Rocky Hock Campground, Edenton, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly staff. The owner provided us with local area road map as we were unfamiliar with area. There is a large lake with boats available for use by campers; also fishing in lake. Boat ramp access to Chowan River. One week stay. For cell phone service, Verizon or US Cellular work; the campground internet service worked great for us. We camped at Rocky Hock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We were in town to visit friends. Also took planned trips to Edenton, Elizabeth City, and the Outer Banks. In Hertford, there is the "Catfish" Hunter museum. On weekends, music at Dave's New Red Barn; ten piece Red Barn Gang on Friday nights. 8 hole golf "course". Great value for the money.

Fla-Net Park, Flanders, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The staff were friendly, pleasant. Large area with terraced sites. There is a clubhouse with tv and games. A nice area by the small pond to relax in the shade. Two washers and two dryers in a covered but open area. Appears most of the campers are permanent residents. We stayed for one week. The park roads were narrow, curvy, and bumpy. Did not have any internet or television reception. We camped at Fla-Net Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Campground is convenient to interstates, highways. It is across the street from a large shopping center with a WalMart and other stores and fast food places. Also close to a Wild West Amusement Park. We got a train in Netcong that went to Penn Station in NYC. Also, Liberty Park in NJ for great view of NY skyline and statue of Liberty.

Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground, Akron, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for two weeks, planned; had a pull through site with water and electric. No sewer hookups; a dump station by the restroom. Also a "pump-out" service offered for $12. which we purchased. Later, found our pump handle to be broken off. The showers were fairly primitive; inconsistent water temperature. The sites are laid out haphazardly and not well defined on a large grassy/dirt area which was quite messy in the rain. Staff gave the impression of being bothered by the guests. During an evening walk, out of the campground and entering the neighborhood street, my husband was ordered back onto campground and told he was not allowed "out" and to return to his campsite. The campground had three trash dumpsters but were overflowing constantly. We camped at Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.
