Ebenezer Park, Rock Hill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice campground. We camped over a warm, fall weekend and the campground was full. Our initial site was 21, which is near the lake. It was a big, flat pull-through with a picnic table and fire ring. It was quite close to the neighbors on one side. It would've been great for a motor home because the lake is in front of the lot. Because we wanted to stay another night, and booked it late, we had to move to site 36 on Saturday. That site was also big and flat, and even though it was in the woods there was plenty of sunny space. The camp host was great about letting us know when we could get into our next site. There were lots of families here on the weekend, and it seemed like most of them come here often. The lake was just beautiful. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Ebenezer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rutledge Lake RV Park, Fletcher, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

First of all, if you go to this park, use 125 Jillian Trail for the address instead of 170 Rutledge Rd. After getting the confirmation email with the Jillian Trail address on it, I called the office to double check on the GPS address to use. The gal said to try the Rutledge Road address. Don't do it. That is a dead end street on the other side of the campground. Also, if you get site 11, you should park as close to the cement patio as you can or your tires will be off the ground on one side after you get leveled. The gentleman who parked us failed to make the recommendation. The name of the park would lead you to believe you are on Rutledge Lake, if there is such a lake. However, the lakefront sites you pay extra for are actually on a little retention pond. The laundry room was nice, with several washers and dryers that worked well. The store is well stocked. We were close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and less than 30 minutes from Asheville. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ocean Waves Campground, Waves, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

We had 3 rigs traveling together, and were glad we actually got sites together. The park is much smaller than the two down the road, but we were glad for the shelter of the trees that lined the park when the winds were blowing at 40 MPH one night. Bathrooms were bare bones with no outlets, towels, or hand soap. Sites were nicely spaced, with concrete pads. Other local area campers were very friendly. Lots of fishermen staying here. We would recommend this park. We camped at Ocean Waves Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sandy Pond Campground, Plymouth, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We really liked this park. Since we went late in the season, it was not crowded or noisy. It was great having the local General Store right at the entrance of the park. The laundry room is tiny, with only a couple of machines and no air conditioning. The pull-through sites were level and well spaced. There was a nice playground for kids. The roads to get to the park are very winding, but manageable for big rigs. We would stay here again. We camped at Sandy Pond Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stadig Campground, Wells, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Well, I don't usually choose parks with reviews over a year old, but thought we'd try this one as we planned on being out sightseeing most of our 3 days in the area. I will say that my first impressions were that I had made a mistake (old and musty office with lots of stuff in it). However, once we got settled in our pull-through site, we really liked the park. There are lots of seasonal trailers, and several could use a major power washing, but the sites were neat. The owner was friendly. He runs a tight ship and keeps a good eye on things. There are all sorts of quirky carvings and lots of pots of flowers scattered around the campground that add charm. The sites in the back are very private. As the owner led us around the park and back to our pull-through site, I was not sure how we ever made it between some of the trees lining the road and over the raised tree roots. We have a 42' fifth wheel and a dually truck. Our friends with a motor home didn't have any problems. Lots of pine trees, so some pitch dripped on the truck and trailer. We camped at Stadig Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Newfound RV Park, Bristol, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed a week at this park in a pull-through site and loved it. The sites are level, and utilities are good. We didn't get any T-Mobile signal, but didn't really expect any in this area. The TV box they give you brought in plenty of channels. They have a great rec room. Just 2 washers and 2 dryers, but they worked well. The owner was great and he stopped by several times to visit. We would definitely recommend this park. The area around the park is just beautiful. We camped at Newfound RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

King Neptune Campground, Indian Harbour, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We started our fall trip on August 2nd, and have stayed in 11 parks since then. This was our favorite one. First of all, the drive along the coast to get there was so picturesque! Then, the owners are so friendly and helpful. We have a big rig, so there were only a few spots where we could fit, but the owner helped us pick out an awesome spot where we could back up to the bay. These upper sites didn't have sewer, and we didn't try to maneuver to the dump site before we left, but we didn't mind at all for the view we had. The owners were out working in the park all day every day. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area. We camped at King Neptune Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Peggy's Cove is very close, and is just beautiful. It was a long, but scenic drive to Halifax. We really enjoyed the Immigration Museum at Pier 21. We also took a drive to Lunenberg and went to the museum there. It was fun talking to the fishermen who were on the two boats that were part of the museum to hear about life as a Nova Scotia fisherman.

Scotia Pines Campground, Brookfield, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The pull through sites were big, and utilities were good. Antenna reception was pretty good. Nice big pine trees for shade. The staff were great. I did do laundry, but the washers were old and didn't spin the clothes very well. The staff reimbursed me so I could use a different washer to redo the load. One washer said cold water only, but if you don't put the lid down until you are ready to start the load, you don't see it. Dryers worked well. We camped at Scotia Pines Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We travel with another couple who has a motor home. They were able to put us next to each other in large pull through sites. Utilities were good and antenna TV reception was good. The laundry was nice and reasonable. They even had a clothesline. There was a little traffic noise from the highway, but not bad. The management takes you to your site, and they were very helpful with directions and suggestions. It's just a short drive to Levis to catch the ferry to Quebec. We camped at Camping Transit in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We took a nice drive to Montmorency Falls and Isle d'Orleans the afternoon we arrived. The next two days we drove to Levis and took the ferry to Quebec. What beautiful views of Chateau Frontenac and the city from the ferry. The walking food tour was excellent. It was about 3 hours of history and food on a pretty easy walk, and the guide, Samuel, was great. The hop on hop off bus was also a great way to get a feel for a larger part of the city.

We had an easy drive into and out of the city on both weekend days. The Grayline hop on hop off tour was great. The ticket is for two days. There was plenty of reasonably priced parking near the information center where we bought the tickets. The Point-a-Calliere museum was awesome, and our lunch at the restaurant there was delicious and reasonably priced.

Haas Lake Park RV Campground, New Hudson, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This was really a nice park. Even though it is located in an urban area, you feel like you are out in the country. We were in sites 46 and 47 on Lake 4, Section Z. I requested a lakeside lot when I made the reservation and that's what we got. Sunsets were beautiful over the lake. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We waited until after 9:30 to leave the park for the Ford Museum, Greenfield Village and the Rouge Factory Tour. We were able to avoid most of the morning traffic. It took us 6 hours to see Greenfield Village, which got us stuck in afternoon traffic. The next day we started out with the factory tour and then the museum so we could get on the road back to the park by 3:00. Don't miss the factory tour where they make the F150's. That was a great surprise.

River Ridge Resort, Stanwood, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful resort! The grounds are gorgeous, the sites are wide, and amenities are great. We had a delicious pizza at the General Store on the river. The prices for snack bar food there were very reasonable, and the food was good. The pool area is beautiful. We were on a grass site right next to 8 Mile Road, and it was loud. I would choose a concrete site or a a grass site further from the highway. We camped at River Ridge Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
