Cathead Creek Ranch and RV Park, Darien, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Really, the only bad thing I can say about this park is the biting insects are really bad -deer flies, noseeums, skeeters, etc. Otherwise, the park is fine and for $375/mo incl elec and wifi it's a good deal. The wifi worked about as well as any park I've been in. The insects may be fine over winter, but are a menace in summer and spring. You cant open your windows because of noseeums. Plus, the park has no trees for shade so the sun can scorch. It is a beautiful area, just too overran w biting insects for me. We camped at Cathead Creek Ranch and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Palm & Pines RV Park, Felda, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

The monthly rate was $475 incl elec and wifi which only works near the office and may not work at all for days at a stretch. The laundry room needs updating -the washers are rusting and the dryers may operate too hot. Otherwise, a pleasant park and owner who may be about to sell. Fire ants may be a problem. We camped at Palm & Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pine Lawn Ranch (55+ park), Prescott, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Long term discount if you stay 4 mos. Obtain copy of rental agmt you must sign in advance -you may not like the terms. This is the only park I stayed at that requires you to cut the grass around your rv -very odd. Bit of an odd couple and sometimes difficult, but can be pleasant. Its a nice park and Prescott was enjoyable, but I will not be back to this park though I may be back to Prescott or Prescott Valley. We camped at Pine Lawn Ranch (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Oak Knoll Campground, Pauma Valley, California

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed here for a couple months. The roads in the park are a bit narrow and rough for rv's to traverse. In spots they are nearly impassible and heavily rutted. Few spots are level. Mine was so unlevel I could not level my rig. The only internet available was theirs though they told me I would be able to get my own wired -sure, if you want to put up a 30 ft tower for satellite reception as I later found out! Their wifi is highly weak and unreliable and they'll charge you for that. Their laundryroom and single washer and 2 dryers were dirty. My clothes came out smelling worse than they went in. It's 15 mi through the beautiful mtns for shopping and descent food -Escondido. The worse part is they for some reason wanted to keep moving me to a different spot each month. That was maddening. The lease agmt they will want you to sign requires you to waive 1 or more rights. I will never be back and strongly recommend you NOT visit. It's a beautiful area, but I could not find a worthwhile park around for fair value. I would consider another region. Beautiful area, but lousy park. We camped at Oak Knoll Campground in a Motorhome.

Pima Swan RV Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed 2016 winter here. It's a fairly noisy park with nearby roads and dogs in and around park. One dog -pit bull, in park is kept inside a fence around a mobile and kept jumping the fence and attacking other dogs and campers. There is a surcharge for their elec so you pay more than the local rate -17.8c. Parking is insufficient -cars are parked in roadway making it hard to get in/out. I probably will not be back and caution others from. We camped at Pima Swan RV Park in a Motorhome.

It's a bit of a dicey area, but close to shopping and cafes. Tucson Tamale is great.

Rio Robles RV Park, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

Just had a very pleasant stay here. It's 1st rate clean, quiet and very well kept. There's ample shopping nearby and some good food to be found. There's even a public walking path in close proximity that runs about 3 mi along the river. I will readily be back and highly recommend. It's one of the best parks I've stayed at and an excellent rate of $285/mo plus elec which is low -no more than 12c/kwh. We camped at Rio Robles RV Park in a Motorhome.

Red Dot RV Park, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed 2 nts as a test to see if I cared to stay longer and while the park was in poor condition considered staying a full month only because it was quiet and close to where I wanted to be and had a reasonable rate with available wired internet, but the mgr flatly and without shame renegged on a verbal agmt to let me pay the difference to finish the month so I stayed 1 more nt and left the next morn. The mgr is dishonest (not entirely unusual for rv park managers), unhelpful, and extremely impolite. The building material of choice in this park is duct tape based on how many trailers in this park use it. The road is in poor shape as is the rest of the park. It is dingy and dirty. I will not be back EVER and highly recommend to avoid these crooks. They cannot be trusted and will swindle you if given the chance. We camped at Red Dot RV Park in a Motorhome.

Retro Rents, Terlingua, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed here for 1 mo this spring while hiking Big Bend. The owners were a delight to work with. Their wifi was strong and reliable. For $350/mo incl all utils and wifi, it was a good deal if not great. It was a hoot staying in the ghost town next to the graveyard. There was good food to be found nearby -Big Bend Resorts cafe, though limited. Adequate groceries were very far and sparse so stock up before you come. If ever in the region I will be back and highly recommend. Nice park and wonderful owners. We camped at Retro Rents in a Motorhome.
