Triple C's Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee W', Chattahoochee, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Good wi-fi and 30 over air stations. Quiet, very well maintained park with lots of extras, like an outdoor kitchen, benches, step stools for kids in restroom, playground, lots of trees, propane fill, nature trail. Very helpful older gent led us to our site. Immaculate showers, restrooms and swimming pool. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Triple C's Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee W' in a Motorhome.

Springridge Mobile Estates & RV Park, Clinton, Mississippi

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Okay for one night. Cable TV requires a box from office but office was closed. Wi-fi only works in office. Pretty quiet despite being one mile off I-10. Complicated electronic keypad to use mens room or laundry. Site was very unlevel. We camped at Springridge Mobile Estates & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Leander / NW Austin KOA, Leander, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

The office lady was very nice, but the up charges were insulting. $15 for early arrival, $3 for a pet, $5 for guest, $3 for parking, $15 for late departure, clean up fee $25. We visit a lot of NON-KOA RV parks, and this is an unusual policy. Construction noise all night long. Construction equipment with back-up beeping at 3:00 AM. Sites extremely close together. Overpriced at $62. We would not stay here again. Actually, we will avoid KOA parks. We camped at Leander / NW Austin KOA in a Motorhome.

Pricey, but walk .5 miles to French Quarter or 1 mile to French Market. Whole park was pavers with a little grass. Small pretty pool/hot tub. Free ice. Gated and walled RV park with overnight employee in office. Within sight of I-10. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rivers Edge R.V. Campground, Holt, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

There was only one woman's and one man's shower. Very old, clean, small and dark. Small bench and one hook. No A/C. Wifi was slow but worked. Quiet park. Beautiful river. Interior sand roads had lots of puddles after rain but drained quickly. Okay for a one night stay. We camped at Rivers Edge R.V. Campground in a Motorhome.

Bull Run Regional Park, Centreville, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Good location for visiting Bull Run National Battleground. Lots of shady trees. We arrived on Thursday, and the restrooms were not cleaned until Sunday. Even then, they were only marginally clean. Shooting range on site is very noisy. Get a site near the office to get as far from the range as possible. Wi-Fi available at office. Picnic tables next to office is the best place to get Wi-Fi signal, as the router is on the back of the building. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Public bus comes into park for transportation to the College Park Metro Station. This is most convenient. Supermarket less than one mile away. They give an orientation lecture about D.C. and the metro, which is excellent. We took the night tour, with a wonderful guide who got off the bus at every stop to explain things to us. He was funny and had very interesting stories.

Clean restrooms and showers. Lots are very close with a sunny, open exposure. My only complaint is that the restroom/shower was a little farther than most parks. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Spy Museum was disappointing. $36 for two seniors. Waited 15 minutes for the elevator to the start of the museum. Rooms quite small and dark. Difficult to read the display signs because of poor lighting and very crowded rooms. Kids seem to love it, but not recommended for seniors.

Golden Isles Vacation Park, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Check in took 15-20 minutes. Cable TV only available using their cable box, for a $40 refundable deposit, which you hook up to the back of your TV. We were not willing to take down our wall mounted flat screen TV to do this, so we had no cable. Wi-Fi okay. Ladies restroom/shower building was locked at 6:00 AM. Close to I-95 but not much traffic noise. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.

Lazy Acres Campground, Fayetteville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Great overnight stop along I-95. Close to freeway but quiet except for one jet airplane taking off at 6:00 am (may have been military). Level pull-through site. Three very nice, private bathroom/shower combination rooms. Good water pressure and flow in shower with soap shelf and towel hooks. Excellent clean laundry, well-lighted, front-load $2 washers and dryers and TV. Good cable TV and Wi-Fi. If not for the 1/3 mile, well-groomed, gravel/dirt road coming into the park, I would have rated it a 10. We would stay here again. Very nice employees. We were led to our site by a golf cart and guided in. We camped at Lazy Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Holliday Lake State Park, Appomattox, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Laurel Ridge campground is better than Red Bud with larger, more level sites. Campground host was very helpful. We rented kayaks for $8 per hour and enjoyed the lake. The beach is wonderful with lots of climbing structures in the water for the kids. Wonderful hiking trails. No cell service or wi-fi though. We camped at Holliday Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Stone Mountain Park Campground, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Price of $85.00 per night for a premium site included two-day pass for two people for major attractions including gondola to mountain top, railroad ride (30 min.), Historic Village tour (1 hr., excellent), museums, 4-D dinosaur movie and other dinosaur experiences, laser light show with fireworks. We had a very good time despite lots of rain. Personnel were extremely friendly and helpful. The park itself is absolutely beautiful, landscaped, clean, green and well signed. Be aware the parking is normally $15 for entire stay, but increased to $20 for holiday week end. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

No wifi connection first 2 hours. Office unwilling to call service provider after resetting router failed to correct problem. We were offered a refund if we left, but it was raining so we stayed. Wifi came on and was intermittent thereafter. Very pretty park with lots of trees and bushes. Very close to I-75 but not too noisy because large multi-story building blocked traffic noise.
