Maple Grove Resort, Randle, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Very interesting and confusing Park. The services are a mishmash through the entire park, with 50 Amp service available in some (very sunny) areas, but not with sewer (except 4 spots), 30 Amp in most spots, water in all spots. Gravel roads in upper Park, but "The Woods" evidently floods each year, and looked very dusty with water, a few 30 Amp sites and no sewer. The person working at the desk on arrival was quite slow and not very helpful. Fortunately, we knew which site we wanted, as we'd been told by friends who were already there. WiFi is $1 per day per device and quality really isn't worth it. Structures are dated but adequate and clean. Landscaping is adequate, except for overhanging limbs in sites and over roads. We requested some branches be trimmed due to scraping on our 12 foot roof and awning, but they didn't get around to it. No AT&T service, but friends had T-Mobile with adequate service. We camped at Maple Grove Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails-Long Beach, Seaview, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived early evening on Friday, and single staff member was overwhelmed with check-ins, but got them all handled. Off to find a site, and most of the ones left would have required sewer and water to cross under the 5er. The one we found that worked was fun backing our 37 footer into. Had to park tow vehicle next to the 5er, taking up most of the site space. Very busy weekend, but moderately quiet during the quiet times. Fair AT&T cell service. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Ilwaco Saturday Market was fun, had lots of variety. For a tourist town, many of the eateries close up shop early on Friday night (before 8 pm.)

Neskowin Creek RV Resort, Neskowin, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our "Home" Parks through RPI. Located on the Coast near Pacific City, it is our favorite destination on the Oregon Coast. Reservations made as far in advance as possible are necessary. Expect to leave a message and have them call back, as they don't seem to have enough staff to man the phone. New covered outdoor area and recently renovated pool and sauna are very nice. Saturday breakfasts and multiple social events are available. We stayed on a very stormy coastal weekend, but the location of the park behind the hill protects it moderately well. Fair ATT cell service. Park's cable and WiFi (both cost) are adequate. Google Maps tried to get us to take a "shortcut" north from Hwy 18 at Otis. DON'T fall for it. We checked it out with the tow vehicle later and I wouldn't want to beat my 5er up like that! Bad, windy, bumpy road is actually further than proceeding to Hwy 101 and heading north. We camped at Neskowin Creek RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sandy Riverfront RV Resort, Troutdale, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a few days around our son's wedding just a block away. Very nice, well kept park with asphalt driveways and level concrete pads. Both WiFi and Cable worked well, and good ATT Cell service. Back "exit only" is used by most for in and out. Quite convenient to great little shopping area of Troutdale. Service was excellent. Busy Park even if "Off-Season". Campground is on the Sandy River, across the street from Glen Otto Park, and a block away from the touristy shopping and Restaurant lane in Troutdale. 4 blocks from the major Truck Stops prior to heading east into the Columbia Gorge. We camped at Sandy Riverfront RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Cascade Meadows RV Resort, La Pine, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We used our free "get acquainted" stay to check out this campground, and ended up joining as Members of RPI. Our stay was a little early in the year after a very snowy winter, so they were still getting set up for the camping year. Bathrooms, showers, laundry areas are clean and nice. All sites are pull-through. We were parked in the NE part of the park, which has some trees, but most of the campground is without trees. The view of Mt. Bachelor and the Three Sisters was great, and hwy 97 going by as close as it was did not cause any undue noise that we noted. The best part of this park is the people. Everyone was great at making sure our stay was pleasant and that we had all the information we needed. We chose this as our "Home" campground because of all the great things to do in the area. The owners of this park are new in the last year or two, and are in the middle of several upgrade projects that will continue to improve the usefulness and livability of Cascade Meadows. We camped at Cascade Meadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunriver, Bend, Sisters and Lapine are all great tourist areas. High Desert Museum, LavaLands, Newberry Crater National Monument, Mt. Bachelor, the Deschutes and Little Deschutes Rivers and numerous nearby high-mountain lakes for fishing.
