This is a combination Motel and RV park. There are 13 RV sites all with full hookups. They cater to the hunter and fisherman, which is all there is to do in this area. They even have kennels to keep your hunting dog in. If you are looking for more than that you should probably go somewhere else. The sites are paved and level. Everything is very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. My daughters enjoyed the swimming pool. They serve a continental breakfast each morning starting at 6 a.m.. If you like to start fishing earlier than that (like me!) they leave a side door open so you can get your coffee and bagel before 6 a.m.. We will be coming back here on a yearly basis.

My family and I stayed here for one week in June. This is supposed to be a family friendly campground where Yogi Bear meets and greets the kids and overall this was the case. However, we did have some problems... We made reservations a month in advance and arrived on a Saturday afternoon. They gave us a spot in Area D where the sites are way too close together. That night our neighbors two trailers down decided to have a big party. They were drinking, yelling, swearing and blaring the car radios until 3:00 in the morning! (not very kid friendly!). This camp is supposed to have a quiet time from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.. We tried calling the number on the brochure they gave us and only got a recording. I got in my car to look for the security guard that was supposed to be on duty and didn't find anybody. The next morning we brought this to the attention of the lady at the office and she seemed very uninterested. Her only response was that she must have slept through the calls we made and that we should have contacted the security guard. Which we tried to and couldn't find! There are many other RV parks in this area, some right on the Guadalupe River, so we won't be going back to this one.

This is a great park to observe all types of wildlife. The main attraction is the Alligators that come out of the water to sun on the banks right beside the hiking trails! There are no fences here to keep you and the alligators separate! There are also many different types of birds in this park along with white-tailed deer and feral hogs. The RV sites are all paved, level, and have more than enough space between them. They also have the George Observatory on site. You can buy tickets and look through the big telescope at constellations and planets. We were able to see Saturn when we went. We will definitely be back to this park!

We enjoyed this park. Most of the sites are tree covered and are not too close together. Quite a few sites are gravel and are very uneven. Bring lots of lumber to level out your rig if you get one of these. There are some paved sites if you are lucky enough to get one. Lake Raven is a nice size lake. They rent canoes and fishing equipment if you need it. My daughters had a great time here.
