Oak Knoll Campground, Pauma Valley, California

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed here for a couple months. The roads in the park are a bit narrow and rough for rv's to traverse. In spots they are nearly impassible and heavily rutted. Few spots are level. Mine was so unlevel I could not level my rig. The only internet available was theirs though they told me I would be able to get my own wired -sure, if you want to put up a 30 ft tower for satellite reception as I later found out! Their wifi is highly weak and unreliable and they'll charge you for that. Their laundryroom and single washer and 2 dryers were dirty. My clothes came out smelling worse than they went in. It's 15 mi through the beautiful mtns for shopping and descent food -Escondido. The worse part is they for some reason wanted to keep moving me to a different spot each month. That was maddening. The lease agmt they will want you to sign requires you to waive 1 or more rights. I will never be back and strongly recommend you NOT visit. It's a beautiful area, but I could not find a worthwhile park around for fair value. I would consider another region. Beautiful area, but lousy park. We camped at Oak Knoll Campground in a Motorhome.

Pima Swan RV Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed 2016 winter here. It's a fairly noisy park with nearby roads and dogs in and around park. One dog -pit bull, in park is kept inside a fence around a mobile and kept jumping the fence and attacking other dogs and campers. There is a surcharge for their elec so you pay more than the local rate -17.8c. Parking is insufficient -cars are parked in roadway making it hard to get in/out. I probably will not be back and caution others from. We camped at Pima Swan RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It's a bit of a dicey area, but close to shopping and cafes. Tucson Tamale is great.

Rio Robles RV Park, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

Just had a very pleasant stay here. It's 1st rate clean, quiet and very well kept. There's ample shopping nearby and some good food to be found. There's even a public walking path in close proximity that runs about 3 mi along the river. I will readily be back and highly recommend. It's one of the best parks I've stayed at and an excellent rate of $285/mo plus elec which is low -no more than 12c/kwh. We camped at Rio Robles RV Park in a Motorhome.

Red Dot RV Park, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed 2 nts as a test to see if I cared to stay longer and while the park was in poor condition considered staying a full month only because it was quiet and close to where I wanted to be and had a reasonable rate with available wired internet, but the mgr flatly and without shame renegged on a verbal agmt to let me pay the difference to finish the month so I stayed 1 more nt and left the next morn. The mgr is dishonest (not entirely unusual for rv park managers), unhelpful, and extremely impolite. The building material of choice in this park is duct tape based on how many trailers in this park use it. The road is in poor shape as is the rest of the park. It is dingy and dirty. I will not be back EVER and highly recommend to avoid these crooks. They cannot be trusted and will swindle you if given the chance. We camped at Red Dot RV Park in a Motorhome.
