Knife Island Campground, Esko, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We read the reviews of this campground before booking and thought, it cannot be that bad, can it? Well I can tell you it was not awful, but other than their price of a bundle of wood, I struggle to find much else that was good about it. Our picnic table and fire pit have not had anyone weed whack them most of the summer. The grass was over taking both, making it impossible to use either. The grass in our site was not mowed either, so that was very disappointing. Our site, site 1, had garbage all over it. The place is run down, with nobody caring to take care of things. I would not stay here again. The dumpster and recycle bins were overflowing with garbage, so it stunk a bit. The road to drive in the campground is a dirt road with pot holes large enough to swallow a small camper. We did not have any trouble with low hanging branches as others have mentioned. Our friends that camped with us had to sign a waiver for their kids being there. They said most people do not bring their kids. It was in regards to the river mostly. If they maintained it, I do not think they would have to worry about it, but again, its so overgrown that it makes the boundaries tough to see. We camped at Knife Island Campground in a Motorhome.

St. Croix State Park, Hinckley, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We loved our stay here. The park is huge. Our site was just big enough for our MH, but had lots of trees and some shade. We felt pretty private and away from other campers. The staff are wonderful. Lots of walking paths. We will definitely be back, hopefully sooner that later. We camped at St. Croix State Park in a Motorhome.

Cokato Lake RV Resort, Cokato, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We booked at this resort in May for Labor Day weekend. Upon arriving they told us we were in a different site than we booked, ok fine we thought, as the gentleman brought us to our site (we would have never found it otherwise) the site was for a 25ft motorhome, we booked for a 40ft. We were not going to fit any way you looked at it. Tree branches are beyond in need of cutting back, roads are narrow and strange angles. They did not have any other sites available, so we were out of luck for a camping weekend. I felt the place was pretty run down. The pictures on the website are definitely not current. We will not go back to this campground. We camped at Cokato Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Top O' The Morn Resort & Campground, Iron River, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I cannot say enough great about this campground. The owners are fantastic. There are a lot of seasonal units with several for the weekender. We started out in site 27, which was a very tight fit, but once situated, we were just fine. Gravel sites and pretty level. The owner asked us if we wanted to move to a different site for a few days, which was down on the lake. We did and it was incredible. Another very level site. Wifi is spotty at best. The have a nice swimming area, boat rentals and a small bar. There is a nice field for volleyball or kickball along with a small playground for younger kids. We will for sure be back!! We camped at Top O' The Morn Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

A-J Acres Campground, Clearwater, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here a few weeks ago. It started off with an awful smell in the office upon checking in. Things did not get much better. The place is very run down. It is overloaded with seasonals that are run down, and there is junk everywhere. They need to cut back the branches of most trees to prevent trees scratching your camper. Site was level. People party all night here. We will not be back. We camped at A-J Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Indian Point Campground, Duluth, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was lovely!!!! Sites are pretty close together and sporadically placed. Site was pretty level. Had great cell phone reception (Verizon). Very nice and quiet campground. The bathrooms and showers needed some work. They have a nice walking trail that leads to a dock, however, the dock was broken. Staff were all very friendly. I would stay here again, but will look for something different first. We camped at Indian Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Grand Marais RV Park & Campground, Grand Marais, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 4 days and loved it. Sites are tight and very close together. The cobblestone beach was beautiful. We have Verizon and the service was great. All the staff were very friendly. We had FHU. The walk into town is about 2 blocks. Lots of shops and restaurants in town. We will be back next year, hopefully for much longer this time. We camped at Grand Marais RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Lac qui Parle State Park, Watson, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here over Memorial Weekend. It is a very wide open campground with very few trees. The views are very pretty of Lac Qi Parle. We stayed in the upper part of the campground. It was too windy to use our awning. We loved our site, but when we walked around found a few that we liked better. Very quiet and peaceful park. Staff was great. No shade. We will be staying here again for sure. They have about 7 sites that have electric/water and sewer. Very clean park. We camped at Lac qui Parle State Park in a Motorhome.

Sibley State Park, New London, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for the weekend. We liked the campground. Very quiet. Not very private, but that is with most State Parks in Minnesota. Lots of walking paths, near Lake Andrew. It was tough maneuvering with a motorhome. We will be back for sure. We camped at Sibley State Park in a Motorhome.
