Mustang Island State Park, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We camped one night in a hook up site and two nights on the beach. The campground area was OK, just a parking lot with electricity, water and a covered picnic table. The bathroom/showers were very run down but clean. There was plenty of security, even on the nights we were parked on the beach. My only problem was all of the garbage strewn everywhere, around the park and especially on the beach. I think the state has a responsibility to clean up the beaches. They're collecting money ($20 per night to camp on the beach - including the park admission fee) so they should be able to afford a few trash bags and folks to pick up once and a while. We camped at Mustang Island State Park in a Motorhome.

Riverview RV Park, Cut Bank, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with exceptional owners and management. They were all very friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms, showers and public areas were immaculate and definitely the best I've seen in any campground anywhere. The only reason we didn't rate this one a 10 was because the sites were so close together. We had the neighbors kids right under our windows all evening. It's a good spot for an overnight or if you're day tripping to Glacier National Park. We camped at Riverview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sleeping Ute RV Park (formerly Ute Mountain Casino RV Park), Towaoc, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park in a good location. The sites are small, but each has a small patch of grass and a tree. This is very well maintained park with excellent security. The showers and bathrooms were clean and secure. They had a cable hook up, but we didn't try it. We've been to this park a couple of times now and will go again when we're in the area. We camped at Sleeping Ute RV Park (formerly Ute Mountain Casino RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Mono Vista RV Park, Lee Vining, California

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We were in a tent site with our Class B because all of the RV sites were full. This was a nice park with lots of shade. The RV sites seemed kind of close together but we had plenty of space on a tent site. The showers were great, you get a large room with plenty of space for dressing. I thought charging $1.00 for a shower was kind of a bad deal after paying so much for a site however. The dog area was clean when we were there and much appreciated by my road weary mutts. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Riverside Oasis Campground & RV Park (closed), Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I was also at the Western Class B rally/social. This was a nice park with lots of shade and real grass. The management was exceptionally friendly and helpful! Showers and bathrooms were clean, even though the park was full. Sites were gravel pads with trees and grass surrounding them. I will definitely go back to this park next time that I'm in the Moab area. We camped at Riverside Oasis Campground & RV Park (closed) in a Motorhome.

Reno KOA at Boomtown, Verdi, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice park, although it looks a bit like a parking lot for now (until the trees grow up). It's in a good location. The sites were level and everything was in good working condition. We didn't use the Wi-Fi at $4.95 for 24 hours since we had our own internet connection via broadband. The others who state that there was only one bathroom/shower are incorrect. All you need to do is ask at the desk for a key to one of the private indoor stalls. They were spotless. The staff at this location was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again. We camped at Reno KOA at Boomtown in a Motorhome.

Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort , Felton, California

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Super management/owner! He was very helpful with info on things to do and see in the area as well as info on restaurants and grocery stores. He offered us his phone number to call with questions while we were in the area. The sites were small but level and quite acceptable. The grounds are awesome! Unfortunately the bathrooms/showers were pretty dirty the night that we were there. I would use this park again however, and bring my own bottle of bleach spray for the bathroom. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Craig KOA (formerly Craig Campground), Craig, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice management and owners. They've made a great effort to keep the place clean and well maintained. Unfortunately the sites are very, very small and close together. Once the neighbor in the big 5th wheel opened his slide out we could not use our picnic table. OK for an quick overnight but definitely not a place for a long stay. We camped at Craig KOA (formerly Craig Campground) in a Motorhome.

Arapaho National Forest / Sunset Point Campground, Granby, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground, nice shady sites on a lovely alpine lake. It is urrounded by snow capped mountains, what a wonderful place to stay. Sites were gravel, all back in type, mostly level. Nice picnic tables and fire grates. Exceptionally well maintained. This is a rustic campground, probably not suitable for large rigs. Vault toilets. No hookups are available here, this place is for the nature lovers. It's right on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. Nice, friendly campground hosts. I can't wait to go back! We camped at Arapaho National Forest / Sunset Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Rifle Gap State Park / Cottonwood Camp Ground, Rifle, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful Colorado State Park campground, looks to be almost new. Lots of trees, but they're still small. Large, paved, level pads with covered picnic table, fire ring and grill. Campground hosts were helpful and friendly. Nice quiet location, beautiful lake stocked full of Northerns, Walleye, Crappies etc. Nice picnic sites. Spotless bathrooms with private shower rooms (bring some quarters for the shower) We would definitely go back to this one, as well as others that we saw in the area. We camped at Rifle Gap State Park / Cottonwood Camp Ground in a Motorhome.

Newport News Park Campground, Newport News, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground, large shady sites, lots of beautiful trees. Only reason I didn't give it a 10 was the fact that it was very noisy (from nearby freeway) and the fact that the sites were not very level. Shower and bathrooms were clean. There are plenty of nice paths for walking. Great place for a stopover on your way through the area. We camped at Newport News Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Angel Lake RV Park, Wells, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely beautiful US Forest Service Campground, just outside of Wells NV. The park is in a lovely setting, with a jagged cliff rising above the campground with a waterfall running down into a small, deep lake with lots of trout. There are no amenities here, no hookups etc, but the sites are large with a fair amount of privacy between them. All the sites have a paved concrete slab for the picnic table and fire rings. The parking pads are asphalt as are the roads. This is a beautiful spot to park and get off the interstate (about 12 miles off I 80) and enjoy some peace and quiet. Nice hiking trails too. We camped at Angel Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.
