Springfield Campground COE, Anderson, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

This campground has the best sites on this lake. Most of the sites are large and a large percentage of them are on the lake and have awesome views. We enjoyed many sunrises and sunsets. You are about 10 minutes from groceries. The only drawback in this campground are the ants. Be prepared with your ajax or whatever you use for ants. if you deal with properly then it is no big deal. This campground is worth it even with the ants. We camped at Springfield Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Dreher Island State Recreation Area, Prosperity, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Fairly level site with a beautiful view of the lake. There was a bass tournament while we were there so a bit noisier on the lake. We enjoyed bike riding around the campground. Overall this is a beautiful state park. We camped at Dreher Island State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Clinch State Park, Fernandina Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 2 nights. Site was level and we had plenty of room. We stayed at the river campground, plenty of shade. The beach campground was total exposure without a single tree. We had a short walk to the inlet where you can fish (flounders a plenty) and catch gorgeous sunsets. The park is beautiful, the fort very interesting. We rode our bikes to the fort and the beach. The only drawback is that the site are dirt, no gravel. We had to be aware of not tracking dirt into our campers. On a rainy day you would probably deal with mud. We camped at Fort Clinch State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mosquitos were not an issue but were around. In rainy season or rainy days that might be more of an issue so be prepared to deal with them.

Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA, Cartersville, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Campground off the highway a little bi and was very quiet. Most sites had shade but not all.The sites were level for the most part and not very spacious. The pool was great and refreshing. The bathrooms need an overall makeover. The camp host are over loaded they could use some summer help. The campground was sold out, better to make a reservation. We camped at Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Benton KOA, Benton, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA looks like it needs an upgrade, it appeared beat. For the money which did not include sewer it felt $10 over priced. They are opening 7 new pull thru sites around the street which will be nice once they are complete. The hosts were friendly, the pool was refreshing but really deep. We camped at Benton KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The campground was immaculate. The sites were level and fair amount of space between. The hook ups were convenient and we had a tree for some shade!! Not many trees in Kansas. I would highly recommend this KOA. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA, Oak Grove, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were very tight. The adjoining site had hookups right next to our site. their septic pipe was literally 6" from out picnic table. I believe these site were meant to be used from the opposite direction but for some reason the way we had to pull in the neighbors hook up facilities were right next to us. The salt pool was great, showers, bathrooms and laundry were immaculate. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain Landing Suites & RV Park, Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

WE really enjoyed this quite wooded RV park. The campground was immaculate, the showers, laundry, restrooms were spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful. Most site had partial shade, a few did not not. The sites were spacious and most were long, easily handling the largest rigs. Downtown Pagosa was minutes away and all stores were also minutes away. We were here in the later part of May and he weather was perfect. I would definitely return to this RV park again. We camped at Mountain Landing Suites & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground), Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Since you can't make reservations at this campground we decided to come a little early to check it out. Upon arrival which was a Thursday we founds several empty sites and we styles in for a 3 night stay which ended up being a 4 night stay. We chose a site on a running creek with shoe trees. It is perfect. The site is spacious with a concrete pad with all the amenities - electric, water and sewer. The site is level and comes with a cool breeze. From this campground you can easily access the downtown bathhouses which we soaked it for $20. We took a ride up to Mount Ida which is the quartz crystal capital of the world. You can go into the mine or field and keep whatever you find for the senior rate of $6 each. Everyday we were here there were camp sights open even over the weekend, so don't worry about it being filled. This might change on the summer, we camped in the second week of May. I highly recommend this campground, it is beautiful, clean and very peaceful. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Village Creek State Park, Wynne, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We found this campground very quiet and relaxing. We camped in the lower loops and found all the sites very level. The campground was clean, had water and electric. We had a great bike ride down to the visitors center/store. The ladies down there were extremely friendly and helpful. There is plenty to do at this park from boating, bike riding, horse back riding and hiking. It is 13 miles off off I-40 but worth the trip. We camped at Village Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Piney Grove COE, New Site, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Many sights on the water. Spacious, quiet and relaxing. Our site is 47 and we are sitting on a small peninsula ten feet from the water. The campground is a bit removed from highway but the roads in were excellent. All the facilities are in great shape. They have a laundry, swimming area and boating. Rest rooms are very clean. They maintain the campground very well. It shows they take pride in making this campground special. For $12/night on the water it is hard to beat. We extended our stay an extra night. This campground is off the charts. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Travel Trailer.

Roosevelt State Park, Morton, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Incredible! We are sitting 20' from the lake. Flat pad and room for my truck. Beautiful breeze, quiet and relaxing. This park is a winner. We arrived at 1 pm and we drove around and picked an available site. Don't listen to the reviews about narrow roads; they were fine. We camped at Roosevelt State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Manatee Springs State Park, Chiefland, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Site 58 - quiet - lots of deer, relatively flat, a sandy site. We stayed one night April 30th. Temperature was 89 during day and stayed rather warm at night - there were gnats out - bring gnat repellant. We were told the best time to come and see Manatees is February. Winter months no gnats. Bathrooms were excellent. We camped at Manatee Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.
