We visited Lassen Volcanic National Park from here. People were very friendly. I did find the roads in the campground hard to distinguish but the sites were nice size. We camped at Living Springs RV and Lodging in a Fifth Wheel.

Elk Country RV Resort & Campground, Trinidad, California

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We loved staying there. There is elk poop everywhere that we raked away but that just tells you they come to visit so enjoy. One night we came home late and they were all around the cabin close to us. I missed them but my husband saw them. About 30 within 30 ft of us. The next day by the office there were 3 large bucks wandering thru the wooded part of the campground. I got great pictures. There is so much to do and the beach is close. We camped at Elk Country RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Enjoy the Palm Cafe in Orvek. It’s nothing to look at but food and prices are very good. We enjoyed the towns of Eurika and Fernwood. In Samoa go to the Cookhouse and enjoy your meal the way the lumberjacks used to. Served family style and fixed menu. There is also a small museum attached. Lots of fog but did enjoy walking on the beach.

Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park), Prospect, Oregon

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Nice large sites. The bathrooms are outdated but are being replaced and they are adding laundry facilities. It’s a nice location close to Crater Lake, many sites, hikes, waterfalls, lakes and more. The people who work there are very friendly and accommodating. There is a floating discount the longer you stay the less expensive. There are also more discounts. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Viento State Park, Hood River, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty campground but we backed right up to the train tracks. I'm sure we we as close as legally allowed! When the trains came by you knew it. We always knew when they were coming as they blew the whistle loud and long. If you were at the upper side you had the highway. It's close to lots of things to do including Mt.Hood and Mt. Adams. It's a very pretty area with hiking trails and the Columbia Gorge has lots to offer. Again visitors center a must to see all the wonderful places to visit. The only drawback is no dump station. You have to drive to the sewer plant for Hood River. It's easy in and out but up the road from the campground. We camped at Viento State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We had site 7 on the corner it overlooks the river and the interpretative center and being on the corner the lot is huge! I think it's the best site at the park. They have 2 dump stations and most people don't know about the one on the way to the interpretative center. We camped at Three Island Crossing State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

In Gooding there is a farm that makes wonderful cheese. Also If you take Rt 30 towards Hagerman you have Malad River Gorge, a couple of fish hatcheries, Niagra Springs, and a few other things. Take a trip up Rt. 75 to Stanley and stop at the historical markers or hike. Lots of things to see along that route.

Willow Bay Recreation Area, American Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was plenty long for our rig and our truck. We had lots of shade. The only sad thing was the hook ups had us pointing in the wrong direction to be able to view the lake. We just adjusted our "outside time" facing the lake. There are places where you can walk, but you have to be careful because there was a mama moose and two babies, so you wanted to make sure that you did not disturb them. My dog and I did not see them, sadly, but I guess for safety that might have been a good thing. You do hear the trains at night. They seem to follow us but we don't mind the trains. We met lots of wonderful people at the park, very friendly. The grass was kept cut and the garbage was picked up. We did enjoy staying there. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not miss the Museum of Clean in Pocatello. I know it sounds crazy but even my husband enjoyed it. It's kind of crazy to see the inventions that men seem to think up to help women clean in their high heels and their pearl necklaces. Some of the ideas are pretty quirky, but fun to see. You might also recognize some of the cleaning products from yesteryear. It's a fun way to spend a couple of hours and we would not have missed it. We also will return to Willow Bay if we are in the area. We had our truck serviced at Cole Chevrolet in Pocatello and those people were wonderful, we also recommend them. Fun place to eat was Abracadabra. The only problem with this restaurant is the portions are huge, but the service and the food is wonderful. If you have time I would also recommend City of Rocks. What a wonderful place. Hard to believe the pioneers pass through here.

Ute Bluff Lodge, South Fork, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This couple have owned this campground for 1 1/2 years. They are making improvements like planting trees and plants. There is a wonderful outdoor common area with a teepee and firepit a hot tub and a grill with a patio. The folks are very friendly and want to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Take a ride up the Silver Thread Scenic Byway. Though the sites are close together there is space between with a split rail fence in between. When the trees they planted it will be nice shade. We camped at Ute Bluff Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

Circle C RV Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The new owners are working hard to improve their site. The sites are nice size with newly planted trees, picnic tables, and fire pits on a cement block. Two bands practice there so you can listen. The owner took us to our site then made sure all was well. Later he came to introduce us to folks that wash and wax Rvs and trucks. The price was very fair so we had both done. You have a wonderful view of the mountains and close to Cortez which is a cute town. Sadly the Durango fire was burning up the forest so there was smoke in the valley. Lots of things to do in this area. We camped at Circle C RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Kaibab Paiute Band Tribal Campground, Kaibab, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful campground sitting up on a hill with a beautiful view of the plain all around you. It has recently been updated so the trees are not grown yet but they have fire pits and tables and if there's not one at your site you can request one. They have a huge covered pavilion where you can have family reunions if you so desire. It's a good location to so many things around you. We spent three weeks here and did most of the major things but a lot of things were left till next time. This part of the country is amazing. You can get to Zion, Bryce, North Rim, Lake Powell and so much more. We camped at Kaibab Paiute Band Tribal Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

El Morro RV Park and Cabins, Ramah, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We had a large pull thru but was a little confusing as to which were our hook ups as I think our site is some times used as 2 sites it's so big. There are some full timers and the Park is small but it's clean and it's at the base of a mt. Stars at night are amazing. There is a sculpture trail behind the campground that's nice. We hiked El Morro it's a challenge but doable and amazing views. We camped at El Morro RV Park and Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Clarkco State Park, Quitman, Mississippi

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

The road in is being repaired so you have to come in the back way. They tell you to call ahead because you have to go past the detour sign. This is very important till the main road is fixed. What they didn't tell us is that they want to have only one vehicle going in or out as the road is so narrow and passing is impossible in places. Backing up would also be very tough. You should call ahead any time going in or out so they can try and direct traffic even if going into town. To The only washing machine hardly spun and it has been 3 days trying to dry a sweatshirt. Other bath house had no machines. It's a pretty park but roads are very narrow and unless you are a VERY SKILLED there are drop offs and tight spots in many spots. We couldn't do the site assigned even though I told the man we were new at this and needed a fairly easy in and out. We called in and another staff member helped us find a site that worked. #9 with a 35' 5th wheel was too scary for me. We ended up in #43 and are very happy. Couldn't give a higher review because of the road conditions. We camped at Clarkco State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
