Northampton Beach Campground (DEC), Mayfield, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Wow what a hidden gem. Great lake side sites, great scenery, and newer bathroom and showers. The showers were very large with plenty of room to change in. The lake sites are very sandy with a sand bar at one spot that you can walk out on, the bay sights are nice but a little marshey. There is a general store at the entrance that has a deli and breakfast sandwiches and a spot that sells firewood. they have a day use beach with small boats {kayak and row boats} you can take out or a marina close to rent motorboats and a mini golf course. I wish we stayed longer than a weekend but I will next time We camped at Northampton Beach Campground (DEC) in a Travel Trailer.

Lake George Battleground, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Great location that has hiking trails close and walking distance to down town shopping and restaurants and bars. The bathrooms and showers were very clean even for a busy weekend. I had conversations with a couple of the rangers and they were very pleasant and welcoming. The only this I didn't like was the sites were set up strange and tough for bigger campers but that is out weighed by all of the positives of this park. I can't wait to come back next year. We camped at Lake George Battleground in a Travel Trailer.

Crown Point Campground ( NY DEC ), Port Henry, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Incredible scenery with the fort across the road and the lighthouse and pier. The grassy sight look great but turn to mud when it rains causing my truck to get stuck [luckily it stopped raining and I got it out the next day] and the rangers said they will not help me get out, I needed to call a tow truck if I couldn't get out. The showers were disgustingly dirty with bugs under the mats. I would go for the day use area but won't camp there again. We camped at Crown Point Campground ( NY DEC ) in a Travel Trailer.

Need better drainage and gravel instead of grass.
