Babcock State Park, Clifftop, West Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Well maintained, beautiful state park. Our site was on the edge of the woods, and very private. Many trails to hike, from easy to difficult. Interior roads are paved and a bit tight in spots. Not all sites are level, but ours was. We camped at Babcock State Park in a Motorhome.

Maumee Bay State Park, Oregon, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Very well maintained state park -- clean and manicured. Bike, hike, swim, it's all here. The Friends of Maumee Bay even had coffee and donuts in the shelter on Sat and Sun, plus an ice cream social Sat night. The only downside is that there is only 1 dump station for a 250+ campsite park. Lucky we stayed until Monday morning, so we did not have an issue dumping. Campsites were private and well laid out, with trees between the sites. Our loop backed up to an open meadow / woods. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

Beagle Bay RV Haven and Campground, Sarcoxie, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park may have been a haven several years ago, but it has a terrible lack of maintenance. The place was messy and needs a lot of TLC. There were a lot of seasonal people there--we were probably the only overnighters. The "fire ring" was a small circle of rocks. The swing was covered with lichen or moss. In the evening, the manager was out behind the camping area where the walking trails are shooting his .22 rifle. There were several junked RVs on site, and what appeared to be a motel from years gone by falling in on itself. The office was a mess. We did not look at the restrooms or showers. We stayed overnight on our way to Oklahoma. The only good thing was that it is right off I-44. We camped at Beagle Bay RV Haven and Campground in a Motorhome.

Ramsey Lake State Park, Ramsey, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed on a weeknight in early May. Sites were a bit close, but that was not an issue since there were only 4 other campers on the grounds. Very clean and well maintained. We had a spot overlooking the lake. Restrooms and showers were very clean. We camped at Ramsey Lake State Park in a Motorhome.
