Kentucky Lake / I-24 / Paducah KOA, Calvert City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The owners of this KOA are some of the nicest people we've met on our journeys. They are so friendly and treat everyone like lifelong friends. The campground is quiet and clean and just all around beautiful. There was a bronze trophy in the general store that was given to the owners for 40 years of service for KOA. That was given to them 3 years ago. These wonderful people have been doing this for a super long time and you can tell they still love it. That's impressive. We camped at Kentucky Lake / I-24 / Paducah KOA in a Motorhome.

Glenwood Canyon Resort, Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely the worst RV experience we have ever had. My family and I were traveling home to Georgia from Alaska and looked up RV resorts through Colorado. We found Glenwood Canyon RV resort and made reservations to stay the night. The website was well designed and it made the RV "Resort" truly look like a resort. They had zip lining, a rock wall, a ropes course, a resturant, and bar. All on site. We made the reservation and after mentioning my teacup yorkie and two children the price jumped up to $94.00. Now keep in mind we thought we made reservations at a "resort" so the extra 5 charge for the dog and extra 7.00 each for the two kids still seemed fair. After all you pay more for resorts because of the extra amenities and activities. We literally were so excited about getting there that we cut our trip through Arches National Park super short just so we could hurry and get there and let the kids have fun. We arrived at 4:00 pm. Check-in was at 2:00 pm so we figured we still had plenty of fun to be had because the office didn't close until 10:00. After checking in and going to our site we plugged in and took our bikes down. We rode down to the building where all the activities were done. It was literally around 4:25 PM by the time we got there. It looked pretty cool and my kids immediately wanted to do the zip line. The zip line consisted of 1 zip line going across the river then 1 coming back. After finding out it was 35.00 per person and that we had to do it with them so it would've cost our family of 4, $140 dollars for 2 short zip lines we weren't sure about it but still asked when we could do it. The man behind the counter said the next zip line activity starts at 6:00 PM and it was also the last one of the day. We then asked about the rock wall. The man said the rock wall was closed. We then asked about the ropes course. Closed as well. We were shocked! It was a Saturday at 4:30 pm in the middle of July. Why was everything closed?

Leftover trash from previous campers. Straight across from sanitation dump for the entire upper RV site. Also power box way too far from RV. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

Kenai Riverfront Resort, Soldotna, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

By far this was the most incredible experience our family has ever had. We literally accidentally stumbled upon this resort and it was the highlight of our 1 month journey across North America. Our original destination was to Homer Alaska so we only slipped into the resort for one night. The next day we continued on our trip to Homer and Homer Spit. We stayed one night in Homer then because the whole family loved the Kenai Riverfront Resort, we went back to and stayed a week. We even had our 17 year old son fly in from Atlanta just to have the opportunity to meet them and enjoy the Resort. The owners of this resort were amazing. The two young men were incredible friendly, very knowledgeable, and extremely patient while showing my sons how to fish for salmon. From the very beginning they all treated us like we were lifelong friends. The entire host family was very much involved with making the Kenai River an unforgettable experience. We even tried some of their recipes from their website with the Red Sockeye Salmon my 12 year old caught off their dock. My children wanted to go back everyday of our long journey back home. Every day they would ask "Can we go back to Kenai?" My children will never forget Alaska and it is entirely because of Kenai Riverfront Resort and the incredible hospitality of the Family and their slice of paradise on the Kenai River. We camped at Kenai Riverfront Resort in a Motorhome.
