Shelburne Camping, Shelburne, Vermont

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Our site, which we reserved ahead of time, was very cramped and our RV barely fit into the site. In fact, they had to come out and trim several trees and bushes so we could get into the spot. Trees, bushes and foliage in the area we were staying were unkempt. Due to the size of the site, we could not park our truck on the site. We parked it at a vacant site across from ours. We were in an area that was mostly seasonal or long term residents and many of the sites were a mess. Some sites had multiple vehicles on the site and were quite cluttered. We could not sit out at night due to bugs. There is a pool, 3 feet deep, that appeared clean and taken care of. They advertise 2 pools, I didn't see the second nor most of the other recreational activities advertised. There are 2 washers ($2/load) and 2 dryers (.25/10 minutes). We enjoyed the location of the campground, close to the highway and Burlington. WiFi did not work and phone reception with Verizon was almost non existent. Cable TV was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. We camped at Shelburne Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Dorset RV Park, Dorset, Vermont

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very quiet campground, we really didn't see many people out. It's one of the cleanest campgrounds we've been to. We were in a pull through site that was level and more than enough room. Wifi and cable tv were provided and worked well. They were upgrading the playground when we were there and on Saturday offered a large bonfire for all. We camped at Dorset RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Visit the General Store and Union Store in Dorset, the outlets in Manchester, Thai Basil and Bob's Diner were excellent and the local swimming hole at Dorset Marble Quarry was fun.

Merry Knoll Campground, Clayton, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean, well kept campground. The owner showed us around the campground in his golf cart and assisted us in parking the RV. He was also there the morning we left, in the rain, offering assistance. They were friendly and provided lots of information about things to do in the area. There is a deck on the river that is available for campers that provides beautiful views of the sunset. We saw others using the dock for fishing. There is a swimming pool on site too. We did one load of laundry in the laundromat and it seemed expensive...the dryer took two cycles. We did the rest of the laundry in town. If we go back to the area, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Merry Knoll Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sned-Acres Family Campground, Ovid, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Large family run campground in Ovid which is in the heart of wine country in the Fingerlakes region. The grounds were mowed but beds were overgrown and area surrounding the buildings was cluttered. There is an old cemetery within the campground. We didn't use the showers; the restrooms were fairly clean but somewhat primitive and had an odor despite being cleaned daily. Our site was level, water pressure was adequate and fire rings were provided. Wifi was good and free. We could not get any television stations while there. No discounts were available when we were there in July. We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

High Pines RV Park, Kane, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is located on 219. The RV park is well groomed, the bathrooms were clean. They offer many pull through sites and can accommodate larger motor homes. The sites are level and shaded. There are many seasonal campers here and most sites were maintained. They offer several playgrounds but the putt putt and shuffle board were run down and unusable. Washers are $3 and dryers $1. Wi-Fi is only available at the office and we couldn't access any TV channels. Water pressure was good. The owners live on site and are very pleasant and accommodating. They are working hard to revive and maintain this campground. We wouldn't hesitate to return. We camped at High Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
