Destin West RV Resort, Fort Walton Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 5 nights in our 5th. Site was adjacent to the pool. Clean, quite (school in session). Everyone was very friendly and polite. Facility was well maintained. Shrubbery around the site was a little tight, brought this up with the management and they were looking at trimming it back. Cable TV quality was poor. Poolside bathroom could use some brighter lights in the shower area. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are military or government on orders, with ID, they will accept Tax Exempt forms. GPS directions may tell you there is a U-turn involved on Highlight 98, there is not, it is a direct turn in . Use caution as Highway 98 is a " racetrack."

Redstone Arsenal Campground (Military FamCamp), Redstone Arsenal Army Post, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Look liked the campground has just undergone a renovation, ultra wide concrete pads. Good water pressure, Cable TV hook up was available (no short term access you need a cable box), plenty of over-the-air channels available. Phone service was strong, plenty of bandwidth if you are using this for your personal hotspot. Have to agree with some of the other reviews that the grass was high, voice this to the MWR reps who informed me the contract for maintenance was every three weeks and did offer me the use of a mower.... Knowing how MWR is structured and what they have to work with , all-in-all this is a pretty good set up. We camped at Redstone Arsenal Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This facility is located in what I thing was a old family housing area. Lots of paved roads, trees and open fields available without ever seeing any main post traffic. 5 Minute walk from the Commissary/BX/Class 6/ Gas pumps. No Diesel on base 15 Minutes from the Botanical Gardens and about 20 Minutes from the Space and Rocket Center. Gate 9 (24 hour access) area is under construction - be prepared. Other gates close around 9pm.

Creekside RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Spent July 5 - 10 her while visiting the surrounding area. Creekside was very close to where we needed to go and very convenient discounting the hideous traffic of Pigeon Forge. Our campsite was number 27 which was creek side, while there were no trees on the lot it was partially shaded from surrounding tees on the other lot. Site (27) was a little narrow and just long enough for our 5th (42ft). We were backed in far enough we did not have to disconnect but we did. Electrical Cable, and water hook-ups are at the front of the lot with sewer being toward the back. Had just enough electrical cable to connect without issues. We did have to supply our own barrel connector for the Cable TV. Daily duck parade 4 times a day. Site was just across from the trolley stop. Site has a slight slope front to back. We camped at Creekside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pine Mountain RV Resort, Pine Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 21 - 24 June 2018, our 2nd stay. Lot 147 was in the " newer" section of the park but we had a very large shade tree. This was a pull thru end lot and very spacious. Little tight on the turn out when leaving due to a tree directly across the road. Resort at about 45% or so but very quiet. Lots of people at the pool (salt water) very well managed and maintained. Jacuzzi heater was inoperative. We will be staying here again. Did notice that the sewer connections at many lots were broken (including ours) and in need of repair. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Emerald Beach RV Park, Navarre, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here from 20 to 24 May left prior to Tropical Storm Alberto blowing through. Very Clean and well kept, quite even though there were a lot of children and pets there. Staff very friendly and informative. Pool and facilities in very good shape and well maintained. Parking was tight and spaces a little close together but not an issue. Our sight was a pull through with just enough room for the trailer. Two palm trees provided shade but were just close enough we could not extend our awnings all the way. We will stay here on our next trip down. Th only negative is that highway 98 has turned into the Navarre raceway. Use extreme caution trying to get out. We camped at Emerald Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Atlanta Marietta Campground, Marietta, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Parked our 5th here for overflow family visiting from out of town. According to them everything was fine and they had no issues of any kind. Was assigned Site 11 ( back in) which was mostly level. No issues with any hook ups. Couple of RV parked in there that looked abandon, at a minimum they need to be washed once a year. Overall appearance was O.K. but I think with some minor refurbish this would be an excellent place. Staff was very friendly. We camped at Atlanta Marietta Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA), Ringgold, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Was originally scheduled to stay from 6 to 8 July but was delayed a day. Informed the management and when I checked in they gladly provided a refund for that day. While most campers complain about not enough trees I think they need to trim a few back that are just in the way. If the site in front of us had not been vacated we would have never been able to make the turn to exit the facility. Campground was clean and quiet but they do need to address drainage from the rain runoff.

Site 121 was unsuitable for our 37 ft 5th wheel. While it was easy enough to get into there was no way to exit unless the sites in from ( across the road) were empty. Even then it was hard to make the turns due to the trees that didn't really add any value. No maintenance on weekends. (1) Site 120 had water stuck in the on position and by the next AM the area in front of our entrance was a mud pit. (2) shower facility nearest camper had toilet in shower full and overflowing We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Pine Mountain RV Resort, Pine Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the newer section of the park, minimal shade the pads were spacious and in vary good condition. No issues wit any of the services, we thought the Cable TV did not work. Within 15 minute of calling the front desk they had a technician who took a look and determined the issues was with our trailer ( and it was.) Clean and quiet. The only negative comment I would have is the bathrooms needed to be pressured washed or something t get rid of some of the high hanging cobwebs. Easy in and easy out. Nice campground, we plan on going back. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Stone Mountain Park Campground, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed the stay, no real issues with the exception that my site (141) was relative narrow compared to the rest. Once I saw the site I asked if I could move and was informed they were at capacity and there would be a fee for moving. The next day I was told they were not at capacity and there would be no fee if I would like to move. Seemed to be a little bit of a disconnect . Quite, clean, and from what I observed well maintained. Wish they had a dog run area. We will be going back. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
