Manzano's RV Park, Silver City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

If you stay for a week you only pay for 5 nights. This is a small and very quiet campground. Mostly full timers with a few sites available for tourists. We had site 5 and it had some shade. Temps in the 70's low 80's so you really didn't need shade. Road to campground is a very dusty, bumpy, dirt road. Not their fault, it's not their road, it's a county maintained road. When you arrive Stop just inside the brick entry, the road to the sites is very close and if you stop at the office you'll have to back your rig up to go to your site. The owners are very nice and accommodating. They go out of way to make sure everything is okay. The owner shows you to your site. The office is a house with one restroom for women and one for men, doors are locked at 8PM and opened before 7AM. Restroom is clean, didn't used the shower. trash is emptied many times during the day. Didn't use the laundry, there's one washer and one dryer. One of the bedrooms has exercise equipment, there's tons of books, puzzles, and magazines to read and a lot of DVD's. Everything is on the honor system. 2 suggestions: one would be to put an electronic numeric push button lock on the door so you can use the restrooms later in the evening and the second suggestion is to add a fenced doggie park. There's space behind the trash bins to put one in. We would stay here again. We camped at Manzano's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Went to dinner at Sakura's a new Japaneses restaurant in town. It was good, they just opened and didn't have their liqueur license yet. Cliff Dwellings were very interesting to see and learn the history. Caution it's a very steep climb with some hand rails and lots of loose gravel and narrow paths.

Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA (formerly Magic Circle RV Park), Willcox, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here before and new owners are doing a great job. They made lots of great improvements. Restrooms/Showers are all new, great decor and very clean. Excellent WiFI and Cable TV. New sewer connections and water. Sites are all level and spacious. Great dog park area with all new gravel. We stayed in a deluxe site that had a patio table, bench swing, and a bbq. They plan on adding a pool, restaurant, and more RV sites with a stable. Yes it is off of the Interstate, noise wasn't a problem, we just turned on a fan at night and you couldn't hear the trucks. Staff is very friendly and We will stay here again. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA (formerly Magic Circle RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Page Lake Powell Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Our Site was level and wide but difficult to back in to due to the rows being too narrow for larger rigs due little maneuverability and over hanging tree branches. Sewer connections were too low. WiFi intermittent, cable TV okay. Good water and water pressure. Clean bathrooms and showers, 2 nice party patios, Pool spa and game room. Although it was dog friendly there was No designated fenced dog area for dogs to run off lead. There were no restrictions for aggressive dog breeds. There were several aggressive larger breed dogs present while we were there which some owners had a hard time controlling. I would have rated it higher if it wasn't for the narrow roads for larger rigs, no designated fenced dog park, and aggressive dogs. We camped at Page Lake Powell Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Zane Grey RV Park (55+ park), Camp Verde, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times. Great RV Park for adults. Wide rows with spacious RV sites, very level gravel which they groomed after each check out. Many trees, a fantastic dog park with a small agility course. Our dog just loved the long run and playing with other dogs. It's next to a small nature area for walks in the woods along a babbling creek. Camp hosts are wonderful, they go out of their way to make sure you're having a good time. All the staff are friendly. Saturday mornings they have coffee and donuts, there's a tip jar to help with the cost. They periodically have Pot Lucks. They have camp fires at night in the group area. There are many seasonal RV's who are also very friendly. We camped at Zane Grey RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Moscato's Italian restaurant in town was delicious. White table cloth, excellent service, reminiscent of Italian restaurants in Chicago or New York. Sedona is close and Flagstaff is an hour away.

