Strafford / Lake Winnipesaukee South KOA, Strafford, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest KOA parks we have visited to date. The sites are back in, gravel and have a picnic table and fire ring. Our site was near the front and was plenty long enough for our big rig and tow vehicle. The park has a ton of amenities to entertain the family. The have a large pond that offers fishing, boating, paddle boarding and swimming. They also have a very nice pool, splash area for the kids and a water slide. Near the office they have the standard bathrooms and laundry services along with a game room with pool tables, fooseball, video games, etc. The park has a decent wifi service and offers cable. See our full reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Strafford / Lake Winnipesaukee South KOA in a Motorhome.

Bay View Campground, Bourne, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Centrally located park with a camping feel. The sites are all dirt and sand in a heavily wooded area. The park has a nice pool, playground, shuffle board and also the standard amenities. They have security at the entrance, cable at each site and their wifi worked well for us. The problem with the park is the traffic in the area caused by the Bourne bridge and the entrance to the park is extremely hazardous. See our full reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Bay View Campground in a Motorhome.

Driftwood RV Resort & Campground, Cape May Court House, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

A large park that is part of the Sun RV network. The park is very large with most of the sites occupied by park models. They have a few RV sites up front for the transient, or short stay, visitors. The park has great amenities with all of the standards, plus tennis, basketball, volleyball, pickle ball, and horseshoe courts along with two large pools. We were in a pull through site that was plenty long enough for a large rig and toad. The parking area of the sites are asphalt with a gravel area between sites that includes a fire pit and picnic table. The park has a gated security and working wifi. See our full pictures and reviews at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Driftwood RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Philadelphia / West Chester KOA, Coatesville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, but bad location and even worse roads. The park is located off windy roads with narrow corners and a lot of low hanging branches. Consider other options if traveling with a large RV. The park has great amenities for the kids and family with a very popular pool, putt putt, jumpy, corn hole, etc. Their wifi was decent, which is a major plus. Being a KOA, it has the standard showers, bathrooms and laundry which were all reasonable. The park is a mix of pull through and back in sites that are all gravel, with most having a concrete pad with a table, chairs and firepit. The roads in the park are problematic to navigate with a large RV. See our full reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Philadelphia / West Chester KOA in a Motorhome.

Prince William Forest RV Campground, Dumfries, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

A heavily wooded campground adjacent to the Prince William Forest park. The park has a nice pool area in the center of it with bathrooms, showers and laundry services. The park has no working wifi and does not offer cable. There are several different site options from water and electric only to full hook up sites. The sites along the center roads are pull through with the edge sites being back in. We camped at Prince William Forest RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye), Luray, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful KOA park located in the rolling hills just outside of Luray. The park has the standard amenities of showers, bathrooms and laundry. The pool area was nice and a popular hang out spot for the guests. The park is easy to access from the highways and has a wide selection of site options. The wifi worked most of the time for updating email. We enjoyed our stay and will likely be returning. See our full review and pictures at thegilliamsisland. Spring Hill Mobile Home Park, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Small and quiet park located in the country area outside of Chapel Hill. The park is heavily wooded, so don't hope for satellite service. The roads and sites are gravel. Our site was a pull through and extremely long. The water pressure is on the low side and the power service is sketchy at best. 50A service is more like low-40s. The park offers WiFi that mostly doesn't work. I had problem updating email on their WiFi. The park offers no cable service for people staying short term and we only picked up only a few channels on our powered antenna. The park is mostly long term and permanent residents. Overall we were disappointed with our stay here and will not return. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.

Pine Mountain RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

A nice and quiet RV park located just a few blocks off the main road with all of the activities in Pigeon Forge. The park is mostly back in sites with a center section of smaller pull through sites. The sites are asphalt and we had just enough length for our rig and our Jeep. The park has the standard amenities of laundry, bathrooms and showers located near the nice pool. The wifi worked well for us during our stay. See our full reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Myrtle Beach KOA, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Great KOA with a ton of family related amenities. The park has the standard amenities along with a nice pool, splash pool, nightly kid "worm train", jumpy, bike rentals, etc., etc. The park is large but it still feels like you are camping due to the dense trees. The sites are gravel/dirt, but mostly flat. They are long enough to handle big rigs and to park a tow. The downside was their wifi did not work for us. We would stay here again if we visited the Myrtle Beach area in the future. We camped at Myrtle Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

The Barnyard RV Park, Lexington, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Good park for price vs. amenities. The pull through sites are 80' or longer, gravel/dirt and with good spacing to your neighbors. There are many trees spread out around the park providing a nice amount of shade, but we were still able to connect our dish. The park has the typical showers, bathrooms and laundry facilities. The location is convenient to the main highways and just a few miles from the SC campus and the main downtown areas. The main downside was the nonexistent wifi, but that is more than offset by the very reasonable nightly rate. See our full reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at The Barnyard RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

A nice KOA with the camping feel that you get to enjoy but still close to all of the hot spots in Charleston. The park has a nice lake with fishing, boating, etc. as well as the normal KOA amenities. The sites are gravel, but flat and most are long enough for a full size rig and a tow vehicle. They park offers cable and their wifi worked most of the time. You pay a little extra at a KOA, but you typically get a decent park with lots of activities for the family and a good atmosphere. This park is no exception. We will stay here again when in the area. Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Conveniently located park right off I-95 with good sites and amenities. The park has a nice pool, bathroom and shower facility along with a pavilion to hold events that need more seating. The sites are all concrete, flat and easy to navigate with plenty of room for a tow vehicle. The park provides cable service and decent wifi. We enjoyed our stay here and will be returning to do more exploring of the GA coast. See our full reviews and all of the pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. International RV Park & Campground, Daytona Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient RV park just minutes from the racetrack and a few more minutes from the beach. Good wifi and other amenities as you would expect. The park is large, but the feel is small. We stayed in a pull through site that is made to handle two RVs that are under ~40 feet. We were unfortunately charged $85/night to take up the entire site where it is $45/night if you are a couple of feet shorter. We will be back to this area, but will stay at a different park due to the cost. See our full review and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. Larry & Penny Thompson Park & Campground, Miami, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

A surprising park south of Miami in the Homestead area. The park is very convenient off the turnpike and offers easy access to the national parks as well as the top areas in Miami. The sites are organized in a circular pod configuration where there are 10 sites on the outside edge and 5 on the inside. The sites are asphalt with grass and large trees surrounding the sites and in between them. The park has reasonable bathrooms, showers and laundry rooms in several locations of the park, a great pool that is open for the weekends and summer months and wifi that works OK. With the low nightly price, great weekly and monthly rates, convenient location and decent amenities, this a great value park and highly recommended. Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $135.00
Overall Rating:

Very overpriced park with horrible customer service. The park is located about 15 minutes from Key West where the sites are each privately owned. Each site has a gravel parking pad, which is very odd given the price, concrete or pavers for the rest of the site and a small tiki hut. The amenities at each hut depends on what the owners have installed. Our tiki had a TV, couch, chairs and bar area. Most sites back up to either the bay side or the canal side. Those sites offer direct access to the water, but not much in the way of views. The park has a common grass area that is half human park and half dog park. They also have a common area along the canal side where about half of the sites back up to the common area instead of the canal. The pool is nice, but the showers and bathrooms are what you would expect at a 20 year old public beach bathroom. The wifi worked decent during our stay. We had a bad experience with the staff while checking in and if you make the mistake of staying here, be sure to be here before 5pm for check in. We have stayed in several RV parks where the sites are privately owned and this park was by far the most expensive and offered the least. I would recommend trying the other park options in the area. We camped at Bluewater Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.
