Wallace Creek COE, Enid, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice and well kept park. Rangers drove through the park multiple times a day. Lake views at most sites. Some sites not completely level. All hookups worked great. The only issue is that the main bridge going to the Enid Lake area was closed. Had to take a detour, well marked, down a narrow road. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Mississippi River State Park, Marianna, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great little campground. Every site has water views. The park rangers checked on the campground at least twice a day. Great place to go fishing either from the bank or by boat. Very beautiful place to camp. Very peaceful. Not much to do in the area but a great place to relax and get away. We camped at Mississippi River State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pecan Park RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

Good park, easy to maneuver our trailer. It was very open with very few trees. Very nice office staff. Park was going through a little update but didn't have any issue with the work being done. Easy to get to off I-95. They pickup your garbage at your spot 3 days a week. We stayed five nights. The biggest issue we had was that there were a large number of long term/permanent campers. Some of the campers had brought in semi-permanent structures. Some sites had so much stuff around their site they almost could not get their car parked on the pad. Had some working on motorcycles and would rev the engines very loud during the day. The site next to ours the owner of the RV was working on his rear axle. Some sites had so much stuff that looked like it had been there for years. The Park states it is a resort. Why would it have so many permanent residents? Gave it a rating of 7 because of all the long term/permanent campers, otherwise I would have given a much higher rating. Also a little pricy, but this is the only one we could find on a short notice. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Up the Creek RV Camp, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

A wonderful campground. It was very quiet and peaceful. We had a site creek side and the running water could be heard from the camper. The camp staff was great and very helpful. The back section had a gravel road, but everyone pretty much drove slow to reduce the amount of dust. The campground was away from all the traffic and crowded areas of Pigeon Forge. The campground was only a few of miles from all the activities. We camped at Up the Creek RV Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in Pigeon Forge. Only a few miles from Gatlinburg with lots to do. You must drive through The Great Smokey Mountains Park, it was very beautiful and we saw black bear cubs and elk.

Lake Lowndes State Park, Columbus, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great state park. We had a spot right on Lake Lowndes. Great ranger that checked us in for the weekend. Very peaceful. A couple of problems; there were a lot of geese around the park and our spot had a lot of droppings to contend with, and there is a bad ant infestation. Had ants get in the RV during the first night and we spent the rest of the time fighting ants. The ants did not bite but caused a lot of stress. Appeared to be no problems on the other loop with the ant problem. We camped at Lake Lowndes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

JP Coleman State Park, Iuka, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great park. Very quiet and some sites have view of the water. The site we used had a steep grade next to it but had a wonderful view of the water through the woods. Had to walk down the steep grade to get to a level place and a picnic table and grill. There are sites right next the water that have plenty of level ground. The pad had a slight incline. We are planning another trip and will choose a site right next to the water. The campground is on Pickwick Lake. We camped at JP Coleman State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Tiak-O'Khata Resort, Louisville, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Ok RV Park. Location has a lake for swimming and water slides. Staff was very friendly. Has a restaurant on site that has good food. Too many long timers at the park using the best spots. Also you cannot reserve a RV spot, first come first serve. Lots to do at the location. We camped at Lake Tiak-O'Khata Resort in a Travel Trailer.
