J.O.Y. RV Park (formerly Sonrise Village RV Resort), Cocoa, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects one month. Very nice park. Managers are very friendly and helpful. Laundry facilities are very clean. $1.50 to wash and $1.00 to dry. Solar heated pool. Wi-Fi strong at my site. No cable TV but for long-term you could get hooked up with Spectrum on a monthly basis. OTA reception not too bad. Close to I-95; could hear the traffic but until unbearable. We camped at J.O.Y. RV Park (formerly Sonrise Village RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Seven Springs Travel Park, New Port Richey, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects 7 nights. This park is real nice. Sites are spacioustill, have a concrete patio and a small picnic table. I didn't use the bathroom but peeked in on them...clean but tight and aged; could use some updating. Laundry facility is clean but machines looked aged. Only $1.25 to wash and 25 cents/10 minutes to dry. Water pressure was fine. No cable TV or free wi-file. OTA stations were spotty. Many full-time and park models but pretty empty during my visit. No pull-thru sites and owner came over and backed my unit in! Very nice clubhouse and pool. Guess they do quite a bit with theiron winter/seasonal guests. I would come back again if in this area. We camped at Seven Springs Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.

Barrington Hills RV Resort, Hudson, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects weekly plus $4/per day resort fee. "Resort" is not what I would call this park; more like mobile home park as most of the units are permanent. Sites were small and very close to each other. Some units are being replaced with a tiny homes. Ladies showers were clean but just barely functioning; i.e., water knobs barely turned on let alone off, water pressure was OK, very small and old. No cable TV and some OTA stations. Weeds growing from the gravel were filled with burrs that seemed to just jump on you. The pool is the only thing I liked here. Will not return. We camped at Barrington Hills RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Alliance Hill 50 Plus RV Resort, Marianna, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I wouldn't call this a resort but it was clean and easy to find. The owner was extremely helpful in that we had at least 3 phone calls while I was enroute, he was at the gate waiting for me, escorted me to the site and said to come take care of business when I was ready. I liked that there was a gate thereby making me feel somewhat safe. The shower was spacious and clean with decent water pressure. There's a pool but didn't use it and a nice laundry room in the office building. Also, that building has a large area with sofas and a big screen TV and a kitchen area. I was one of 4 sites being used...owner said it was his slow time of year. We camped at Alliance Hill 50 Plus RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Sherling Lake Park, Greenville, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

My rate is based on a weekly rate. Very nice no-frills park. Staff is friendly; park is very clean. They pick up the trash numerous times during the day. I was escorted to my site and he assisted me in hooking everything up. Site was concrete and level; roads are asphalt; easy to navigate. My site was close to a main road and you could hear the trucks going by during the day. I had zero problems with ants as others have said. We camped at Sherling Lake Park in a Travel Trailer.

Little River RV Park & Campground, Fort Payne, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

The nightly rate reflects a month plus electric for 2 weeks. I intended on only staying one week but added another week then decided on the month! Owners were very nice! Park is no frills but clean and friendly. Everything is on the honor system: self check-in, purchasing firewood and ice. Bathhouse was clean with great water pressure and hot water. Some steep roads....larger Class A rigs could have a problem but there are several sites right by the office that would suit them. Lots to do in the area. We camped at Little River RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Volunteer Park Family Campground, Heiskell, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

My rate reflects weekly rate. This campground is aged and at least half its sites seem to be permanent campers. Some units have an aluminum carport built over, some just have tarps, lots of stuff around them....I even saw a refrigerator outside one. My site was sloped and narrow. Could not use the picnic table because it sloped so bad....it was also old and moldy. Ladies restroom by the pool was aged but clean. Only 2 shower stalls and very tight. Couldn't get the cable to work but got a lot of channels using my antenna. Office people were very friendly, the park had a free BBQ of pulled pork, cold salads and beans. Guests were requested to bring a dessert. Very nice. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in Knoxville except parking with my truck was hard to find. Oak Ridge has the Museum of Science and Energy...great place to learn about the Manhattan Project. One or two exits south on I-75 had plenty of places to eat.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nightly rate reflects one week plus 3 nights plus tax with Good Sam discount. This park is laid out very nicely. Most sites are pull through with full hook-up service and cable TV. Laundry facility was clean; only $1.50 each for wash and dry. Ladies restroom was clean and spacious. Showers had good hot water and water pressure....even had piped in music! Clientele is mostly 1 or 2 night stays. Owners are professional. The office has an assortment of RV supplies along with some wine from local wineries, a book exchange, and pamphlets for local attractions. The park is very quiet even though it's not a mile from the interstate. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

North Fork Resort, Front Royal, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older campground and 400 or more sites on several levels going down the mountain. There is some sort of ownership organization. The week I was here seemed empty until the weekend. Many units appear to be here seasonal or longer. Some are very dirty looking which takes away from the word "resort". I was lucky to get a back-in site right on the river! Very nice. I had no problem backing in or leveling my unit. No cable TV; got an ABC and CBS station with several others using my antenna. Wi-Fi was poor. Showers were aged but clean. I used the laundry facilities; $2 for a washer and $2 for the dryer. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Quakerwoods Campground, Quakertown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects 7 nights with no discount. This park is open April thru November. However many of the rigs have been in place for much longer than just seasonally. They are unsightly with tarps covering leaky roofs, dirty and lots of "stuff" stored around the site. They should change the name from campground to trailer park. I used the showers by the office. They were barely clean and the shower stalls small. Water pressure was good. I used the laundry facility...again, barely clean. Wi-Fi is better here than most places I have stayed. Lots of golf cart traffic....constant as a matter of fact...some are gasoline and the fumes would kill you. Also lots of vehicle traffic as early as 5:30 a.m. Cable TV had adequate channels. We camped at Quakerwoods Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Indian Rock RV Resort, Jackson, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects 8 nights. No discounts. I did not use any of the facilities. The pool is large and there is a wide open play area for children. They gave me a pull-through that wasn't quite ready for an occupant. They are updating the sewer lines so the connection pipe was quite high making it difficult to use gravity to empty the tanks. I opted to just use the dump station on the way out. Site numbering is a bit wacky. When looking at the park map, I counted five #1s. So each section has a #1. Confusing to say the least. The roads need some attention but overall, I think they are trying to overcome the previous bad reviews. The park was close to empty except for the long-term guests that pretty much had their own area. I did have some difficulty getting the Wi-Fi. Pretty quiet. We camped at Indian Rock RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Timberland Lake Campground, Jackson, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I was hugely disappointed the minute I turned off Hawkins Rd onto Reed Rd. Pot holes galore. Muddy mess after a bad rain storm. Did not feel comfortable at all. Weekend party place. Lots of golf carts and constant back and forth traffic. Workers were nice...they helped me back in my rig and set up. I was supposed to stay 2 weeks but found a different park and moved after one week. Rules printed were not really adhered to or overlooked for long-term guests. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.
