Yogi Bear's Camp-Resort, Baraboo, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $119.00
Overall Rating:

This was the coolest RV park we visited this summer. There were activities every couple of hours every day, as well as times for meeting Yogi Bear, Boo Boo, Cindy, and Ranger Smith. They had a "Hey" Ride every morning and evening, which was lots of fun. They have a nice-sized pool with a fun water slide and also a water playground right next to that for younger kids. The water playground was lots of fun. My daughter liked going back and forth between the water playground and the water slide over and over all day, every day we were there. There is an 18 hole mini golf course which was lots of fun. The decor of the golf course was very inventive and fun. The park is large and has lots of campsites all over, but still manages to be a pretty park with lots of grass and trees. The staff is all very helpful and kind. They are all professional but accommodating. There are lifeguards at both pools so that the parents can relax a bit while the kids play. There is a poolside bar by the pool with the water slide and they do a poolside party once a week, which was a blast. The park store was full of souvenirs and clothes and all kinds of necessities. The park is close to the freeway, but we were never bothered by the sound of the cars. Yogi makes regular appearances, even going to people's campsites if they request it. We rented a golf cart one evening and drove through the whole park. It's quite expansive and all of it was beautiful. There is a small lake where you can rent boats. We didn't do that, but we did buy the extra wristband to get the mini golf for cheaper. We would definitely stay at this park again and we recommend making this a destination for anyone with kids. We camped at Yogi Bear's Camp-Resort in a Motorhome.

Oakdale KOA, Oakdale, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night on our way to Wisconsin Dells. We enjoyed the park. We would stay there again. The park is easy to navigate, the cable and other hookups were easy to locate and take care of, and the staff was very nice. The store had some cool items for sale. It was fun to look around. They escorted us to our site, even though the park is easy to understand. The playground was very cool. A huge sand box with some fun digging toys that are made so the child can sit on it and pull levers to make it dig. It also had a huge inner tube for the kids to play with and in. The other equipment was fun, as well. The pool was very large and was at a great temperature. There were a few pool toys available for the kids to play with. We camped there in a motorhome. Rochester Marion KOA, Rochester, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night as we traveled through Minnesota. It's a pretty park with lots of trees and grass. The park is kind of cut in half by the road. The office building and some of the RV sites are on the right side of the road as you come down the street, and the pool and other camping sites are on the left inside of a fence. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. Terrific people! We had a medical emergency and one of them drove us to the hospital so we wouldn't have to pay for a taxi. My daughter loved the pool and the playground. There were several large balls and other pool toys available for the kids to play with. We camped there in a motorhome. Jackson KOA, Jackson, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night as we traveled through Minnesota. It's a very pretty park with nice amenities. The pool is a good size and a good temperature. There was a nice grill available for campers to use, but there was also a small charcoal grill at each campsite. There were nice trees and lush grass throughout the park. There was a small mini golf course built on a concrete pad. It wasn't fancy, but my daughter and the other kids at the park enjoyed it. The park store had some fun items as well as having a good selection of necessities. The staff was helpful and kind. We camped there in a motorhome. We camped at Jackson KOA in a Motorhome.

Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We actually stayed here for a few nights to take a little break from traveling. We paid at the PA rate for one night, then the military rate for the remaining nights. For the cost, it was a great value. The pool is nice, great temperature. The bathrooms were clean but small. The showers are small, but serviceable. The playground equipment is fun and secure. The manager and staff are nice and accommodating. The grass wasn't all green and lush, but it wasn't bad. Most of the sites were gravel and appeared to be level. We were on a concrete pad and it was a great site. Even though the park is right next to the freeway, the sound did not disturb our sleep. The cable worked great - you have to get a cable box from the office. I saw a few motorhomes and trailers that used satellite instead of the cable and they said it worked fine. We camped there in a motorhome. We camped at Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We were told to see the Corn Palace, but we didn't do it. There are gas stations and restaurants within walking distance of the RV park.

