Triple R Resort RV Park, Crystal City, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice long sites with lots of grass around. Much nicer than other parks in the oilfields. Large clubhouse with TV, billiards, gym, books, picnic tables, BBQs, kitchen, laundry room, and bathrooms with showers. Lots of deer around. Has ponds and river access with fishing. Very nice staff who understand the needs of oilfield gate guards. Country setting but close to town. Some RV parts in office. Hiking trail is easy and well shaded though it needs some maintenance. Second laundry facility with change machine up front. We camped at Triple R Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Good park for walking. Checkout the Popeye statues in town at City Hall and across from the HEB. Crystal City hosts the Spinach festival every year. Watch the curve between Crystal City and the RV park as it is sharp and dangerous if you go too fast.

Brush Country RV Park, Carrizo Springs, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

FHU pull through site nothing special but certainly fine. Lots of permanent residents but they all looked kept up. As mentioned before, W/D, bathrooms, and book -trade/movie borrow section are in the office. You have to call number on door to get someone but owner came fast and was very nice and helpful. Cable TV was excellent with many more channels than you usually see in campgrounds. Close to stores and dining. I would happily stay there again and recommend it for short or long term. We camped at Brush Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

WalMart is nearby as well as a very large HEB. Owner understands oilfield gate guard needs. Eagle Pass not too far from here for major shopping.

Rio Guadalupe Resort (formerly Rio Raft and Resort), New Braunfels, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Restrooms as mentioned leave a lot to be desired but the rest of the park is great! Long sites well spaced. Lots of shade (can make it hard to get satellite). Very nice and helpful staff. Fully stocked store. Pool perfect temperature. Right on the river and they offer river rafting right there with shuttle to drop you off up the river and float back down to campground. RV storage behind it. Good burgers at a stand nearby as well as car wash and laundromat off site. We camped at Rio Guadalupe Resort (formerly Rio Raft and Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Good place to stay near Schlitterbahn. River rafting available right there at the park. Good place to store an RV and pull it out to the park. State inspection station close by at the Express Lube.

Tips for other Campers:

Excellent RV repair shop very nearby, Texas Country RV. They fixed a couple major issues on short notice and fixed them well. Will come to park.

You can kayak the lake there but you have to drive it to the lake then bring your truck back to your site and walk back.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely park by the river with nice tables and shelters. Staff were very nice, friendly, and accommodating. They let me stay in the overflow area with electric even before the park had filled up because I just needed somewhere to pull in and out quick for a night. Park did fill up fast though, so call for reservations. Would stay again. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cascade Meadows RV Resort, La Pine, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Nice wide open park (no trees) with wide spaces and full utilities. Wi-Fi worked great. Nice warm pool. Friendly staff. Accepts mail. Good for bike riding. Close to great tourist sites. Enjoyed my week here very much using Coast to Coast membership, and would give it a 10 if not for the road noise right next to it and the nearby train though neither one bothered me a bit inside my rig. Also, the hot tub is closed and covered over. Would stay again. We camped at Cascade Meadows RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Large shady spaces, excellent warm pool and hot tub, planned activities, friendly staff, cheap propane, great location for tourist stuff, delicious burgers at the cafe, well-stocked store, great for bike riding and river tubing or kayaking, quiet, good Verizon signal. My favorite TT park. Staying a 2nd time. We camped at Thousand Trails - Bend/Sunriver in a Travel Trailer.

Chinook Bend RV Resort, Lincoln City, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Right on the river with lots of dock space and boat launch. Friendly staff, good Wi-Fi available at the red barn/office, well-stocked stores, nice hiking trail. Weak Verizon signal but good for satellite dishes. Spaces close together and I had to add a T for water hookup with permanent resident. If I didn't need better Internet signal in my trailer, I would stay again. We camped at Chinook Bend RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Thousand Trails - Pacific City, Cloverdale, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $3.00
Overall Rating:

Great location on the coast near State Park, Dory Landing beach, and Tillamook Cheese Factory. Lots of trees so satellite TV reception can be dicey and Verizon signal weak so I had to use cradle amplifier to work over the Internet. Great Wi-Fi up at the lodge. Sites were narrow but well-spaced and private. Some sites have sewer though most don't and some have cable TV. Nice views and sound of the ocean. Excellent indoor pool and outdoor hot tub. Would stay again. We camped at Thousand Trails - Pacific City in a Travel Trailer.

Downata Hot Springs RV Park, Downey, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

We had a blast here. The pool and slides are great! Price for them is excellent. Twilight swim the best. Friendly staff. No problem using Passport America. WiFi was excellent. Quiet during the week but full of family reunions on weekends. Sites are small in length and close together so minus 1 for that. Fairly level. They do have one very long pull-through site for a big rig, and one might fit a big rig over in spaces 49-50 without water. No sewer hookups but there's a dump nearby in town. Looking forward to going back again and again. We camped at Downata Hot Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sunshine Holiday RV & Mobile Home Park, Oakland Park, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed as Coast to Coast-Good Neighbor. It is in a big city environment, not easy to find since half of sign is not lit and not a big sign. It is the worst site layout I have ever seen with sites so close that slides almost touch and utilities on the wrong side. All paved and level. Basically an RV warehouse. The laundry fine. It is worth staying at as only a place to sleep while seeing the attractions in the area though. We camped at Sunshine Holiday RV & Mobile Home Park in a Travel Trailer.

Skyline Ranch Resort, Front Royal, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a Coast to Coast park. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The site utilities were fine and site was very nice. Some longer and wider than others. Don't expect satellite TV to work there though some sites do. Excellent clubhouse and pool with weight room, jacuzzi, large screen TV, snack bar, miniature golf. Petting zoo. Very very close to north entrance to Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, and Appalachian Trail, and Skyline Caverns. My Sprint aircard worked fine there. Would definitely stay again anytime. We camped at Skyline Ranch Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Wilderness Presidential Resort, Spotsylvania, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Worst campground I have stayed at in a year of full-timing. Unfriendly office staff. Horrible utilities layout (sewer impossible to use). Looks like a low scale trailer park. Noisy jerk across the way. Only 2 washers and dryers. Only 2 showers. Lots of amenities but the camping stinks. I stayed as C2C. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Sumter Oaks RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park, Bushnell, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely setting with lots of oak trees and grass. Very quiet. Clubhouse great with lots of planned and informal activities. Great swapmeet nearby in Webster on Mondays. EVERYBODY friendly here. Called in a water leak and they fixed it immediately. Roads old, narrow and in need of repair. Propane very reasonable. Good launch place within an hour of lots of attractions. Lots of Geocaches around. Sprint aircard worked great here at full broadband speed for Internet. We camped at Sumter Oaks RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Travel Trailer.

No frills camping, and lots of noise from the road during the day, but truly excellent location to visit Savannah. Office often not staffed, but owners around, and cell phone number prominently posted. We camped at Hardeeville RV in a Travel Trailer.
