Medoc Mountain State Park, Hollister, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The staff greeted us right away and was very friendly and helpful. We arrived before check-in, our mistake and they directed us to the main office to see what was available before the 4pm check-in. We changed to a beautiful site and set up. They are level spots with electric and beautifully wooded. There is water every few sites to fill up tanks. There are trash cans every few sites, too so you don't have to go far. There was no ATT service and only enough Verizon service for phone calls, but not web surfing. We forgot some of our food and the closest grocery is 25 miles away so plan ahead. Women's showers were clean but my husband said men's were not. The hiking trails were excellent and we walked there from the campsite. It was very quiet and serene in the campground. Beautiful setting, wonderful staff, and the expected amenities for a state park. Excellent get-away. We camped at Medoc Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Oak Hollow Family Campground, High Point, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Sections A and C are very pretty and wooded. We looked out to the lake with no obstruction. Section B is a gravel, unwooded lot. The park itself was pretty and well laid out. The showers in section C had numerous cobwebs and didn't seem to be recently cleaned. The toilets were clean, though. A prior review was accurate in that there was no ventilation in the bathouse and quite hot in July. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.
