Lone Rock Beach - (NPS), Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This place is a must do for the area! Park right on the water and swim, boat, or kayak right in your front yard! We came on a weekend so it was close parking to others which would normally not be ideal but with the lake and that view as your front yard, you don't mind the neighbors! Verizon cell service was great, ATT was just OK. We didn't stay long enough to need to use the generator but others did and it wasn't too noisy. Depending on the water level, there is a small cave over in Lone Rock you can boat or kayak over to and get out and stand in it! We will definitely be back! We camped at Lone Rock Beach - (NPS) in a Fifth Wheel.

Wahweap RV and Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

The RV park itself was fine, nicely maintained and spots are close but not too close. There are some reports of cell service working in the area but we did not have a usable signal at the park. We work from the road so this made the stay tough but if you don't need service then this park is a good spot if a bit pricey. There is a nice laundry facility on site with inexpensive machines. The swimming beach is a trek from the parking lot (3/4 mile walk from car to water). We camped at Wahweap RV and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We did the half day Glen Canyon Float tour which was more than enough time to see the canyon. We also did lower Antelope canyon and back haul service kayaking down the river. Both of which are worth the trip!

Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana, Woodworth, Louisiana

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park. We came in January so the park was pretty empty, a few weekend campers and empty during the week. There is no sewer but two dump stations in the park. Bathrooms seem to be far away from the sites. There are many waterfront sites. We stayed at 54 with had water access as well as lots of land in the front of our RV with unobstructed view. We saw lots of deer on the road in and there is a nature trail around the park. As far as water views go, 100 & 95 would be my top picks. If you are camping with another RV, there are quite a few combined pull-thrus but if you got one solo and another camper reserved the other, it would be awkward as you are essentially in the same site. Roads are well maintained. We don't use satellite but I see lots of others with them out. AT&T and Verizon worked good, no boosters needed. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Fifth Wheel.

Encore Sunshine Holiday Daytona RV Resort, Ormond Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first experience with a Encore resort and we expected a little bit better than Thousand Trails. The staff is great, the park is nice, but it is definitely a Florida RV park. The annuals are a lot more clean than some of the other annual residents at previous TT parks. It felt like a mobile home park, all different sorts of people coming and going all the time. The pool was ok, could use some cleaning and the water was slightly green. They put us on a grass site even though there were concrete sites all around us open for our short stay. A resident told us if it rains our site floods. Great. We beat the rain and got out. I would stay again but only if they gave us a concrete pad next time. Our site didn't have sewer but they have a dump service that comes around to your trailer and dumps twice a week for free. We didn't use since we were only there 4 nights but its good to know its available! Both AT&T and Verizon Cell service were good. We camped at Encore Sunshine Holiday Daytona RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Battle Run COE, Summersville, West Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were planning to stay at the free campground a few miles back but little did we know we were arriving at the start of Gauley season so the water in the lake went down a bit each day (they release the water for the rafting). We lucked out and got an amazing spot right on the lake with an almost 360 water view. The park was busy on the weekends and about 1/3 full during the week. We stayed in September 2017 and would stay again, for as long as the park allows. Water and electric at the site, nice dump station. Great cell service (AT&T and verizon) and nice interior roads. Some trees need trimmed and they have pull thrus that are more parallel parking, not exactly big rig friendly. We camped at Battle Run COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Advance, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 3 weeks and the park wasn't bad, not the best but for how large it is, it was just fine. We used the pool everyday, some days it was cleaner than others. We cleaned it ourselves a few times. The park is full of year round folks who are very nice. Volleyball in the pool every weekend. The staff is amazing, very helpful. Tons of golf carts everywhere at all hours. Our site was in the back in lot B near the storage area and there seems to be a lot of people coming and going from up there all night. We were also on a hill pull through so we didn't have any room to sit outside at our site. Both AT&T and Verizon signals were strong. We camped at Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Fifth Wheel.

Henrys Lake State Park, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We camped in our 42 foot fifth wheel and it was beautiful. Plenty to do right in the campground or there is yellowstone a short 30 minute drive away. We kayaked, hiked the loop, and hang out on the lake. There were small leeches in the water, so I wouldn't recommend swimming. Cell service was great and I had 3 different packages arrive for me while we were there. The staff delivered to our RV door! We camped at Henrys Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bryce Canyon Pines, Bryce Canyon, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park itself is fine, nice tree coverage and while spots are close together, it doesn't feel tight. AT&T Cell service worked great. There is a small store and gas station on site and great little restaurant down the road. The park is very convenient to Bryce Canyon Park.

The roads in the park are tight and we witnessed 2 RVs scratch up and even rip off parts of their RVs in the park. Our stay was ruined by the terrible service we had during our stay. This was our second RV park in our new fifth wheel so I called ahead to ask if there was anyway we could get a pull thru site. I spoke to the owner and explained all this and he said we were already assigned to a pull thru. When we arrived the next day, they not only hadn't assigned us the pull thru, they assigned us a site that was too small to fit our RV.

I would not stay at this campground again based on the way they run their business. We camped at Bryce Canyon Pines in a Fifth Wheel.
