About dalsgal

My husband and I used to live in and work out of our 1952 Trailways bus that was converted. We were offered a job managing a CG and worked here for almost 7 years, under 2 different owners. We just lost our job here and are hoping to find an inexpensive motorhome and we will be leaving here very soon to return to the Carolina's which is home for me. I hope to end up with a work camping position near my mom so I can help her out.

Park is new and clean. Mostly permanent campers here but they were friendly, as was the staff. They even had fresh vegetables available for sale. If back in the area we will stay there again. We camped at Cedar Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sites are very close together and mostly used by permanent campers. Bathhouse is individual bathrooms and very clean. Other campers very pleasant. Staff is the friendliest and most helpful we have seen in a long time. Nice large area for dog walking. We camped at R V Relay Station in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park, bathroom was spotless. We were put in unfinished area so it was pretty muddy. Manager argued with me over length of our bus conversion. Never told us about Wi-Fi and was overall pretty rude. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

This is a new campground. Very open and still in the process of being set up. Very clean shower house and laundry facilities. Close to highway but still fairly quiet. We would most definitely stay here again if through this way. We camped at Country View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beagle Bay RV Haven and Campground, Sarcoxie, Missouri

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a totally uncared for campground. The bathroom had kitchen garbage in it as well as about a bushel of leaves. Many of the sites had electrical posts that were nonworking, and a strong sewage smell was everywhere. Buildings are run down almost to the point of falling down. Permanent campers have run cords across drives to hook up to electricity. We had to go 1/2 mile up the road to find owner to pay for site as we were leaving. I never saw any pool, no store and no office as they claim to have. We camped at Beagle Bay RV Haven and Campground in a Motorhome.

Ozarks Mountain Springs RV Park, Mountain View, Missouri

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Definitely not a fancy campground, not even very pretty but the people are super friendly and rates are good. Even better rate if you are member of some clubs. We used our Good Sam discount. Mot people here seem to be on a monthly basis. They even give a bottle of local made molasses when you check in. We ended up staying four nights because of bad weather and with the quiet here we were able to really relax. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. We camped at Ozarks Mountain Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Duck Creek RV Park, Paducah, Kentucky

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Cleanest showers I have ever seen, cleaner than most homes. Individual showers with heat at office, unheated at poolside. Very open, mostly rental campers but plenty for overnight. Sites pretty level, good wifi, very friendly staff unless you come in while they are trying to watch TV. We camped at Duck Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Big Bone Lick State Park, Union, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Campsite we chose had construction going on directly behind us and we were not notified of that before we parked. Showers were very poorly lit, very small and not very clean. Walking access not good for people to get to pool and our campsite was used as everyones pass through with people even touching our vehicle as they cut through. Saw dogs not on leash in spite of leash rule. Only man at desk was friendly, Male camp host barely spoke, female just stared. We camped at Big Bone Lick State Park in a Motorhome.

Renfro Valley RV Park, Mount Vernon, Kentucky

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The water was cut off because of the frigid weather which was understandable. However, when I went to take a shower the water was not even warm enough to bathe a baby. Also one was out of order, one had no hooks for clothing and none had a place to put soap, shampoo and other necessary items. There are virtually no trees, not terribly level spaces and not welcoming at all. When we checked in we got the same "not welcoming" from them. Would only stop there again if absolutely necessary. We camped at Renfro Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Gulf Shores / Pensacola West KOA, Lillian, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Poorly graded sites, huge rain puddles, poor drainage. Wi-Fi was iffy at best. Was told it was working properly but 3 people reported problems at the same time and we were told it was our computers. Long walk to dumpster that was located at entrance not at exit, no site pick up. No speed limit, and even staff drove way too fast through park. We camped at Gulf Shores / Pensacola West KOA in a Motorhome.

Southern Comfort Camping Resort, Biloxi, Mississippi

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was paid for and reserved for us by a friend. When we arrived there was a mix up about our arrival date so we were put in the overflow section for the night which was no problem. However, the next day they decided that we didn't look "good enough" for that site and we were not even allowed to move into a spot with sewer and ended up spending the week in the overflow section. There were many campers and motorhomes in much worse shape than ours, some even sat with parts missing and flat tires. No explanation or apology was given to us. We camped at Southern Comfort Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Town Creek Campground COE, West Point, Mississippi

Date of Stay: December, 2007 - $16.00

Very quiet this time of year. Sewer available for $2 more a night, same for waterfront. Very cold when we were there and very minimal heat in shower house. Volunteer management, not very customer service oriented. Had to hunt them down to be able to get site. We camped at Town Creek Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Parnell Creek RV Park, Woodville, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2007 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Sewer and electric too far back to be used conveniently. Water leakage around water hookup caused thick mud around water line. Rules state pets on leash but we had a small dog outside our camper for hours yipping with no leash or collar. Was told by management that another camper there does not use leash for her dog either. WiFi didn't work. New owners have little office organization. Ok spot to overnight, but not for a long camping trip. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Harvest Moon RV Park, Adairsville, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2007 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Sites a bit too open for my taste. Many regular campers there, had dogs that yapped constantly. Shower stalls were dark and dated, but clean. Dryers put out very little heat for your money. Not well advertised. We camped at Harvest Moon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Country Woods RV Park, Franklin, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful mountain campground. Sites are on hills, but level, with gravel in each site. Sites are fairly close together but with trees it is still nice. Most people live here from April til Nov but there are plenty of sites for others. There aren't many sites that can accommodate 30 ft or larger. Owners help you get parked and are very friendly. Bathrooms very clean, there is a reading room, laundry room, tables for group meals. I recommend this campground to anyone. Close to town. Very friendly campers. We camped at Country Woods RV Park in a Motorhome.
