Cajun Country Campground, Port Allen, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Office is only open from Noon-6pm. Grounds were kept, but not "cared for." When we arrived, there was a garbage bag that had been obviously dragged and disbursed by an animal, the trash was scattered over a grassy area. OK, these things happen: but the trash was still here 2 days later. It felt cramped and crowded at the park. The bathrooms were dark and dingy, buggy and only 1 of the 3 showers in the ladies bath had an adequate shower. The others had no water flow or all the water came out of the wall and not the shower head. I did not utilize the women's toilet. The store/office was staffed by an hourly worker, not by someone invested in the campground. That space also seemed dingy. Don't think we'll go back. We camped at Cajun Country Campground in a Motorhome.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient to French Quarter, they even offered us a golf cart ride to within 3 blocks of the FQ, AND picked us up at the end of the evening. The grounds felt very secure, very well monitored and maintained. The 4 bathrooms are "suites" private sink/toilet/shower, that are clean and pleasant to use. The "workout" room looked very nice, but we did not use it. The pool and hot tub area was great. The laundry room was clean and always accessible. We would definitely stay there again. Yes, it is on the edge of a not so great neighborhood, but New Orleans is a large metropolitan area so areas like that are expected. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Abbeville RV Park, Abbeville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful tree shaded RV park. Quiet (except the very loud cicadas),clean, fairly level gravel lots. WiFi is spotty, and signal is not very strong--at least not from site #19. No bath house/restrooms or store/office, but there is a small "clubhouse" cabin. Park is off the main road, so no traffic. Picnic tables provided for sites are hit or miss. Very nice restaurants close by. We camped at Abbeville RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park), Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We are new to RV'ing, and weren't sure what to expect. This is a great campsite and RV park. The grounds are well kept. The owners are organized, and very friendly and helpful. Level lots with paved patios and nice patio furniture. The bathrooms are immaculate! The pool area is kept well. There are some confusing signs; 2 different pool signs gave 2 different open hours, "no wet clothes in bathroom", but you must shower before entering pool. Nice play area for kids. Nice dog walk area. Quiet residents. The park is easy access to highway, but you don't get highway noise. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park) in a Motorhome.

State Forest State Park - Ranger Lakes Campground, Walden, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Shaded spots, some were drifted with snow still. Not perfectly level, but what is one to expect in a state park? You're camping after all. Walking trail to fishing lakes. Picnic table and fire ring in each spot. Electric at most spots. Nice place to stay. Our space was reserved, but the marker was under another marker, a bit confusing. Friendly rangers. We camped at State Forest State Park - Ranger Lakes Campground in a Motorhome.

State Forest State Park, Bockman Campground, Walden, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $14.00

Awesome views from our outer site. Horse corral available. Close to fishing lakes. Lots of people bring ATVs here, so that can get noisy. Vault toilets--you know what that means. Great recreation area. We camped at State Forest State Park, Bockman Campground in a Motorhome.
