Travelers World RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

When you turn into park, pull straight ahead. It wasn't immediately obvious to us. Checking was very easy and Delia was so helpful! Easy to get into our level and very clean site. Only odd thing was the electric hook up was on the passenger side of the RV. It wasn't that way in all sites, but we did see it in quite a few. Laundry room spotless with two folding tables and plenty of machines. Fenced area for dog off leash. Convenient to bus stop to get downtown or to Alamo and only about 2 miles from San Antonio Mission. WIFI excellent. All interactions with staff pleasant. Would definitely stay again! We camped at Travelers World RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Quiet Creek RV Resort, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We made reservations online. $90 deposit required, in other words full prepay. Never had that experience. I put the address in our GPS and then we were completely confused because the sign said The Vineyards at Fredericksburg, nothing about Quiet Creek RV Park. We ended up going by it and then turning around (not that easy), pulling in and asking another resident if we were in right place. Yes, name change! Check in was easy and our site was perfect, way to the back so no road noise. They have a nice grassy area in the middle of the park and a great fenced dog area. WIFI was decent, quieter slow but we have come to expect this now that everyone has a device or two or three! We use satellite so did't attempt cable hook up but it appears people have had issues with it. As others have mentioned, the placement of the picnic table is very odd. Way to the rear on a concrete slab and you are basically sitting next to your neighbors sewer hookup. We didn't use for that reason and admonishments about putting anything in the grass kept us from moving it! My only complaint is the confusion about the name. A simple email advising this would have saved us some anxiety at the end of a long driving day as others have mentioned, the entrance is at the top of the hill as it changes to two lanes so use caution n. We camped at Quiet Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Quite close to town so convenient. Post office right on the way if you need it. HEB grocery not far either. Huge store. Excellent wine selection. Busy Bee Business across from HEB very helpful as we needed to have copies made. We were here on a weekend. Town packed and parking nearly non existent. We chatted with a young couple who told us they don't even try to drive to town. They use Uber

B.J.'s RV Park, Terlingua, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We made reservations which required one night deposit via snail mail using a check. BJ's accepts only cash or checks. Upon arrival, the signage wasn't clear to us, then saw the sign to register in the clubhouse laundry area. I had called the number and the owner told us what site. Site was reasonably level, hooks ups good and the water good. The bathroom/shower is in clubhouse. We didn't use but it was clean. Two washers and dryers in clubhouse also. Honor system $2.50 per load and both worked well. Clubhouse very clean and has a little library to leave or exchange books. We camped at B.J.'s RV Park in a Motorhome.

Carlsbad KOA, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly staff. Generous spaces. Pet friendly with two fenced play areas for off leash and a nice area to walk dogs. A bit far from the Caverns. About 20 min. from Carlsbad. They have on site BBQ and will deliver to your RV. Would stay again. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Caverns, of course. Elevators were out of service during our visit. We tried to go on the way into Carlsbad but please note there is very limited parking for RVs, especially long ones! So we made that 6 mi. drive up and couldn't stay. We went to Sitting Bull Falls. Amazing country and the falls were great. You can get wet there, and dogs are welcome to splash around on leads. Great picnic area.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are pretty close together, there is a nicely landscaped privacy screen on passenger side. No picnic tables. Spots have you parked facing opposite from your neighbor (side by side), so on the driver's side we were about two feet from our neighbor with our slides out. The grounds are meticulous. Nice dog area, fenced so dog can be off lead. Convenient to services and Old Mesilla. Very friendly staff. We would stay again, just thought for the price a table would have been nice. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort), Coleville, California

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We got a late start from our CA spot so finding this spot was a real treat! It is near the road but we didn't notice much road noise. Check in was quick and friendly. Our spot was very nice and we had a beautiful view of the mountains. We had a very brief stay as we had a lot of miles to cover the next day, but we would definitely come and stay longer! Newberry Mountain RV and Motel Park, Newberry Springs, California

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here twice--once in the hot, hot, summer and we were so grateful for the pool to cool off! The last time was in November, so the temperature more comfortable and we didn't use the pool. There is a big pond with ducks. Some road noise from I-40 but it didn't keep us awake. Extremely friendly woman that runs the place, very helpful. Some long term folks, not an issue. It is a great stop for us when traveling from AZ to CA. Would stay again. We camped at Newberry Mountain RV and Motel Park in a Motorhome.

Obviously putting a lot of work into this park. The people are so friendly and helpful and the spaces are huge! This is our regular route when we travel from AZ to CA and now we have a nice place to stop! Highly recommend! We camped at Gila Bend KOA (formerly Augie's Quail Trail RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Manzano's RV Park, Silver City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Oh my gosh what a gem of a place! We were only going to stay 4 nights and ended up staying almost two weeks while we waited for our AZ town to cool down a bit. The owners are beyond fabulous. The "clubhouse" was actually a home once upon a time and now is a lovely place to hang out with a front porch and rocking chairs. It is just outside of Silver City. Owner will call you and make sure you know how to get there.

The only drawback is the dirt road getting into the park. It is very full of ruts and washboarding so take it slow. Once you get there though--heaven! She does have some long term folks, all very nice. There are limited spots for big rigs and it can be tricky getting around as it is an older park. We absolutely would stay and will stay here again! Can't say enough good things about this park and you will love the owners. We camped at Manzano's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Boot Hill RV Resort, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Terrific owners, very helpful and friendly. Spotless park. It is on the highway so there is road noise but it didn't bother us. No trees so no shade. Two dog exercise areas, fenced. Spaces very generous. Convenient location.

One downside is the exit: no traffic light and if you are going left you have to cross two lanes of traffic first to make the turn and it is a busy highway. Would stay again. We camped at Boot Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pony Soldier RV Park, Lingle, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was nearly empty when we stayed here. Super nice owners and they keep grounds very clean. Our spot had new hookups but it was mostly dirt and dead grass. The spots that are not designated "big rig" are on grass and very nice. There is noise from trains and there are a lot of them so if that bothers you... Laundry room very clean and reasonable. We would stay again. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is quite a distance from town which I didn't realize when I made reservations. There was a lot of work being done on I-25 which made driving through Colorado Springs quite a chore. Upon arrival the checkin was smooth and we were guided to our site which was a good thing because we never would have round it on our own! Office staff very friendly.

Our site was a nice one EXCEPT we faced Barrett Rd. which is the main route for a quarry further up the way. That meant from 6:30 AM to 4 PM there were huge trucks going back and forth which made a lot of noise. Paying $52 for our spot I felt was outrageous for that reason. As for the park, it is a very busy place, very well kept with nice landscaping. I would consider staying here again if we were to return to Colorado Springs, but I would make certain we were not close to the road. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Big Pine Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

I really want to give a good rating because the people are so nice. But...if you have a big rig I would not recommend. There are a couple of spaces you will fit, but the site is narrow and dirt. We stayed in site 6 which is quite near the road so there was some road noise. The user level is pretty tight. Small rigs and trailers would be fine and as I said, super nice owners. We camped at Big Pine Campground in a Motorhome.

Badlands / White River KOA, Interior, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

What a friendly staff this KOA has! The park itself is very nice as well. Pool was being redone so we didn't swim. Lots of places to walk the dogs. It was early in the season, so not terribly crowded. Extremely well cared for, after each camper departed, picnic tables were scrubbed down. I have NEVER seen that and we have stayed in many RV parks. A real oasis in the badlands with its proximity to the White River, plenty of trees and shade. Would definitely recommend and would stay again! We camped at Badlands / White River KOA in a Motorhome.
