Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Booked reservations online about 2 months in advance and was lucky to get 3 spots in a row in the quail loop. We had 2 pull throughs and a back in. All spots were very level. The backin site had a height restriction and they were not kidding. We were just barley able to get the trailer under the tree branch. The camp ground was clean and the hosts were very nice. The lake and river is close by and there are lots of trials to hike on. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Dolores River Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 1 week in a premium waterfront site. Our site was definitely long enough but looked a bit narrow. We were a little worried about our slide hitting the tree or the power post but it was just fine. Also, the site was much more level than it appeared by just looking at it. Our only real concern was that we shared the driveway with the site next to us, but luckily all of our neighbors had shorter rv's so we didn't need to move our truck. The sewer connection was more towards the front, so we did need extra hose to reach. As other have mentioned, the water pressure was really low at times, but ok for the most part. We didn't have any issues connecting to the wifi from our site and the connection was good the entire time. We didn't try streaming anything, but it was good enough to upload pictures to facebook. There are some really nice trails to ride your bike or walk the dog. Overall, this is a really nice park and we can't wait to go back. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Goulding's Lodge & Campground, Oljato-Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park with really nice views. We had one of the large pull through sites towards the back of the park. Our site was definitely long enough for our truck and trailer but wasn't very level. We did need 3 blocks in order to get level. Everything worked well, water pressure was a little low at times, but doable. Cable had plenty of channels and we were able to get decent cell and data on Sprint. Monument valley is about 5 miles from the park. There is a grocery store and gas station about 1/2 mile and the lodge and restaurant is about 1 mile away. We would stay here again and recommend this park to others. We camped at Goulding's Lodge & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Zane Grey RV Park (55+ park), Camp Verde, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice adult park in Camp Verde. The staff are very friendly and eager to help. We had a very nice man escort us to our site and help back up in. These sites are nice and wide, with a wooden fence in between to separate you from your neighbor. We were in site 12. It was easy to back into and was up against a hill that blocked the wind, which was nice. My only complaint was that there was a lot of traffic noise from Hwy 260. It wasn't too bad when we were inside, but it was hard to ignore when we were sitting outside. There isn't much around the park, but there is a nice trail that leads down to the creek. We would stay here again. We camped at Zane Grey RV Park (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

Cordes Junction Motel and RV Park, Mayer, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Hosts \ Owners were extremely nice and helpful. Site was ok, fairly close to neighbors but not too bad. There are quite a few that look like they are permanent residents, but everyone was very nice and made a point of introducing themselves. There wasn't enough room to park our truck in our site, but there was a parking spot right across the road, so that wasn't too bad. We did eat at the diner one night. Both food and service was good. We would stay here again. We camped at Cordes Junction Motel and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Alamo Lake, Wenden, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the lower level of the full hookup section. The sites are closer together than some of the other state parks, but really long. We could have put another trailer and vehicle in our spot. Our site was pretty level and the electric and water were in good spot. The sewer was quite a bit away. You are pretty much off the grid here. We had absolutely no cell service for either Sprint or AT&T. No OTA tv channels. We couldn't really see the lake from our spot, but you could just up the hill behind us. We saw several wild burros and one ran right through our site. We would stay here again. We camped at Alamo Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Tombstone RV Park and Campground, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park that looks like it may have been a KOA at one time. Our pull through site was easy to get to and dead on level. We did have to park our tow vehicle in front of the trailer at an angle, but it worked ok. We had a picnic table and grill, but didn't use since it was windy and a bit chilly during our stay. The wifi in our site worked the majority of the time for checking email or surfing the web, but it definitely slowed down as the park filled up. Sprint cell was good but no data. AT&T data was able to stream sometimes. Close to all the tourist stuff in Tombstone, but far enough away as to not be bothered by all the tourists. Would definitely recommend this as the park to stay at when visiting Tombstone. We camped at Tombstone RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tombstone is about a mile and a half away and the most dog friendliest place we have ever been. Dogs are allowed in the gun fight shows, on the trolley tour, on the stagecoach rides and in most of the souvenir stores

Lost Dutchman State Park, Apache Junction, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Another really nice state park in Arizona, I can't think of any reason to give less than the max stars. We checked in just before noon and didn't have any issues at all like the previous poster mentioned. Our pull through site had 3 steps that led up to a large yard area with a picnic table, fire ring and grill. The hookups are on the inside of the site, so if you want to park so that your door faces the mountain, you'll need to run the electric and water under your rig, like we did. But that wasn't an issue. We had such an incredible view. And there are so many trees and bushes surrounding the site, it was very private. We'll definitely be coming back here. We camped at Lost Dutchman State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Buckskin Mountain State Park, Parker, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice state park. We had one of the sites with sewer and our view of the river was amazing. It was unusually warm for late October, low to mid 90's so we needed our air conditioner for most of the day, but the nights were nice enough to sleep with the windows open. At this time of year, the market is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and both the restaurant and arcade are closed. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated), Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is really nice and really clean. Our only major issue was how unlevel the site itself was. We had to go 4 leveling blocks high on the left side just to get somewhat level. It's about a 1/2 a mile walk to the rim and visitors center. Right around the corner, and definitely walking distance, is a full grocery store, post office, bank, restaurant and bar. If you hike up the trail towards the Kaibab trail you can see some amazing views but be warned, there are no fences or guard rails in this part of the canyon. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

White Mountain Resort, Overgaard, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very small park that could stand some tlc. The building were definitely in need of some paint. The sites are all back-in but long enough for our 28' travel trailer and tow vehicle plus. Although the telephone pole in front of the space made it a little challenging getting into. The site was fairly level front to back, but we did have some difficulty getting level side to side and had to use blocks under the wheels. We did have a picnic table in our spot, but it was very weathered and the bench on one side was completely broken. We didn't use the bathrooms or showers or go into the office other than check in. We were able to get cell service on Sprint and some data occasionally on AT&T. There is absolutely no TV service so you have to have satellite to get any reception at all. If you have dogs, you do want to stay on the roads when walking them as there are a lot of little stickers in the "grass" areas. The people there were all very friendly and we would definitely stay there again. We camped at White Mountain Resort in a Travel Trailer.
