Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Probably one of the nice KOA's we have stayed at. Park is clean and well maintained. Spots are gravel and level but bit narrow. Room enough on gravel for chairs. Power and water service is excellent. They tend to have the full timers in a separate section than short stay which is nice. Good location to visit area. Bit noisy since flight path close by for airport but not to bad. Staff was friendly. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

Duvall in the Smokies RV Campground, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground, owners onsite and very friendly and helpful. There is propane available, ice, firewood etc. It is just off the road down a hill so you will get road noise. Park is in the flight pattern of large flock of geese. Pretty cool. Grass is still growing between sites so you have to walk the fur babies to the front of park for large grass area. The owners were great and showed they wanted you to enjoy your stay and be comfortable. Trash pick up at your site three times a day. Honor system for ice and using the washer dryer. Pay when you check out. Propane available as well as air. They have motion sensor lighting at each spot and along the roads. They do require pads under your levelers. We would for sure stay again. We camped at Duvall in the Smokies RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This place is built on side of Mountain. We disconnected before pulling in and reconnected when we left at area near interstate. The spots at mountaintop are great but steep climb. You walk up and down everywhere. Dog walking areas are few but useable. But again uphill one way or the other. For sure gets step credits. Good place to visit the area though and there are some stores close by.

West Palm Beach / Lion Country Safari KOA, Loxahatchee, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Park is nice and seems well maintained. Sites have concrete patio but grass parking. Some sites are close but most have room in between and the sewer connections aren't near the patio which is nice. Pool was very nice, plenty of covered tables or lounge chairs. You can hear the lions roar from the KOA. We camped at West Palm Beach / Lion Country Safari KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to town of Leesburg. Great home made ice cream shop about 10 minutes down the road.

Site wasn't fully level. Had to put pads down on front tires so it would be airborne when on leveled. Biggest issue was horse flies and mosquitoes. They were terrible. Rangers were great. Never saw park host out and about but wasn't looking for them either. Nice trails to walk. Not best place to bike ride. It is hilly. Would take a big coach or trailer here.

Wekiwa Springs State Park, Apopka, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is our go-to for weekend away place. Campground is nice and park has trails and bike riding. Of course the springs but not during the day when everyone uses them.

This place gets busy on weekends. If you leave the park you are told you will set in line to get back in. They need a separate entrance for the registered campers to use. But in all it is a great place to camp and the rangers are very friendly. Going to the springs in late afternoon after the day trippers have left is also relaxing. We camped at Wekiwa Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Fort McCoy / Lake Oklawaha KOA, Fort McCoy, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is out in middle of nowhere. If you want quiet, lay around kind of place, this is it. Used mainly by four wheeler folks to run trials in area. Campground is clean, spread out and large. Pads are grass and generally level. Evenings are quiet and surprisingly bug free at this time anyway (March 2018). The campground employees were very nice. They do have a pool and clubhouse. Pool is clean. We camped at Fort McCoy / Lake Oklawaha KOA in a Motorhome.

Manatee Springs State Park, Chiefland, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Park is big for a state park. Roads around campsite not the best but was wide enough for our 28' class a. Just some pop holes and not paved. Each trailer/RV site had good amount of room. We were on the Magnolia 2 loop which is newer has full hook ups. The Hickory and Magnolia 1 are rustic with only water and electric, dirt sites. Tent sites mixed in with the Trailer/RV sites. Water pressure was great and so was power. Restrooms reasonably clean and had hot water. No ATT signal. Wife had one bar Sprint. two public broadcast stations only OTA. Town about 6-miles down the road. Good BBQ restaurant and Wally World store. Springs were nice and not to busy week of July 4th. We camped at Manatee Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not a great deal in park to do. They do have canoe and kayak rental to do the Swanee River. Some hiking trails but not very well marked. Town is close for stuff you may need. Gainesville easy drive to do some stuff at UF. There is Dudley Farms State Park (1800) farm with buildings still in place, close by nice place to visit.
