You are issued a cable box to use their cable system. Getting to the PX and Commissary takes some navigation after getting onto the airbase. Biloxi and the beaches are just a few miles away.

New Orleans West KOA, River Ridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Exceptionally personable staff working there, that help you get into your lot. Park was very clean. They have a shuttle bus that takes you to the French Quarter in the morning and picks you up in the evening. They have a dog park in the campground. The staff offers a lot of good information on the attractions and even sells tickets to some of the tours. I really enjoyed my stay there. We camped at New Orleans West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

You can buy a 24 hour street car ticket and ride the street cars as much as you want. A lot of beggars in the French Quarter area, best to just keep walking and ignore them. All meals in the French Quarter are expensive, so be prepared for that.

Kountry Air RV Park, Prattville, Alabama

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Having left a state park in Selma with disgust, they had a space for me with no reservations. The campground hosts were really great and friendly. They went out of their was to accommodate and make you content. The only issue I had with the park was that I could not get any TV stations besides PBS through my antenna. I wanted to visit Prattville and the hosts gave us maps, and suggestions and they were all great tips. Great place! We camped at Kountry Air RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

It is less than 15 miles from Prattville with a lot to see including museums and Artesian wells to drink from. Near the Interstate 65 intersection is plenty of shopping in chain stores.

Paul M. Grist State Park, Selma, Alabama

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

I was able to make reservations after repeated calls. This indicated to me that no one is there the majority of time. Despite leaving many messages I was never called back. I kept trying and finally got someone. The road to the park was very narrow. I did not see how any RV coming and going could pass on that particular road. That was quite a concern. Then I arrived at the office and no one was there. A note said just find a place and someone would be by to collect the money. I used the restroom at the office and they were very dirty and the toilet didn't flush. The lots seem very close with narrow distances between the lots. It had a beautiful lake nearby but with the entrance in and out being a safety concern, the condition of the office facilities and the lots not being what I found favorable, I turned around and left and found a private campground. I was very disappointed as I had read such favorable reviews. This campground is on my list of places not to return to. We camped at Paul M. Grist State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Suwannee River State Park, Live Oak, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park. Shaded lots with access to six walking trails that range from .25 miles to 12 miles. Very well marked paths, and very scenic. Park personnel were very courteous. The park was clean and had trash cans nearby. At my particular stay, gnats were horrendous. From mid-morning to evening, gnats were ever present. The city of Live Oak is about 16 miles away forgotten items. No local TV reception but the serenity of the wooded lots make you forget about your TV. You have easy access to the Suwanee River to take a walk along the river. The only reason I did not give this park a 10 was because of the gnats. We camped at Suwannee River State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground, Live Oak, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Our particular lot had litter scattered around. Cigarette butts and beer caps were very present. Had cable hook up but wasn't working. I stopped a staffer in a golf cart asking about the service. Assured me someone would check. Had to check at office myself. Flies were overwhelming. Lot was shady but difficult to find. For the money-back not worth the stay. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.
