Benton Beach Campgrounds, Rice, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

No reservations - First Come First Serve only. Very nice county park with dirt roads. Sites are basically park on the grass. There are 3 sites with 50 amp service, about 15 with 30 amp service, and more with just 20 amp mostly for tent camping. It was very quiet here, not much going on during the week. Weekends may be different!!!!! Lots of trees but a few spots where satellite will work and I found one with 30 amp service - power and water only and dump station when you leave. Good place to stay when exploring the area and St Cloud. We camped at Benton Beach Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Really nice park very close to sights and the city. Well maintained, great level sights, good ultilites, lots of trees but most sites can still get satellite reception. Mowed lawns, lake, paved roads and small store. We camped at Lebanon Hills Regional Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Pla-Mor Campground & Marina, Winona, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly campground owners/ hosts. Nice older campground with tight spaces and lots of trees. Tough to get satellite to work but I did find a spot to make it happen. Sites are mainly parking on the grass but easy to navigate and utilities are placed right. Has playground for the kids. They do many park activities like Bingo etc. Small store and friendly people. Would stay again if in the area. We camped at Pla-Mor Campground & Marina in a Motorhome.

Faribault County Fairgrounds, Blue Earth, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a hidden Gem that apparently quite a few people know about. Not well publicized but worth finding if you are in the area. We got there about 4 pm and 3/4 of the dozen sites were taken. By nightfall all sites were filled but one. Small, just dirt pads, not completely level at the back of the fair grounds but very quiet, reasonably priced, close to the everything, good for a night or two for sure. Self service with a pay booth. We camped at Faribault County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Great people at the front desk. If you are visiting SD to establish residency these guys know how to handle it and do a good job. Sites were nice, a lot of trees so if you want satellite be sure to let them know early as not that many good spots for reception. We camped at Tower Campground in a Motorhome.

Pine Grove RV Park and Campground, Greenwood, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This park is not near anything but the Strategic Air Command Museum and the freeway. However it is not that noisy and it is not too far from Lincoln or Omaha. Staff was very friendly and helpful but they have way too many speed bumps. I asked for and received a spot where my satellite dish would work. That will not be true for all sites as they have a lot of trees. Plenty to do here at the campground and I found the laundry clean and reasonably priced. I would stay here again if I was in the area. We camped at Pine Grove RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Curtis Creek COE, Junction City, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

This appears to be a great destination park, but I was there for a visit in the area and did not get out on the lake which was very popular with everyone else staying there. I would say you need a reservation most of the time during the summer as the place was full. The positive is that the sites are large and have trees etc in most cases. The negative is most sites have trees and it it tough to get a satellite signal but it can be done. Also none of the sites are "LEVEL" but are close enough that with a few boards you can get level , but most likely your automatic levelers won’t do it on their own. We camped at Curtis Creek COE in a Motorhome.

The Campus RV Park, Independence, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Very Basic Park but Clean and reasonably priced. Some others have mentioned the train tracks not too far away. The trains are far and few and are really not that bad but ,,,,, if you are a princess and the pea type, don’t stay here. You will here a train once in awhile. Flat concrete pads, Plenty of room to park Electric strong at 124V Water pressure steady at 65Lb Sewer, Water and Electric all well located with short runs Afternoon shade but not so much that it interfered with the Satellite Verizon LTE at 5 bars, was able to use as hot spot just fine Dish worked just fine Fairly tight quarters with a little grass between each spot. Large play fields on the property. I would stay here again in a heart beat. We camped at The Campus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Air Capital RV Park, Wichita, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a week in May. This park is fairly new and all facilities / Utilities are in good shape. Concrete Driveways and pads. Nothing Fancy and you are pretty tight with your neighbors. This is a place to stay, not a destination park. Laundry room was clean and machines worked well, reasonably priced. Electricity was variable from 111V to 122V It was hot while I was there and I am sure there was a lot of demand on the electric circuits Water was steady at 60 Lbs pressure Had Cable that I did not use My Dish network worked fine Verizon was a pretty weak signal but usable for phone and hot spot Close to Freeway but no noise Easy access and movement in the park We camped at Air Capital RV Park in a Motorhome.

