Camden Hills State Park, Camden, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here in the field last in 2005 for $16 per night. Now because they added water and electric the rate jumped to $30 per night. The reservation fee added another $2 per night. The location is nice for hiking and as a base for touring but in my opinion not worth $30. We won't be back. We camped at Camden Hills State Park in a Motorhome.

Mattawamkeag Wilderness Park, Mattawamkeag, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This park is great for anyone with a tent or small camper that wants the wilderness experience. We found the access, 9 miles of narrow & rough dirt road, unacceptable for any motorhome. It took us 45 minutes just to safely navigate the road and now are a muddy mess. I did not see any place along the road that we could turn around or even enough room to pull to the side if we met another camper. The staff were extremely friendly and I do hope for the future of this city park. We camped at Mattawamkeag Wilderness Park in a Motorhome.

Table Rock State Park, Pickens, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great park as a base for hiking trails. I agree that the restroom are dated but they are kept as clean as possible. We made reservations on a site that was plenty long enough for our motor home, but it was so steep that I had to put about 10 inches of blocks under our front wheels. Just beware of numerous steep sites especially if you have a motorhome. We camped at Table Rock State Park in a Motorhome.
