Rancho Sedona RV Park, Sedona, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place. Walking distance to uptown area. Good trees but no satellite through them! Internet was very good when it was working - seemed to be set up whereby the office got the bulk of bandwidth, which throttled it for the rest of us (but don't know that this is what was happening). There were times throughout the day where there was NO access and other times when there was 20G. No fitness center. Bathroom seems to be busy all the time. Only two stalls, two showers and two sinks for the entire park (two for women and two for men). Laundry is the most expensive we've seen so far - $2.50 to wash and $2.25 to dry. Slightly cheaper than laundry in town but still too much. Concrete pad for picnic table and gravel rig parking. We travel with two cars and they both fit but apparently that doesn't matter as they had us move one. Very quiet with the exception of the Harley Davidson starting up at 730a every morning. Can't they make those motorcycles less annoying??? We camped at Rancho Sedona RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Sedona is a great town but very tourist-filled. We've been a couple times, different times of the year, and busy. We were in Sedona for two weeks and did a fair amount of hiking. To us, it was mediocre. We are from Colorado so we are spoiled by amazing hiking. Sedona hiking isn't removed from civilization. You can always see buildings and/or hear traffic noise. Very beautiful surroundings, just not our favorite way to hike.

29 Palms Golf Resort, Twentynine Palms, California

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Definitely NOT a "resort". This is a below average park that is a parking lot with a few sad trees. Gravel rig parking, asphalt area with picnic table. Old, barely maintained and just sad. Plenty of room to have tow rig and second car but they wouldn't allow it - $25 for extra car and overflow parking was far from our site. Next to a water treatment facility (which you can't see but can sometimes smell). Golf course next door but 29 Palms is a seemingly dying town so again, just a sad place to be. Joshua Tree and Yucca are much better so go there instead! We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

As mentioned above, Yucca and Joshua Tree are better but we'd stay in Palm Springs, Palm Desert or Desert Hot Springs if we are in the area again.

Kingman KOA, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Level sites and roads but all dirt so with the wind, it wasn't pleasant. Not that the KOA has control over the wind but dirt isn't a great option for an entire campground at this price. The crew seemed to be obsessed with the leaf blower and continued to rev it like it was a motorcycle. It was annoying. Bathroom was clean but old, dark and dingey. We only stayed one night and won't be back. It was a sad place. We camped at Kingman KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Durango North / Riverside KOA, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Location is by far the best thing about this park. Size is also nice in that it is small, which we like. Stayed a week. Busy park with kids on the river. Lots of shade trees. All gravel. Bathrooms are locker room style with individual shower stalls but common sink area. Not enough area to put dirty clothes, towel and fresh clothes. Bathrooms are dingy and need attention. Certainly doable but we preferred using our own shower. No separate pet area and did I mention kids? Altitude is higher here than in Durango so it gets chilly faster (about 12 miles from Durango). No fitness center - disappointing. We don't care for the noise that comes along with kids but we'd stay again for a short period. We camped at Durango North / Riverside KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Las Vegas RV Resort , Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic bathrooms! Pull through with plenty of room for both cars and between our neighbors. Site level. Staff was very nice. Corrected an error of theirs whereby the person helping me by phone made the reservation for the day I called rather than the day I requested. Only staying one night but nice location from the strip and plenty to do in the area. The overall feel of the place wasn't fantastic but goods. Black top and pavement, no grass and very few trees. We would stay again. We camped at Las Vegas RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

WillowWind RV Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Site location wasn't great as it was right at the entrance on the end so we were aware of all comings and goings; however, the site was spacious with room for both cars, the tow rig and toad. Huge shade trees were wonderful. Bathrooms were wonderful - large and individual so showering didn't feel like locker room, woohoo! This place is in town but didn't feel like it given the numerous trees, wide paved roads and being removed from the main road by a block. Stay here rather than Zion River RV Resort.....they are only 7 miles apart! We camped at WillowWind RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Morrilton RV Park, Morrilton, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The other comments are true! Don't stay here unless you are dog-tired and have to stop. That's what we did and we didn't sleep much given the noise of the highway. It is more intense than other grounds near the highway as there aren't any trees or walls, etc. to mitigate the noise. The roads in are unkept with many potholes. The grounds are also dirty with litter, broken glass and the site wasn't level. The trash was overflowing and smelled with flies. The inhabitants (which there are many) are a little scary. Staying in a WalMart parking lot would have been better. We camped at Morrilton RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stop sooner elsewhere or drive on by!!! Good Sam would be embarrassed to know this campground uses their name.
