The Barnyard RV Park, Lexington, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Good park for price vs. amenities. The pull through sites are 80' or longer, gravel/dirt and with good spacing to your neighbors. There are many trees spread out around the park providing a nice amount of shade, but we were still able to connect our dish. The park has the typical showers, bathrooms and laundry facilities. The location is convenient to the main highways and just a few miles from the SC campus and the main downtown areas. The main downside was the nonexistent wifi, but that is more than offset by the very reasonable nightly rate. See our full reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at The Barnyard RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

A nice KOA with the camping feel that you get to enjoy but still close to all of the hot spots in Charleston. The park has a nice lake with fishing, boating, etc. as well as the normal KOA amenities. The sites are gravel, but flat and most are long enough for a full size rig and a tow vehicle. They park offers cable and their wifi worked most of the time. You pay a little extra at a KOA, but you typically get a decent park with lots of activities for the family and a good atmosphere. This park is no exception. We will stay here again when in the area. Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Conveniently located park right off I-95 with good sites and amenities. The park has a nice pool, bathroom and shower facility along with a pavilion to hold events that need more seating. The sites are all concrete, flat and easy to navigate with plenty of room for a tow vehicle. The park provides cable service and decent wifi. We enjoyed our stay here and will be returning to do more exploring of the GA coast. See our full reviews and all of the pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. International RV Park & Campground, Daytona Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient RV park just minutes from the racetrack and a few more minutes from the beach. Good wifi and other amenities as you would expect. The park is large, but the feel is small. We stayed in a pull through site that is made to handle two RVs that are under ~40 feet. We were unfortunately charged $85/night to take up the entire site where it is $45/night if you are a couple of feet shorter. We will be back to this area, but will stay at a different park due to the cost. See our full review and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. Larry & Penny Thompson Park & Campground, Miami, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

A surprising park south of Miami in the Homestead area. The park is very convenient off the turnpike and offers easy access to the national parks as well as the top areas in Miami. The sites are organized in a circular pod configuration where there are 10 sites on the outside edge and 5 on the inside. The sites are asphalt with grass and large trees surrounding the sites and in between them. The park has reasonable bathrooms, showers and laundry rooms in several locations of the park, a great pool that is open for the weekends and summer months and wifi that works OK. With the low nightly price, great weekly and monthly rates, convenient location and decent amenities, this a great value park and highly recommended. Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $135.00
Overall Rating:

Very overpriced park with horrible customer service. The park is located about 15 minutes from Key West where the sites are each privately owned. Each site has a gravel parking pad, which is very odd given the price, concrete or pavers for the rest of the site and a small tiki hut. The amenities at each hut depends on what the owners have installed. Our tiki had a TV, couch, chairs and bar area. Most sites back up to either the bay side or the canal side. Those sites offer direct access to the water, but not much in the way of views. The park has a common grass area that is half human park and half dog park. They also have a common area along the canal side where about half of the sites back up to the common area instead of the canal. The pool is nice, but the showers and bathrooms are what you would expect at a 20 year old public beach bathroom. The wifi worked decent during our stay. We had a bad experience with the staff while checking in and if you make the mistake of staying here, be sure to be here before 5pm for check in. We have stayed in several RV parks where the sites are privately owned and this park was by far the most expensive and offered the least. I would recommend trying the other park options in the area. We camped at Bluewater Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Orlando / Kissimmee KOA, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Nice KOA park just 15 minutes away from the Disney parks. The park has the standard KOA amenities with good showers, bathrooms and laundry room. They have a nice pool area, workout room and playground area for the kids. Their wifi worked great for the week were there, which is always a nice bonus. We had a pull through site that was over 100' long, so even though the sites are fairly narrow, your neighbor is set up at the other end of the site. Easy access to the freeways and the attractions in the area. See our full reviews and pics at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Orlando / Kissimmee KOA in a Motorhome.

Tallahassee RV Park, Tallahassee, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We wanted a one night stop over to break up the drive to Orlando. Tallahassee RV park is located in a great spot right off I-10. The park has a lot of large trees around the park and between the sites. If you want to use your satellite, get one of the more open spots at the very front of the park. The park has a tiny bathroom, shown in one of the pictures, cable and advertises wifi. We did not get on the wifi successfully. The sites are long enough to park your toad or to leave it connected, but they are very narrow. The roads and sites are all gravel. See our full reviews and all of the pictures at our blog thegilliamsisland. We camped at Tallahassee RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sugar Sands RV Resort, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest RV parks that we have visited. The park is a short 10 minutes away from the Gulf Shores beach in a quiet area surrounded by mature forest. The park has every possible amenity. They have extremely nice and clean bathrooms, showers and laundry room in one of their 3 buildings. The other buildings include a public gathering room with board games, puzzles, library, public use computer and printer and kitchen. The park has a large grass area that includes a volleyball area, shuffle board, large fire pit with seating area and kids playground. The sites are long and wide with plenty of distance and landscaping between spaces. The sites are all concrete and have a picnic table at each. The wifi at the park was strong and worked great. We will definitely stay at this park when we return to Gulf Shores. We camped at Sugar Sands RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Gulf Beach RV Resort, Biloxi, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Clean and new park right across the road from the beach in beautiful Biloxi. They just recently opened, so everything is brand new. They have a great pool and meeting/party area that has a postcard view of the beach and ocean. The provide the standard bathroom, showers and laundry facilities. Their wifi worked reasonably well. The sites are concrete and the roads all paved. The only problem is that the sites are super close to each other. So close that your awnings may touch your neighbors awnings or car and good luck opening the undercarriage bin doors without hitting your neighbor. It is disappointing that the built a new park with sites this narrow. See our full review and all of the pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Gulf Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $120.00
Overall Rating:

Great location but not worth the ridiculous price. The park is an oval of back-in sites that are paved and plenty long enough for a large RV and a spot for the tow vehicle. The park has the standard laundry, bathroom and shower. The wi-fi was nonexistent. The office staff was cold and not very helpful. The area is a bit sketchy during the day and just plain dangerous at night. You will be taking a cab due to not being able to walk back from the quarter after dark so you might as well stay a bit further out. Given the price, we expected more and will not stay here again when we return to New Orleans. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lakeside RV Park, Livingston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great park near Baton Rouge. The sites are good sized, especially the pull through sites. The park is located around a lake, with boats, fishing, basketball courts, volleyball courts, strong wifi, and the standard clean showers, bathrooms and laundry room. The staff was great and the park was quiet and peaceful. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. See our full review and pictures at thegilliamsisland blog. Overall Rating:

Nice and new RV park at the far west end of the island. The drive into the main area with the restaurants and other activities is 20-30 minutes. The park has nice flat sites that are concrete with a picnic table and BBQ. The park offers good and clean standard amenities with the bathrooms, showers and laundry. B.J.'s RV Park, Terlingua, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

When visiting Big Bend National Park, there are a limited number of options in the Terlingua area to pick from. This park looks to be the best option based upon the others we saw in the area. The sites are big rig friendly with plenty of room to park your car. The park has a trailer for the showers and bathrooms, which were reasonable, and the wifi also worked reasonably well. For the price and the area, this is a good choice. See the pictures and full reviews at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at B.J.'s RV Park in a Motorhome.