Douglas KOA, Douglas, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

The owners are super nice people who can be found around the park often. They spend a bit of time getting to know their campers. There is a large playground area with several pieces of equipment. There is a nice horseshoe pit area. There are a few nice wooden swings where you can relax. The pool is nice and clean. The mini golf course is fun and challenging. There is a gazebo in the pool area so you can get in the shade if you need to. There is a specialty coffee shop next to the office. There is a yurt where they do movies and other activities. We went to a painting party there as well as one of the movies. It's air conditioned, so it's quite comfortable. There is an open air wooden structure called "S'moreville" where they do breakfasts, dinners, and s'mores. On the 4th of July, they did several craft activities in the afternoon, including a tie dye shirt and streamers. There was no charge for the holiday crafts. There are wooden enclosures every couple of sites all over the park for the campers to put their garbage in, and is picked up every morning. Each site has its own little raised bed of grass and a picnic table. Very comfortable and excellent value for the cost! We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Douglas KOA in a Motorhome.

AB Camping & RV Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This place was okay. It was fine for an overnight stop. The playground was old but sturdy. There was a large chicken/duck/goose pen immediately next to the playground. Some of the kids in the playground area were poking at the birds through the fence. I think it might be better to have the playground away from the birds. There was a big grassy playing field next to the playground. We did not try the restaurant. The sites were pretty level. Cable was fine, didn't try the wifi. Bathrooms and showers were okay. We camped at AB Camping & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice playground. A game area right outside the office entrance. A huge Connect 4 game, a large size Jenga game, a large checker set, a bean bag toss game. Good place to stop overnight. 2 hot tubs, good cable, decent wifi. Had a pancake breakfast there. It was pretty good. We camped at Denver West / Central City KOA in a Motorhome.

Tiger Run RV Resort, Breckenridge, Colorado

Overall Rating:

Beautiful grounds. We were nestled between 2 chalets. A nice clubhouse with indoor pool and 2 hot tubs. Nice clean bathrooms and showers. Nice playground with great shade. Cost was rather high, but it's one of the only RV parks in the area. It was fine for an overnight stay. It was a beautiful park. We camped at Tiger Run RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Silt / Colorado River KOA, Silt, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great pool and hot tub. Very nice playground. Good cable. Good internet. Nice lounge area inside office building. Nice picnic area. Very nice for an overnight stop. Newer campground, so trees are young. But bathrooms and showers and other facilities are very nice and clean. Nice staff, helpful. We stayed here in a motorhome. Only reason I didn't give them a 10/10 was because I think there should be a military discount. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

Grand Junction KOA, Grand Junction, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $39.00

Nice pool. Clean bathrooms and showers. Very nice playground, mini golf course. They show a kids movie every night at an outdoor theater. Good shade trees throughout the park. Right off the freeway, so it was a bit noisy, but the park is nice and being close to the freeway made it a good, easy overnight stop. We camped at Grand Junction KOA in a Motorhome.

Playground was great. Lots of trees and shade throughout the park. Very nice and helpful employees and owners. Nice pool - could use a sail shade over the shallow end. Clean bathrooms and showers. We got a deluxe patio site and loved it. It was well worth the extra cost. Huge concrete patio and very roomy site. The patio furniture was very comfortable. A very nice fire pit installed in the patio. Very comfortable and affordable. We camped at Richfield KOA in a Motorhome.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Nice pool. The pool has the American flag painted on the bottom which is very fun. The temperature of the water was almost body temperature, which sounds uncomfortable in the heat. But it actually was nice. You don't have a big deal getting used to the water when you get in, but the breeze cools you off really well once you're wet. Level lot. Clean bathrooms. Not a lot of shade trees throughout park, but some nice ones around the pool, putting green, and playground area. Park is visually attractive as you enter the park. Friendly staff, but not overly personal with you. Nice shaded playground. A fun, large sized chess game set next to the playground equipment. Delicious BBQ dinner with ice cream after. Cable works well. Internet has several routers, so the signal is good. Owner was very nice. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park, Santa Rosa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice staff. Owner was a bit gruff, but not exactly rude. I can see why others have said they felt he was rude, but he wasn't rude around us. We did not try the restaurant. Pool was good. Bathrooms were clean. Sites were pretty level. Good place for a quick stop. Cable wasn't very good. Every 10 minutes or less, the screen would go snowy then slowly come back. Internet cut out a couple times in the evening. It was somewhat like a parking lot, not much in the way of trees and shade. The environment doesn't have a lot of trees. We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.
