Moose River Campground, St Johnsbury, Vermont

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Great small campsite on the Moose River. The owners were exceptional. The only time I did not see them at-work around the campground was when it rained (likely they were inside working then). They keep the campground exceptional and the environment friendly and social. We were set back my missing one of the rules and getting corrected. But as the week rolled out, we came to appreciate the order at the campground and why they do what they do. It works out best for all in the end. Come during a weekend social event. They go out of there way to make it fun and the seasonal campers are great at mixing in with all the other campers. Very friendly. We wished we could have stayed longer. Dogs are welcomed and loved. And nearby Dog Mountain makes this campground a must for dog owners! Great internet connection! Clean campsites. Rivers sites are wonderful. Groceries nearby. And you must do their 'Belly-ache Tour' (or at least parts of it). We camped with a 31' Travel Trailer with slides on both side. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pine Hollow Campground, Pownal, Vermont

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Small park in a quiet location. We enjoyed making day-trips to small towns in the southern Vermont area. The owners were friendly. We came in on a rainy day so we had to work a bit to get the trailer level, but it worked out in the end. The only problem we had at the site was that it was covered with bees, nested in the ground. They left us alone and we did the same. The internet connection was troublesome; connected okay but the bandwidth out was very very slow. 1-bar on Verizon as well. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Otter Lake Camp Resort, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this campground! The facilities offer many options with lots to do. Everything is very well maintained and serviced. The sites are very wooded with LOTS of room. We stayed a week at Otter Lake with still wanting more. If you want shady, wooded sites, this is the place. The layout of the campground is excellent. There are many many trees, but the sites are easy to navigate. We enjoyed walking our dog along the lake. On the downside, the Internet was spotty. There are lots of access points, but the service is very, very slow, which causes many drops. We ended up using our Verizon connection. There are no stores in the area, so arrive well-stocked. We wanted rustic and secluded, so this was the place. We would come back again and again. Our 31 ft RV has slides on both sides. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Little River Campground, Townsend, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two-nights at Little River Campground. The location on the river was beautiful. They offer tubing on the river if you ask. The owners were friendly and helpful. It appeared that they are working hard to upgrade the campground. Our site was on the river. There is a large bank between the campground and river, but still accessible. We stayed during the week and very few others were there. It would feel a bit crowded if all the sites were occupied. The sites were gravel and dirt. Unfortunately we had lots of rain so this made a messy site. On a clear sunny day, this would have worked okay. The location in Townsend is quiet with the convenience of a few restaurants and grocery store. Good access to the National Park and Little Pigeon River. The downside is that it seemed too pricey for what we got, but this rate is equal to others in the area. We camped at Little River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Hungry Mother State Park, Marion, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed this campground. Ample room in the pull-through site and not too close to our neighbor. All the hook-ups were convenient. The state park is very nice. We ended up with lots of rain during our stay so could not enjoy everything as we had hoped. We only stayed 2 nights. There were limited trees on our site, but lots in the park. The campground is near a creek and that made for fun. This was a quiet area and well maintained. The lantern hooks at the sites is a nice touch. Our 31 ft RV has slides on both sides. We camped at Hungry Mother State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Creekside RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great location near attractions in Pigeon Forge. Shady site. The pool was clean and well kept. The creekside was nice. The site was on the smaller side and close to others, but adequate for the price. We camped at Creekside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Big Meadow Family Campground, Townsend, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Great facility and service! The access to the river was ideal. The playground and splash area worked great for my grandkids. We enjoyed the nightly campfire for the guests. The convenience of the dog park was nice. The downside was tight sites and the lack of trees. The scenery around us was gorgeous, which helped some. We camped with a 31' travel trailer with slides on both sides. We camped at Big Meadow Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Skyline Ranch Resort, Front Royal, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

This was a last minute reservation over Memorial Day. We paid an extra $20 per night for the holiday. The Wi-Fi was additional. The campground staff were friendly. Unfortunately our campsite was not very good (site#56). This site was tightly packed to those next to it, like a parking lot. The sewer connection had to be downhill so it was on the wrong side of the camper and required an extension (20' total needed). Also indicating that the site needed leveling (added 5" levelers). When we talked to the staff they offered to change sites, but we had set up already so stayed there. We asked providing us Internet for the weekend in return, which they willingly did. Unfortunately the Internet was BAD, very very slow, and disconnected frequently. I was very glad that we did not pay for the Internet. Also the location is sparsely serviced by Verizon. The other camp facilities were satisfactory and the campers around us were friendly. If we had not paid so much, likely we would have not been so disappointed. Overall, okay, but not likely to return. We camped at Skyline Ranch Resort in a Travel Trailer.
