Timber Valley SKP Park - Escapees Park (members only), Sutherlin, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $5.00
Overall Rating:

Late arrival and early departure on a boondock site. The check in documents were easy to find and lit well. Gravel space was lined and easy to get into. We camped at Timber Valley SKP Park - Escapees Park (members only) in a Motorhome.

Vineyard RV Park, Vacaville, California

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Extended SF Bay area. Not many great choices, and none are cheap. For the area, this is a good facility. There are many long term guests, and an apparent area for short term guests. The long term guests are courteous, so this is not an issue. Overnight is easy in and easy out. The area I was in is roughly in the middle, and not long term. Sites are diagonal, very long, and spaced well enough for some privacy. 12x12 brick pager patio, table and seats. Some with trees, but no clearance issues. CATV had several HD channels, and some SD. Not all networks. Sat reception is easy on most sites. Two fenced dog areas. Not the prettiest, but absolutely functional. We camped at Vineyard RV Park in a Motorhome.

Will stay again. Suggest interior sites for the most quiet. The long term guests all seemed friendly. The area seems to be trying to recover from nd times. We camped at Golden Village Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Californian RV Resort, Acton, California

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Solar being added around perimeter. Workers started am, including drills and beeping man lifts. Nice enough place. Good electric volts, good water pressure. Dog run was closed, and appeared small. No cable. Spotty OTA. Saw many using satellite. Wifi was spotty, used cell instead. AT&T was acceptable with booster. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Inn Town Campground, Nevada City, California

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in 1, 2, and 3 with friends. Excellent facilities, staff, and owners. The loop is a great walk for dogs. Cell and wifi speeds were 10mb or better. Follow the directions on their web site, not a gps, to avoid narrow roads, low trees, and tight turns. Call and discuss the right site for your preferences. Many options, with very unique sites, including a couple overlooking the railroad museum. The common areas are well thought out and executed, as is the entire facility, by people who really camp/rv. Will definitely return. We camped at Inn Town Campground in a Motorhome.

Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Same as always. Great staff, clean facility, good value. Did have to move to a different site to accommodate our stay. They allow parking by the activity center to fill the time gap from check out to check in. This was great for us, since we were out fishing all morning. We camped at Winchester Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ask what day the lawns are mowed... to avoid surprises. Unger's fish is now gone (locals say for good) but there are several other choices within a mile (easy and safe) walk.

Durango RV Resort, Red Bluff, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Fountain is on timer, came on in the morning, slightly startling until we realized what the noise was. Yes, you can hear the freeway noise, but it is not terrible. Closest to the freeway are the long term sites. Clean and well kept facility. Power pedestal on BOTH sides of site. Allows back in or pull in! The surrounding area is not the best, but nothing to worry about if cautious. Site 86 has the path to the pool next to it. If a concern, park with your entry door/awning on the other side. We arrived late and left early...If arriving late, ask how to get in. The gate is locked, you have to use a call box, but one sign said no late arrivals. Would use the facility again. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Artic RV Park, Cosmopolis, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very unique location. Clean facilities, roomy sites. A great get away. Patience when driving in the loop. 42ft, including tow, fit fine. The front has the larger pull through sites. Probably easiest for first timers to park at the pub, walk back to the office, and visit your site. It is not far. We camped at Artic RV Park in a Motorhome.

Long term renters in back. Low voltage. Not one of the RARE dates an ac is not needed, so we ran gen as needed. If my EMS trips more than once, the power is inadequate...Only for an overnight, and only if you do not need reliable power. We camped at Los Banos West / I-5 KOA in a Motorhome.

Seattle / Tacoma KOA, Kent, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00

Extremely tight. They sell some as pull through, but tell you to disconnect before going in. They had the horseshoe pit rented for a renter. They tried to give us a lesser site than we paid for. Many long term residents. We camped at Seattle / Tacoma KOA in a Motorhome.

St. George / Hurricane KOA, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

No fenced dog area. Our site seemed to be a converted overflow area. Had CaTV line running on ground through sites. Acceptable though. Level enough for one night. Spotty ATT connection, even with booster.

Follow the directions on their site (and look for the signs). Not GPS friendly. The route "by the lake" is not one I would recommend. Sites are odd/even, front and back, so you share door space with your neighbor. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Motorhome.

Barstow / Calico KOA, Yermo, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Hot, hot, hot. It is desert. Some shade sites. Pet area has no shade, so caution. Ground was over 130deg. Adequate for overnight, depending on temperature. If you do not need to go outside your unit, can be fine for overnight. I would not pay extra for an upgraded site, since it was too hot to be outside. Propane service required calling in to schedule someone to be at fill station. We camped at Barstow / Calico KOA in a Motorhome.

Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated), Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Staff went through each day, checking vacated sites. Sites are not level. Sloped to left front. For us, 5 inches on LF tire. Garbage dumpster can be a hike, stored it and used towed to drop off trash. The number of rental units is roughly 25%. Sort of like sitting at a boat ramp, watching the renters figure out how to park (leveling blocks?) and hook up. Offering tips can lead to meeting nice people. We heard at least 5 different languages in the sites. Verizon connection was acceptable for email. ATT was very spotty. ATT connection cannot be relied on in campground. No wifi. For ATT, try over by the hotels. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is an unmarked path to the marketplace, easily walkable. Other than the first few rows (a, b, c) it is a fair hike to the bus stop. End spots are the best, although they do not take requests.