Las Cruces KOA, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night on our way home, great city views but we won't stay here again. The site we were given we had to make a tight blind turn around a raised rock area and in doing so there was a very large rock that was down on the road way. The truck missed it but the back wheels of the RV didn't. the first wheel went over it and it got stuck between the 2 wheels. As we were trying to figure out how to get unstuck the owner came out in his golf cart. It was almost as if he remember the rock was there and had forgotten to move it. We were barely able to back over it. It took him and my husband to get it out. He didn't offer and apology. The sites are terraced gravel and have concrete runners that are not level and barely enough room for the bump outs. There's a picnic table but if you sat on the one side it was right on the edge, very dangerous. We camped at Las Cruces KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tucumcari KOA, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one night on the way home. Not well kept up. Tree Branches very close to pump outs, sites not well maintained, Grass around their rental 'Retro RV's' almost calf high. Dog park also needed to be mowed. It rained and sites were flooded. We won't stay here again. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Elk City / Clinton KOA, Canute, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for one night on our way home. Great park, fairly new owners making improvements. Staff are very friendly. The restaurant was very good and they have a little mini store for your camping needs. Our site was level and spacious, lots of shade trees. We didn't use the pool but it did look inviting. Great dog park, our dogs loved it! One of the better KOA's we've stayed at. There was a funnel cloud right after we checked in and they let us stay in the office with our dogs. They explained their process in case of a tornado, yes they have a tornado shelter! We felt very safe. We will definitely be back! We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Topeka / Capital City KOA, Topeka, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one night on our trip home. Dirt road to get to the Campground, gravel site not level, close to one another, barely enough room for our vehicle. Dog park okay but fairly far away over a small bridge. Okay for one night but I wouldn't want to stay longer. There were storms that night and when we checked in we weren't told about what to do in case of a tornado and if there was a tornado shelter. Being in tornado alley they really should inform campers what the process is. Are there sirens, do they come and blow their horns, where the shelter is, are pets allowed etc etc. In addition there was a lot of flooding around the camp sites due to the storm. We camped at Topeka / Capital City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Sycamore RV Resort, Sycamore, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 10 days while visiting family in the area. Great park during the week with seasonal and workers who have temp jobs in the area but on weekends it fills up with the "weekend crowd" that can be noisy. Quiet time is 11 PM which is strange, every campground we've stayed at it's 10 PM. Also on weekends the crowd doesn't pick up after their dogs. Not the RV parks fault just inconsiderate campers. Sites are tight and you notice it more on the weekends when it gets filled up. Sites near the showers and laundry area due pitch for drainage, Sites 64, 65, 66, 67. The park has a nice lake you can walk around and fish it also has a small beach. Owner lives on site and isn't very friendly until he gets to know you. We camped at Sycamore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground, Altoona, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent RV park, concrete sites are long and far apart with grass between. Nice walking path around a lake. Set up for seasonal RV's and We stayed here one night on our way back to AZ. We would stay again. The restrooms and showers were immaculate. The only strange part is there is no check in, you call when you are near and they stay on the phone with you and guide you in. Downtown Riverside RV Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one night on our travels. You must arrive before 5PM if you can't you need to call and let them know you will be arriving late. You need an access code for the gate which closes in the evening. This RV park is in Downtown North Little Rock and the streets are narrow, we managed with a 35 ft 5th wheel but I wouldn't want to be there during rush hour. Pull thru's are very long and are on concrete pads. The back ins are along the river. The 2 bridges have lights on them at night. We camped at Downtown Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Stayed here 2 nights while we visited the Silos's that were 10 min away. Our site was great, new concrete pad, very spacious, picnic table, lots of grass and shade trees for the dogs. Mark the owner was very nice and helpful, took us to our site, made sure we were okay, and gave us directions. Permanent campers were friendly. It rained and the mosquitoes were terrible so bring bug spray! Wifi was intermittent but that was okay, great TV reception. We will definitely stay here again. Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night on our way to Waco. Very old park that was once paved, mostly gravel now. They are in the process of making improvements. Great fenced doggie area and a pool that looked nice but we didn't use. Small dinner on site for breakfast and dinner. limited selection but it was very good. Good WiFi and great water pressure. Lots of permanents and a fair amount of travels too. Sewer connection is in the back of the site so you need 2 hose connections. We would stay here again.
