more. We were not able to sleep well. I would suggest they limit the fireworks to 30 minutes, then enforce the quiet time. Nice waterpark for kids. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground is not a destination campground, but is find for a one-night stayover. They have 4 Wi-FI towers, but none worked very well for us. Sites are close together, but there is a hedge in between. We camped at Bismarck KOA in a Motorhome.

O'Neil Creek Campground, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This campground had EVERYTHING. Would be a fun place to stay for families -- bouncy house/basketball pit, jumping pillow, playgrounds and play structures, putt-golf course, great pedal cars, basketball, volleyball, and a beautiful creek meandering through the park. Many facilities, well stocked store, friendly staff. That said, most of the residents appear to be seasonal or permanent and the best sites along the creek were theirs. As a visitor, we feel like intruders in a well-established "mobile home park." The few pull-thru sites for visitors were very close together. We camped at O'Neil Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Cecil DePeau Bay Shore Park Campground, Green Bay, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Because of a scheduling snafu on our part, we arrived on a busy June Saturday with no reservation. The camp hosts worked with us and, with the help of a very kind Ranger found us a good site. (We had begun looking for WalMarts!) The campground is beautiful, lots of trees, close to the water. A walking trail down to the lake is challenging. Bathrooms were old, but clean. We would recommend this campground. . We camped at Cecil DePeau Bay Shore Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Illinois Beach State Park, Zion, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very beautiful spot. Spacious sites. Water access. Good walking and biking trail along Lake Michigan. Good mix of tents and rv sites. We were a bit disappointed by the dilapidated abandoned-looking state of the water access trail and ancient abandoned concession stands on the lake with gang griffiti painted over, but other than that, this was a great place. We would come again. Bathrooms old but clean and functioning. Campground has lots of trees -- good place to hang a hammock. No water hookup or sewer hookup, but both available on campground. We camped at Illinois Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Granite Hill Campground & Adventure Golf, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

PROS: Beautiful setting outside Gettysburg. Easy entrance and short trip to Gettysburg. Outstanding setting and good amenities. We hope to come back someday during one of the twice-yearly Bluegrass festivals. Nice stage. Lots of different camping sections. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is that the bathroom was not very clean when I used it. Also, dim and unheated, with shower temp at lukewarm. Brrr. We camped at Granite Hill Campground & Adventure Golf in a Motorhome.

Austin Lake RV Park and Cabins, Toronto, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

PROS: Situated in beautiful canyon, with loops of camping sites about a mile into the canyon, with a creek meandering through. Large lake with paddleboats. Numerous playground areas for kids. Good signage. Well maintained. CONS: Restrooms were basically outhouses, although they did have RV toilets. No sinks, just a hand sanitizing station outside of each. The approach to the park is about a mile of a narrow, winding steep one lane road -- scary in an RV. Poor Wi-Fi connection in the park. When we visited, I think we were the only visitors, although the park was about half full of year-round residents. The year-round rigs were well maintained, with landscaping, storage sheds, permanent decks, golf carts. However, we felt like intruders in a mobile home park. We camped at Austin Lake RV Park and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Dayton KOA, Brookville, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We have been traveling for nine days. This campground is by far the best one yet. Perfectly maintained, with fresh flower hanglng pots on the covered bridge spanning a meandering creek and on the rental cabins scattered throughout. Two lakes with fountains for boating. Playgrounds, minigolf, and even a "pan for gold" activity for the kids, as well as horseshoe pits, basketball court and soccer fields. Multiple loops of shady campsites. Fresh gravel on sites. Each with a firepit and some with patios. A little store, a "cafe" and several beautiful gazebos. Excellent landscaping. So, so nice. It was a shame that we were only there one night. The staff appeared to be mostly college age folks. Very friendly. I could see having a family gathering there. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Motorhome.

Lakeside RV Park, Davenport, Iowa

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

As other reviews have noted, there are potholes at the entrance that should be repaired, but this is a fine stop for passing through. Easy access to the highway, but far enough away to be quiet. Not a resort, but pleasant and well-maintained. There is a pool and playground. The folks are friendly. There is an exceptionally good restaurant nearby (The Machine Shed) where we ate the best dinner of our trip so far. We camped at Lakeside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful and expansive park, very suitable for group camping. Basketball, volleyball, pool, playground, group camp cabins. Close to Mount Rushmore and other local sights. The restrooms were very nice and clean, but not very close to the RV site loop where we were camped. The park was beautiful and spacious.