Gunsmoke RV Park, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean park with friendly helpful owners/ operators located on the edge of town, quiet with an occasional train passing by which did not bother me or wake me up at night (not located next to the tracks but within hearing distance). Has some shade, but not so many trees that your satellite will not work, or at least mine worked fine. Electric strong at 120 V, water steady at 45 pounds, Verizon strong at 5 bars. Spacious spots with picnic tables. They have a variety of space types from small camping to very long pull thru RV spots. Has a small store and gift shop, pool, restrooms, showers, etc which I did not use. Also gate is locked at 8:30 at night, but they give you a pass code so you can get back in if you are out later than that. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seward County Fairground, Liberal, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

If your looking for a place to park and have full hookups with 50 amp or 30 amp service for cheap this is it. Just a gravel parking lot at the fair grounds, but hey if you're visiting Liberal what more do you need. Very quiet and in town. Walmart food store across the street with gas. Power steady at 122 Volts, Water pressure steady at 45 pounds. Full hookups for $15 per night. Great Satellite reception, Verizon 5 bar service. Flat as a pancake, any size RV. No reservations needed, about 15 spots, just slip a check in the payment box and you are good to go. Only one other motorhome here while I visited. 5 to 10 minutes to any attraction in town. No picnic tables, campfires, or other amenities, but clean and quiet. We camped at Seward County Fairground in a Motorhome.

Lewis & Clark Golf & RV Park, Astoria, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Off the beaten path with no real views, BUT if you are visiting to go fishing, or just a longer stay in the area this is a great place and very nice other RVers. Managers were hot and cold but basically good people who like all of us had their good and bad days. The "elite" spots are great and look out on the golf course. The basic spots were a little close, but we had no problems and stayed in one over a month and had many nice neighbors. All electric, water, sewer etc were newer and worked great. Used Satellite and had no problems. Used Verizon hot spot off my phone with no problem. Not close or far from anything (10 min drive). Costco, Walmart, Home Depot, etc all in the area. Some on site parking for boats and boat trailers. Best bet is to get morrage at the marina if you can as they sell out fast. Lots of guides available if you don't have your own boat (some stay at this park). Beaches about 15 min away, Lots of great shopping in Downtown Astoria about 15 min away also. Will definately stay here again. We camped at Lewis & Clark Golf & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oceanside RV Park, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Its not fancy, but a great place to stay. Stayed here in a Class A Motor home the last week of May 2017. This park is located right on the ocean with river / bay on one other side, and airport behind you. Stayed there for 4 nights and only saw a couple of planes land and they were all small so no noise problem. Spaces were level with Sand, Gravel, and Grass. Had Water and 30 amp power. Voltage was good at 120V steady. Water pressure was also good. Dump station was clean, worked well and had water for flushing. Did not use bath rooms but I saw them being cleaned every day and manager was very fussy about how the place looked so I am sure they were in good condition. Friendly, helpful people. Reasonable rates. Spaces were mostly right next to each other and fairly tight, however if you reserve early or come at the right time some spaces were vary spacious and had bushes and trees between spaces. My Dish worked just fine here. I would stay here again anytime. :) We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Driftwood RV Park, Brookings, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

There are several places to stay in Brookings, and several at the harbor or on the water. The state park is a little cheaper, but limited facilities, The Port's Beach front property sounds good, but you are on a public area with no privacy and any joe blow coming thru the campground all day and night (high probability of theft or damage to your stuff) also very tight spaces. Driftwood RV Park has some tight spaces and some roomy ones. The owner's/ Managers have developed a really nice place here. Little wood deck to socialize on. Gas Fireplaces on them to keep warm. Clean restrooms, Nice Laundry room with reasonable prices, A little cabin/ room for socializing when it is cool out. Great Cable, (my Satellite did not work here but yours might.). Verizon phone service was about 3 bars for me. Also pretty good WIFI, actually better than most. This place is close to everything in the harbor, and Easy to get to shopping, gas, etc. Just have to say again that the ladies that run this place and their staff were just great , Exceeded our expectations 110%. Would stay here again any day. We camped at Driftwood RV Park in a Motorhome.
