Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park, Belleville, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great Fairgounds Camp. You are close together here but the sites are quite long and easily accommodate any rig and tow vehicle. Power was good 114V to 120V, water pressure was fine at about 50lb, sewer was at each site. Other campers are friendly. No full timers, but some staying weeks at a time. Good place to stay to see surrounding areas including Detroit, and Ann Arbor. Lots of museums, parks, and other activities close by. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Timberline Campground, Benzonia, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great Facility, destination park or overnight. Fantastic management. Clean, good power, water sewer. This park is pretty big with sections added on over the years. Older section has lots of trees and mostly seasonal RVs. One newer section that we stayed in has easy pull thru and back in sites. Newer trees, grass and patio. No problem with satellite reception or Verizon cell phone. Several playgrounds for kids, also close to many regional activities. Would stay here again in a heart beat. We camped at Timberline Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nothing special, but good price and easy place to stay. Close to other spots but not too close. Good for over night or a couple of days. If staying longer stay at the Tribes campground on the lake about 2 miles away. Same pricing but also found it muddy after recent rains. We camped at Ojibwa Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ho-Chunk Casino Campground, Baraboo, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

If your visiting Wisconsin Dells area this is a great place to stay, just a couple miles off the strip, very quiet. If you like to gamble then being here is also a bonus. Campground is at the back of the hotel and looks flat but some sites may require a board or two to make your rig totally level. Electric, water, sewer all good and easy satellite reception. Another bonus is the casino has a gas station with discounted prices. When I visited they were .15 cents below the market price. You do have to check in at the hotel and then go to the RV park to set up which is a little hassle but not the end of the world and they have a massive parking lot so find a place to park while checking in is not a problem even if you are towing. RV park users are able to use the hotel pool, spa, and work out room also. We camped at Ho-Chunk Casino Campground in a Motorhome.

River Place Campground & Dockage, Duluth, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice older facility run by the owner (?). If you can get in it is a great quiet place to stay with friendly full timers and maybe a dozen travelers such as myself. Some trees but I was able to get the satellite to work. Verizon worked well enough to use as a hot spot. Power was strong, Water was good, Sewer was fine. On the south edge of Duluth so you are about 15 min to downtown. Also close to Superior WI. Very good value, at $40 it would still be a good value. Note Cash only, or check no credit cards accepted. We camped at River Place Campground & Dockage in a Motorhome.

Nashwauk Campground, Nashwauk, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice City Park with lots of grass, trees, and quiet. About half of the spaces have 50 amp service the others have 30 amp. Power was strong at 118v to 124v, water though was low pressure and you might want to fill your tank and use your pump while visiting here. On the East side of town off a quiet road. We camped at Nashwauk Campground in a Motorhome.

Benton Beach Campgrounds, Rice, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

No reservations - First Come First Serve only. Very nice county park with dirt roads. Sites are basically park on the grass. There are 3 sites with 50 amp service, about 15 with 30 amp service, and more with just 20 amp mostly for tent camping. It was very quiet here, not much going on during the week. Weekends may be different!!!!! Lots of trees but a few spots where satellite will work and I found one with 30 amp service - power and water only and dump station when you leave. Good place to stay when exploring the area and St Cloud. We camped at Benton Beach Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Very friendly campground owners/ hosts. Nice older campground with tight spaces and lots of trees. Tough to get satellite to work but I did find a spot to make it happen. Sites are mainly parking on the grass but easy to navigate and utilities are placed right. Has playground for the kids. They do many park activities like Bingo etc. Small store and friendly people. Would stay again if in the area. We camped at Pla-Mor Campground in a Motorhome.

Faribault County Fairgrounds, Blue Earth, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a hidden Gem that apparently quite a few people know about. Not well publicized but worth finding if you are in the area. We got there about 4 pm and 3/4 of the dozen sites were taken. By nightfall all sites were filled but one. Small, just dirt pads, not completely level at the back of the fair grounds but very quiet, reasonably priced, close to the everything, good for a night or two for sure. Self service with a pay booth. We camped at Faribault County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.
